Hi great stuff.Just stumbled on your channel. Can u help out? I noticed u had a 737. I tried downloading different liveries.Can u do a video on how that is done successfully? They are downloaded but do not appear in the aircraft list in 2024. Thx.

MSFS 2020 is best for me on international flights on the same computer and setting as with MSFS 2024 . MSFS 2024 has better-looking trees and terrains around the airports . I use it for GA VFR flights at small airports .

My experience with msfs24 has been amazing and i dont agree with anything this man is saying. It sounds like this mans personal experience has been bad so mabey it isint the same for eveyone. Also i have no experience flying and it is the best game ive ever played

Master full advice and wisdom of this man speaks more volumes than those crappy famous youtubers who are no good at giving the actual clarity and ground level truth. It's so shameful that in 2024 we don't have a functional Sim. By the time this sim stabilizes MSFS 2028 will be announced and cycle will continue. All of this is only just increasing my confidence in XPlane platform as a stable sim . Once new gen scenery will come to Xplane that is going to be my choice as a serious Simmer. Thanks for your words of wisdom and saving my hard earned money. Shameful business model and disappointing Microsoft and Asobo.

I am still using 2020. None of my aircraft work in 24, among other things. Patiently waiting. I purchased the premium deluxe. But, I’m not sure it was ready for prime time.

Flying the Max in 2020 and the 172, 737 in 2024. Have not really started the career mode yet waiting for it to settle down. I agree it is great to have 2020 to use when you want no problems however 2024 is just beautiful will be fantastic when all bugs are fixed. This heaven having both.

2020 is still King and will be for quite some time. Honestly wish they had fixed all of the ignored issues in 2020 before moving on to the 2024 XBox arcade sh*tshow.

it looks like you have your Bing data and photogrammetry are turned off in 2020. I know it adds a big performance hit but it looks just as good as those 2024 screen captures you showed. Personally I'm sticking with 202o until 2024 lives up to being the promised update to 2020, right now it feels more like an alpha of that update.

I'm a VFR lovin' GA flyer, like I was IRL back in my younger days, so I'm really looking forward to 2024's up-close eye candy ...that is... when/if 2024 ever gets out of buggy Alpha phase of development. Beta? No, it's not even there yet! Now then, I have a couple of constructive criticism comments. 1. Like others are commenting here, your graphics settings look awful. There are jaggies galore and shimmering everywhere. It looks like really nasty upscaled 480p on my large 4K screen! I don't know what computer you're using, but I'm sure your graphics settings can be tweaked significantly. There are already some helpful suggestions in the comments. 2. TURN OFF THE AUTOPILOT! If you want to quickly improve your flying skills then turn the darned thing off and leave it off! Don't use it as a crutch for poor skills, like so many RUclips 'aviators' do. Learn to trim your aircraft for all phases of flight and you simply won't need it. IMO it should only be used for those long boring high altitude legs. Again, leave it off and learn to fly the airplane. You'll be amazed at how quickly your skills improve and how much more immersive your flights are. Anyway, looking forward to more of your 2024 vs 2020 comparison videos. Merry Christmas!😁

Wow,you really are causing a stir about 2024. Like 2020 it will take some time for the sim to stabilse. I guess with such a complicated product you are always going to have start up issues and it will be great to watch 2024 grow. You have come up with a good idea, that is run both 2020 and 2024 and enjoy the good parts of both. I'm going to break out Jet in airways and start the routes like we used too see you in the sky's.

I went back to 2020 cause all my planes were there and it just runs way better. You have to set up controls for EVERY model on 24. No control crosses over to other models.

BUILDINGS on LOW doesn't affect payware airports, it affects the draw distance of BUILDINGS. Render Scaling leave at 100 (this will kill FPS as you are trying to render a higher resolution than native 1920X1080) AMD FidelityFX Sharpening is the amount of sharpening applied to a pixel on your screen - leave this at 50-70.Terrain Level of Detail - Make this 100, Off Screen Terrain Pre-Caching leave on HIGH. BUILDINGS TREES Etc all on MED - HIGH (trust me it makes a difference). TEXTURE RESOLUTION - drop this to MED. ANISOTROPIC FILTERING should ALWAYS be at 16X. TERRAIN SHADOWS set to 1024. BLOOM and LENS FLARE are personal preferences - I prefer enabled.

i have both MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024 installed on my Xbox X and PC. 2020 is still a fantastic sim without all the woke BS that is in MSFS 2024.

Some PC specs would be nice - I think in order to give meaningful feedback it's important to first understand what hardware you using (besides the controllers). Right off the bat however I can give you a few tips, render scaling should not be set higher than 100% (can be but there are refresh rates and VRAM considerations to be made) - AMD fidelity sharpening - set this somewhere between 50 and 70. Frame Rate limiter (100% monitor refresh rate) basically means if your monitor refresh rate is 60 then that will be your frame limiter, don't worry about this - just disable dynamic settings . Set your Global Rendering Quality to HIGH and then expand the selection and change the following values: Terrain Level of Detail: 100, Object Level of Detail 100, Texture Resolution: Medium Terrain Shadows: 1024 and deactivate the option Raytraced Shadows - the rest can stay on high, use this as a base and test again.

I live in the UK and flew over my house in both sims no difference. FS traffic puts the real aircraft at the airport in real time. I also use British birds that put birds in the airport in the air and ground also use REX trees and grass for a better experience.

Really it’s sad, because their old version 2020 is a better version. I’m trying my best to stick with it, but it’s hard. The improvements, in my opinion, are so slow. I was very disappointed, and still am, trying to work through the issues.

You have a lot of scenery shimmering there. You need to increase your anisotropic filtering to 8 or 16x, and/or increase your super sampling count to 2x2 or 4x4 then the shimmering will be minimised.

Sorry but MSFS2024 will take years to fix to the promised and advertised level. That is the thruth. No matter what so called content creators will tell you.

For a huge corporate company what they did to millions of faithful flight sim customers is a disgrace! Even something simple like using custom callsigns is broken! Also using the ai copilot to do take control of atc radio's is broken. If you use AI ATC you can't do a VFR flight as your copilot keeps requesting IFR, and if you cancel IFR, the co-pilot doesn't let you. When I sent in a support ticket they said this is not a priority as it's not game breaking? Yes it is, as it's preventing users from using these features. Basically, We have all paid a lot of money to Beta Test a unfinished, work in progress piece of software! MS/Asobo is a money grabbing disgrace!

First….im using 2024. Its a challenge sometimes, but I am using it. With that said, MS also said “most, if not all, addon aircraft and airports” would work in new sim. Nope….not even close

If you don't have MSFS2020 and you want to get into flight simulation get 2024 despite its bugs. It is only going to get better and more stable. I like to fly around and look at scenery. With 2024, I can get out of the plane and walk around the Sphinx and Khufu Pyramid.

I only installed the game for the campaign. But you are forced to go to unknown airports, to unlock the world. Some of which have trees in the taxiway, while some are a grass field and have 0 markings. Sometimes the speed is stuck, which causes me to stall, sometimes the wheels break and I can't start (after skipping to runway). It's unplayable at this point. I have 64Gb DDR5 RAM, Ryzen 7950x3d and a 4090. Playing in 4k, the game would run normally for the most part, but after 1-2 missions the fps drop every few seconds and it becomes unplayable. I'm glad I got the gamepass and didn't pay 150€ for it. Going back to the 2020 version until the game is playable. I agree with you, this is inexcusable.

I recently started watching your videos and enjoy listening to your open and unbiased points of view. First, must say, impressed that you managed to get everything set up and complete your first flight in MSFS 2024 without any issues. I know that I am about to be controversial but speak as I find. My personal interest in flight simulation only extends to replicating real world instrument procedures using study-level add-on aircraft like PMDG, Fenix and iFly airliners. Therefore, and from what I can see, I have not been affected by the majority of complaints which appear to originate from people who want to enjoy the other things the simulator has to offer. This must be very frustrating and understandably gives rise to such negativity and overall disappointment. So, hopefully, devs will get these things sorted asap so that everyone can enjoy what, I predict, will become the best sim ever, given time. For me, as a dedicated flight simmer with no interest in other aspects of the sim/game, there is no doubt in my mind that MSFS 2024 is already superior to it's predecessor providing you have suitable hardware and, if you can afford to introduce payware scenery and better aircraft. That said, if you like airbuses, you won't go far wrong with iniBuilds A330 which is an outstanding product, endorsed by some real world pilots. Now, just a couple of things which you may have already discovered by the time you read this but things you mentioned a couple of times in this video. Have you tried installing the payware sceneries you have already purchased into MSFS 2024 ... In some cases, online installers now enable you to install your sceneries into MSFS 2024 as well as keeping the original in MSFS 2020 but if not, simply copy/paste between community folders will suffice or you may prefer to use MSAddons Linker. The same applies to another thing you mentioned - Liveries .. well, no issues at all if you own the Fenix aircrafts ... the Fenix livery installer contains a huge library of liveries for all variants and it's just a case of clicking a button to automatically install liveries directly into the sim. Alternatively, FSTO offers another huge selection which you simply drop into your MSFS 2024 community folder. So, as you will no doubt guess, I'm very happy with MSFS 2024 and very much looking forward to PMDG and iFly making their excellent aircrafts compatible. For me, the most significant things MSFS 2024 brings to the party are significantly faster loading time, overall smoothness and much better terrain, particularly on finals into a lovely payware airport. Let's be honest, the scenery is a huge step up and the clouds and lighting are also pretty impressive. I didn't want to finish on a negative but I think the jury is still out when it comes to the sim being streamed. I can imagine this, for some, is a complete disaster whilst many of us that do have stable high-speed internet connections would also welcome the ability to run some of the content locally. Appreciate this is possibly, the longest comment to accompany a RUclips presentation but something which I think does justice to the time and effort that you have invested in making this very interesting video.

What is disappointing is all the great aircraft I had in 2020, paid with my hard earned money, are not compatible as was promised by Asobo, it was, in most cases, going to be a smooth transition. Not so at all so I really have no option but to go back to 2020
