    Very well said! I was an ALPHA and a BETA tester on FS2020. Thrown off of the team because of my message cautioning an early release. Given all the hype we had prior to release of 2024, it was fair to assume that it would be bug free. Not so.
    M$ want desperately to push us all to the cloud, and even with a 100mbs connection I know that 2024 will be a mess for me. With 2020, I've tweaked and tweaked my computer and the sim, and at least now I have it in a good, flyable state. Not willing to go through another four years of bug hunting for 2024. Only thing that will ever make me buy 2024 is if they allow us to do a full install without having to stay online.

      FS2020 was not usable in the first year - and so was XPlane 12 - and so will be FS2024.
      Every new Sim needs ONE YEAR of community treatment... to get a strong immun-system.....
      this is an absolutely necessary process....but they should be honest and positively call it a common adventure...the way , that creators and users have to go TOGETHER.
      Every simmer has to decide, if he wants to participate ! ...i personally do not.

      @@BerndSchmitt-Martinique Not everyone that bought it was an experienced flight simmer. That's why they should've called it an alpha and released it with the disclaimer that everyone who buys it should expect bugs and to report them when encountered. That would have saved them a lot of grief from the community. It's not a big deal to me personally, I'm sure they'll optimize everything in the future, but you can't blame people who potentially paid $200 for being upset when it doesn't work half of the time.

    Totally agree - very little benefit to fly 2024 just to give up all the integrity of 2020….
    Unless you “need” to play it as a game…. I despise the non-simulation aspects of 2024 - what a waste of resources - just to sign up people that want to walk everywhere or take pictures of fake stuff - more of a game now - what a bummer.
    I’ll wait at least 6 months - but betting they prioritize stupid stuff like career mode rather than study level flight simulation. Just $$$$$.

      I have a high-end computer with a 4090 video card and I have absolutely no issue with it running. Runs extremely smooth and I’m very pleased with this version of flight Sim. I’ve been flying Microsoft flight simulator since the 1980s with the one airstrip on the mountain in the corner. I’ve been working in aerospace my whole career, and also flown aircraft And understand the systems and they’ve done a marvellous job modelling this. I don’t mind being an early innovator or adaptor of the software, as it makes me learn. This guy is full of crap as he probably waits for everything to be perfect in life, and you can’t do that. My only disappointment is that they didn’t have the three different screen, Zoom selection and I have to stretch the Screen across on left and right. I made a video on how to do this.

    I agree, the aircraft is what is important. I fly mainly small GA aircraft like the Cessna 172 and the 172 in MSFS 2024 is a massive leap forward in realism than 2020. A good example is I hit my 55 knots and yank back on the stick like I have done in every Flight Simulator since Flight Simulator 2 on my Atari 800.....except this time it was different. I stalled the 172, the wing dropped and I rolled over and impacted the runway. I tried to replicate that in 2020 and could not do it and for the first time I understood what X-Plane players meant when they said MSFS aircraft fly like they are on rails.

  • @braneden
    @braneden 13 дней назад +1

    Aha fully agree I do look forward to 2024 at some point but when I started seeing the comparison videos of the two side by side and all the problems I said nope for now. I also have a full cockpit with the pmdg full overhead programmed with spad.next. I have airmanger the virtual cdu on and on.
    One thing I did do which has been really great was played around a lot with my user opt file. I turned most of my trees and bushes down to low and pushed my terrain lod out to about 4.8 take or give. What I realized is it darkens and adds richness to the land the further out you go. I then turned my buildings to low and clouds to high and pushed object lod out to around 2.6. If you push that out it still adds detail back in even if the setting is set to low. Grass bushes trees all the same. My night lights go out about 40 50 miles. Then I have nvidia filters I play with but last is I went to shadows because the further out you push terrain lod the land is darker under clouds. So I put max slice count down from 4 to 1 and the other numbers from .1000000 to .0000001 which what I discover let's way more light in. Anyway real happy with 2020 I may never switch over. One last thing I said if they somehow updated the imagery daily weekly or even monthly that might change my mind. When I found out most imagery is as old as 2020 that was the nail in the coffin.😂

    • @braneden
      @braneden 12 дней назад

      Today I put object lod way out to 7.5 after tests I realized that's what extents coloring and terrain lod is obviously your mesh grid of the earth. If you extend terrain it will too darken the land but color wise ultimately you extend object lod. I put trees to medium and buildings to low with 7.5 object lod.. pretty nice. Original max setrings 2.000000

    The truth is MSFS2024 is an utter bug-ridden disgrace. From the disastrous launch, when they should have known about server loads, to the hundreds and hundreds of bugs in the program. Airports missing terminals, entire airports missing, airborne jetways, aircraft with wings missing, avatars hanging upside down out of flying aircraft, blurry terrain, CTDs etc etc. It's pathetic. They rushed it out and they knew it wasn't ready. It's going to take a full year before it's even close to fixed. If you're wondering who the beta testers are, it's the people who bought this joke of a program. I got a refund as I won't reward their incompetence and I won't pay for the privilege of being a beta-tester. I'll give FS2024 one thing, for a "flight simulator", it sure does an awesome job of simulating giraffes and deer.

It is also a shame that the biggest RUclipsrs with flight simulator themed channels are not able to criticize this and prefer to please the power of the giant Microsoft, saying that everything is fine, that everything is beautiful. While I appreciate your opinion, I disagree a wee bit. I, as a "normal" person as you mentioned, am enjoying 24 immensely. I am not having any major issues...and the ones I am having are really no different than my experience with 20 when it came out. I primarily fly the Fenix A319/320/321, which is considered a study level aircraft and the A2A Comanche 250, which is also considered study level.
    I can and anyone I've shown 24 to can see the difference at cruise. The clouds alone give it away. While the quality of the planes is important, so is the flight model, which I feel is much improved over 20.
    The "shit" as you say that doesn't matter...I disagree. It does matter...at least to me. I am not a "kid" but I do enjoy the career mode. Is it realistic? No but it sure is fun. I don't see anything wrong with wanting to have fun in my sim.
    And what is wrong with "driving puddle jumpers"? Flight simming isn't only about flying airliners. I like many others enjoy those "puddle jumpers". One of my favs, the JP Logistics C152 also works fine in 24.
    And again, I'm one of the "normal" people as you say that is enjoying the simple things, like flying a good quality plane...aka, the Fenix, the A2A Comanche, and the JP Logistics 152 in 24.
    Bottom line, just like drinking wine, drink...err play what you like be it 20, 24 or X-Plane...and have fun!!! After all it is only a game in then end. Cheers!!!

I went back to a fresh install of 2020 with a few of my PMDG planes installed. The improved multi thread of was nice but 2024 at this point feels less than 2020. Why don't you go over some of the issues in more detail instead of just making fun of it while sounding like a child? You simply cant give solid advise when you speak like that. And even worse you don't even explain the issues with any details whatsoever. Which helps no one decide if they should get the sim as many issues may effect different people based on what type of flying they do.
    And to add to all this, where have you gotten the information from that many of the big flight sim youtubers are being paid to upload videos about the new sim? All the ones I've seen have clearly stated their frustration with the new sim and are NOT making it all sound like the sim is best ever as if they are being paid.
    Your so called "advice" in this video is completely rubbish and helps no one at all. Its just you speaking rubbish with no proper information on any of the issues whatsoever.

      Well the good thing about flight sim is we can all enjoy it in difirent ways and levels so you are right some bugs my effect others difirently, I know some content makers have had free trips and gifts and at the some time some are very helpful when it comes to getting around some of the bugs. Later when some of the planes that I have bought work and fly smoothly on 2024 I will do another vid on how I got it to work and how good it is, Im hoping 2024 is sucsessful and a fantastic sim , I have fibre so I have very good internete unfortunatly a lot of people dont and I think the need of fast internet puts a lot of people at a disovantage and in itself I think is causing a lot of problems for people. Thank you for your opinion appriciate you taking the time to do so and you are right I could do a lot better. Happy flying mate, Have a wonderful Christmas.

    As a former 2020 Beta tester and avid simmer which is not a a real pilot I avoided 2024 like I did 2020 after its launch. Will likely continue to avoid it until it matures more as I did with 2020. For GA I have heard it is okish. But have seen others and heard from IRL pilot I know that 2024 still has some work to be done but the fun of 2024 for them has been the career and GA planes. I will likely stay away from 2024 until I see things come to parody with 2020 stability and aircraft wise. Has great promise from what I have seen but just isn't close for me yet to shell out the $$$.

    Ive spent over 150 hours in the sim and its alot of fun. Dont listen to a random butthurt guy telling you not to buy. If your interested then go ahead and buy it you wouldn't regret it. it has bugs yes, but its a hell of alot of fun. what a cringe clown you are making a video like this.

Other people like myself dont mind the bugs so why tell people to not buy it? there are at least 4 planes in career mode that work almost perfectly that you can spend alot of hours in.

    I will say 2024 is much better for VFR than 2020 was. I am pulling 72 FPS with almost all settings on Ultra. There are a lot of areas where 2024 is better but there are some areas where it is a regression from 2020. I know when 2028 MSFS 2028 comes out I will wait a full year before I buy it.

    Oh my! Someone has some REALLY big feelings, and may have forgotten that their experience isn’t everyone else’s experience. I appreciate that you’re frustrated, but a lot of of us have not had near as much trouble as you have seem to have with MSFS 24. And telling us we should do what you did is not helping the conversation. Yes it has bugs, nut I’ve had a great time with it. I’m sorry you’re so frustrated, but maybe go play something else for a while. Or boot up MSFS 2020.

    "Don't buy it" as I couldn't tell that wasn't a real view out of an airport window for a moment. And people whining about 2024 were no doubt the same ones whining about 2020 when it first came out full of bugs. Some people don't appreciate the enormity of what Microsoft has achieved. The bugs will be fixed over time crybabies.

    Don't wanna sound like a meat rider, but I'm sure microsoft will fix it. In my opinion, the game wasn't ready for release... at all, they just wanted it out before christmas, but microsoft is a huge corporation, they have the money, time, resources, and employees to do it, it's just a matter of time. It's still a good game regardless, with improved gameplay. If you don't really care about features like the walk around mode and career mode then staying on 2020 is probably good for you, but if you do care about that stuff (like me), then it's probably best to stay on 2024. I didn't buy on release date, a few days after since I had to deal with just getting home from a funeral, but I haven't encountered any major issues so far. Sure a few crashes here and there, but all and all really not too bad.

    Don't listen to this guy. He's the most whingey complaining kiwi ever !! If you aren't one of those over the top everything must be perfect high flying flight system programming auto pilot types, and you just enjoy flying GA around the place, 2024 is the best thing to ever happen to flight sims. Even with it's teething problems. It runs better and looks better than 2020, and in my experience so far has very little problems. If you love flying, just buy it and don't listen to the naysayers !!
