That's a sawtooth wave with live adjustments to VCF and VCO. And it's not an arpeggiator. It's a sequencer. :) Other than that, they have sounded this good since the first time I saw them in the late 80s, which was for this CD release actually. They went from three guys behind keyboards to a full-on stage show in the early 90s. If I remember right, the violator tour was the first one with a full band.
Depeche Mode... made the soundtrack to my life... and I am not the only one... so only huge stadiums can do them justice... and it is still hard to get your hand on tickets! 🖤🖤🖤
Depeche Mode are amazing, saw them live in London this year. Dave Gahan is mesmerising and a brilliant front man. There are so many great songs to choose from but I think you would like Enjoy the Silence (Live in Berlin) to start, gives me goosebumps every time I watch it. Also take it right back to the 80's with Stripped (Live from 101)
They seem like they put on a super high energy show. Thanks for the suggestions, I'll add those to the list. Do you have any other bands to check out specifically ones on the more Electronic side?
@@timeritual My favourite at the moment, apart from Depeche Mode are London Grammar, Hannah Reid's vocals are amazing. For 80's try Tears for Fears, The Cure , Human League - 90's maybe Faithless, Prodigy. Chemical Brothers. I also love Twentyonepilots. I'm sure others can come up with some great bands. I'm from the UK, so you may not know some of these but worth checking out.
Nice I’m familiar with most of these bands but haven’t gotten too deep into them. I’ll add them to the list. Will be putting out of few reaction videos this week
This is my fave all time, from Music For the Masses in 1987. I saw them in 1988 at Madison Square Garden. I'm 70 but this is definitely on my life's soundtrack. Love them, esp the early stuff. Vince Clarke.....
Dave Gahan always wanted to be like Bowie on stage! He wanted to be that kind of frontman! And I think he has done it in spades! He is so amazing on stage! I have seen them like 3-4 times and wish I could have seen them a dozen other times!
I saw them last November during their world tour. Amazing!! David is hot and always will be!! A fan since 85 and I love them more now than when I was 12 of course. 🖤 Black Celebration is my favourite album. It is dark and a bit industrial goth as well. But Not Tonight is my all time favourite of theirs.
Martin is playing a Gretsch White Falcon on this song. He has such a huge collection of those guitars. BTW, Gretsch made a Martin Gore Signature which looks like the green double anniversary. Nice review. You could also check Enjoy The Silence Live In Paris... Martin played a great funky line with an amazing sound at the end of that song... wonderful :)
Tytyty for your DM reaction awesome! Loved the texts 😂 check out I Feel You from the 93 devotional tour...Dave is high as a kite and Alan Wilder their sound designer who left in 95 is playing drums...the sound back then live was so good almost lile studio and Daves voice live was amazing❤❤❤
Nice choice for a DM live performance DM always play NLMDA when they tour. A must see in my opinion is "Behind The Wheel" from 101 tour "Personal Jesus "from Devotional tour and Enjoy The Silence from live in Berlin
Christain Eigner, the drummer is sooo good! Saw DM in Dublin a coupe of years ago. I've been going to concerts for 45 years and have seen a lot of legends, DM are at the top of my all time greats 👍
@@timeritual ...I've just rewatched and, I can not make any sense of my own comment 🤣 Sorry man! Funny though... Anyway, if you ever fancied a song request, do let me know, please! This random interaction could turn into sth. interesting. All the best
Always hate that this is the version everyone reacts to ,I know it is because it has the most views but this is why it does. The live drums for this song in my opinion are garbage, and the stupid drum solo they do now I cant stand. The song was more impactful with the electronic bass that used to be used vs live drums now..but oh well.. at least people are listening to DM.
Not only are they big, they are HUGE! And rightfully so, filling stadiums and arenas worldwide for more than 4 decades.
Awesome, I’m excited to dive more into them
@@timeritualyeah they’ve sold over 100 million albums.
@@timeritual please do! It's a fun rabbit hole to dive into.
Standing in this crowd is a amazing feeling....every time. DM forever🎉🎉🎉
thanks for watching :)

I definitely see the Bowie influence !
@@timeritual Yeah he has the gift! Hell check out his cover of Bowie's song Hero's!

Dave Gahan - best frontman ever 🔥
he's a phenomenal showman, whats another song I should react to?
@@timeritual everything counts 101 live
Cool I’ll add it to the list
Absolutely no doubt about it!!!
@@timeritualplease react to Enjoy the Silence and John The Revelator
Got to listen to enjoy the silence live now 😊
101 version is the best of this song
Nice, I’ll have a look. Thanks
@@timeritualdon't listen him. Best live version was in 2001 (Exciter tour) or 1993 (Devotional tour)
@@timohardy3848 101 is the best live version for sure. Exciter version is awful.
Yeah, they should haver been invited to do a Super Bowl halftime show.

Sounds amazing :) I’ll check it out! Thanks for the kind words
Took my 14 year old Swiftie to see them. Gotta start somewhere.
hahah yeah thats a great start
Love that you did that!! 🎉❤
Yes😎 keep on modeing🤘
Depeche Mode the BEST group ever.
they're incredible!
check out depeche mode "enjoy the silence" live berlin
That is a must see!!!
See the stars, they're shining bright. Everything's alright tonight!
Great lyrics 🤘
Martin’s guitar is a Gretsch Double Anniversary (probably)
yeah that looks correct
Billy Duffy of The Cult plays one as well. So does Poison Ivy of The Cramps.
Seems like the Gretsch White Falcon instead... The Double Anniversary is a green one I think... But Martin's got a huge collection of Gretsch :).
Enjoy the silence live in Berlin 👌🏻 it’s epic. Also the 101 concert tour is a must watch
awesome, thanks for the suggestion :)
Big doesn't cover Depeche Mode. They're one of the few bands going who can fill out stadiums all over the World 30 years after their biggest hits.
that's amazing longevity
Nice choice for a DM live performance DM always play NLMDA when they tour. A must see in my opinion is "Behind The Wheel" from 101 tour "Personal Jesus "from Devotional tour and Enjoy The Silence from live in Berlin
Thank you for the suggestions! I'll check those out
I was there xD
Awesome!!! That show looks like it was unforgettable
FYI Richard Butler (Psychedelic Furs) worked with Martin Gore on many songs from their latest Momento Mori.
Sounds interesting, I've never listened to the Psychedelic Furs
Where are the days ? .. 🥰
😀

He’s a solid drummer! I noticed he doesn’t overplay but lays the foundation for the rest of the band
DEPECHE MODE - I FEEL YOU 2006 LIVE PLEASE!!
Ok I'll check it out! Thanks for watching!
Dont you miss enjoy the silience in the same live tour in Barcelona... Martin L. Gore execute the guitar like the gods
Cool I’ll check it out! Thanks for watching
I know nothing about guitars, but I think his guitar is a Gretch or something like that.
Yes someone in the comments mentioned Gretch too
Please reaction to George Harrison - Who Can See It
Thanks for the suggestion!
...meaning RHCP, maybe?
Sorry what do you mean?

Why reacting to concert version. It makes no sense.
Why does it make no sense? There's more to review and react to in a live performance...
But the music is a noice. You dont hear the lyrics, you hear noice instead of nelody. @@timeritual
