Absolutely one of my favorite bands ever, and you can’t beat them live. Even still, in their early sixties; I saw them last year on tour and they were amazing. Dave was still all over the stage, holding the crowd in his hand, as always. What’s really amazing to me is how these guys have survived and remained relevant for 40+ years, through A LOT. Especially when Dave sunk into heroin addiction in the 90s; it caused founding member Alan Wilder to leave permanently, and nearly killed Dave, but he’s been in the small percentage of addicts who actually make such a “complete” recovery. He’s been clean since about 1996; they even decided to forego touring their 1997 album so Dave had more time to recover mentally, away from the stress and temptation on the road. Sadly, Andy Fletcher “Fletch” passed away suddenly in 2022 (aortic dissection), just before they were about to go into the studio for their latest album. Martin Gore, the guitarist w/his hair bleached within an inch of its life, is actually the one who writes almost all their songs, and occasionally sings lead, but personally I prefer the way he sounds as backup for Dave; I think his “sweet” sounding tenor voice complements Dave’s baritone perfectly. Check out something from Songs of Faith and Devotion, like “I Feel You” for something sexy w/serious swag, or “Condemnation,” where DM takes you to church! 😂 (Dave looks great, but unfortunately that time period is toward the beginning of Dave’s heroin addiction. Long-haired Dave = addicted Dave. ☹️
Hey sis, Yay! more D Mode, loving it. Thanx so much P and K love u guys. So thankful for u. No matter how dark my days get, I can always depend on u to bring me up. Keep that beautiful light shining. Much love, take care, Peace
They still look great to this day but you definitely need to check out their videos/live shows from the late 80s when they were in their prime. You'll be in for a real treat
Un pecheur = fisherman, depeche = got quickly, with despatch, mode = style, so: depeche mode' = fast fashion / 'off the peg' is the expression in England.
Thanx so much P, love the D Mode. So wish I knew y'all in my younger concert days. We would have had a blast. Just thankful I got the chance to get to know ya's. Much love and many blessings, Peace
Depeche Mode have been doing it since 1981! Dave Gahan (the lead singer) has always tried to be like David Bowie! He can lead 30 thousand people easily with a mike! You are freaking blessed to be hearing there stuff! They are amazing!
With depeche mode its better to watch the official videos in my personal opinion. Most their songs are great and this is one of them but this isnt their best playing of it. Please try the officials with these in the future sweety 😊
Actually think the lyrics are about drug use. Am sure they played it at the show I went to years ago. Didn’t know it then, but I corrected that soon enough.
Yeah, these aren’t the kind of guys trying to hook up with groupies, thankfully. And yeah, they’re totally straight, despite appearances, particularly in the 80’s-Martin especially made some questionable fashion choices. 😂 But I LOVE them-I actually just saw them live last year in San Antonio (9 hour drive from home in central Arkansas) and I was so happy to see they were really in top form, and Dave was still dancing all over the place, as usual, in their early 60s. Don’t know how they managed through a long tour schedule so well-I’m 49 and I’d be needing a hospital stay after a couple weeks. But thankfully it’s not drugs anymore, since Dave’s been clean since about 1996 and Martin finally got his drinking under control. Ironic how it was Fletch, the only one who hadn’t tried his damnedest to self-destruct, who is now dead.

Dave Gahan…..the most flamboyant straight man you’ll ever see. Dude is a hell of a performer. Love your reaction❤
If you ever get an opportunity you must catch them live! They will blow your socks off! You’ll dance like mad! I swear I lost 5 lbs at each show.
Big Depeche mode fan
Nearly monotone, about lifelong struggle with drugs, still one of the bestest banging songs ever.

Master and Servant is another good one from them.

And also I am a straight man but Dave is the sexiest mofo when he's on stage! I have been to a few shows and he has made me swoon!
Also also the 2 songs Enjoy the Silence and this one are 2 of the best songs they have done!

Luke Kelly, The Hot Asphalt or The Rocky Rd To Dublin. I have many Irish tunes. Also, you know you are welcome here forever
I keep coming back 😏
😘
Deh pesh
I like DP but I don't think they need a woman with knee pads on. Maybe a guy best friend though.
They’re not gay. Martin & David are both married to women. Martin has kids, but I’m not sure about David. Martin Gore is in his second marriage.
@@nitro_001newman2Dave Gahan has a 37 years old son and a 25 years old daughter 😊

Great band, song, video and terrible reaction
Great bands are not all rock and roll bands
