i told him to look gentleman up several times but he ignored it.... honestly i wouldnt recommend the newer german songs. his old album in patua is by far the best.
Fun Fact: Peter Foxs soloalbum "Stadtaffe" originally arose from the idea of recording hip-hop and dancehall-inspired “urban” beats with two drummers plus an orchestra and having CeeLo Green sing over them. The joint session had already been arranged. But then CeeLo had the global hit with Gnarls Barkley in the meantime and he couldn't do the joint session. So Peter made it himself ...
I was todays years old when I realized that dude was famous…(44 yrs old). However, I cannot even remember ever having watched the music video in full, but in my twenties this song featured on any party I danced at…for the groping and the kissing…lol
Peter Fox wrote an Album for Cee Lo, but then he became unexactble famous with Gnarls Barkley and the project ended - as far as I know. I recommend Bootsy Collins & SEEED 'A Life For Da Sweet ting' even without P. Fox an absolute pearl presenting this great band!
He was also the "founder" of the band's distinctive smell :D I've worked a couple of times for/with them and you could tell that Demba was in the vicinity because of a very strong weeed smell xD
You begin to be a fan of Seeed and Peter Fox and i begin to be a fan of your reactions, its good to see german music culture and artists getting this kind of reception, its good and well deserved.
Funfact: Peter Fox pruduced a whole album of beats for Celo Green but when Gnarles Barkley was very successful he didnt have the time for the album with Peter's beats. But because Peter Fox thought it would be a shame to waste them, he made the album "Stadtaffe" with those beats. This album includes songs like "Stadtaffe", "Schwarz zu Blau" and "Alles neu" and is probably his most famous album to date
I know it is often called that way but let's be honest it's not a rap album by any means. Not to take anything away from P. Fox, i just think there is so much more musical versatility in there which clearly defines the unique sound. I love P. Fox and i love this album but when i'm in the mood for rap music i would go for something like Lakmann, RuhrpottAG, Savas...just to name a few where the sound of an album is actually defined by rap. @@Soguwe
The “coffee that wakes up dead aunts" is probably a play on very strong coffee (wakes up the dead) and the drink “Tote Tante" (‘dead aunt') wich is made with hot chocolate, rum and whipped cream.
The day can be as shitty as it can be, but seeing Dwayne's laughter and joy over German music has massively improved my mood! Thanks, bro!🕺The song is from 2005, oh god, and is almost 20 years old. I'm getting old. Ever since I've had a mobile phone or smartphone that can play music as an alarm, I've had this song as my wake-up tone.😅
box is a literal translation for a slang word . Kiste means box (like a card board box to carry stuff), but it also means booty. So what he's singing is "you're dancing the way that I praise god for your booty"
Peter Fox album "Stadtaffe" was actually planned for CeeLo Green and the lyrics were supposed to be in English. But due to the success of 'Gnarls Barkley', CeeLo no longer had time for it, and Peter Fox produced the "Stadtaffee" album himself in German.

Gentleman from Cologne (who did the chorus on Ahnma by Beginner) has had a career doing reggae in Jamaican Patois English since the 90s and he's been quite successful, having done tracks with Beenie Man (really good track called "Still Around"), Shaggy, Sean Paul, Damian Marley and 2 entire albums with Ky-mani Marley. I've even seen his albums in shop windows in Brixton. A few years ago, he did his first German language album from which I recommend the track "Staubsauger".

A fact that should not be underestimated: Peter Fox suffered facial paralysis in 2001 due to a viral infection, which still has mild effects today. The right side of the face is particularly affected. If you know that, you can see that he is talking and singing out of the left corner of his mouth! simply incredible!

And Seeed indeed is ... original? As you said?
But there are other cool German Hip Hop bands or Artists.
WobWobWob from Käpt'n Peng & Die Tentakel von Delphi is an amazing song, do you already know it?
If not you might wanna listen to that, I think that's pretty much sounding like no other artist as well!
Looooove that song 🎵 its in my playlist like forever ❤
Listening to the music first and then reading + interpreting the lyrics is a good working procedure!
P.S. Your monologue is very inspiring!
I really enjoy your German music reactions, especially since your taste in music is very similar to mine. A great German reggae artist is Gentleman, you've already heard him in "Beginner -Ahnma". Or other great bands: Ohrbooten, Jamaram, Jahcoustix, Roots Rockers, and so on.....
You know Seeed actually released a couple of English versions of their songs, definitely check them out! They managed to translate everything so so well.
Very nice reaction 👌😎
Sadly Demba Nabé, one singer of the trio, died in 2018 😥
May he be in a better world now 🙏
Love Seeed, too ❤
"Aufstehn" means get up in english.
This is the perfect song, if you stand up in the morning, when you have had a long chilly evening 🍀🍻
You should 100% Check out SEEED with dancehall caballeros
I'be been waiting for this reaction of "Aufstehn" :D My fav from Seeed.
No are not becoming. You are already deep in. Listen next to the swiss guy Phenomden... He is actually living in Jamaica with his wife. Awesome guy.
Try this small bit.
