Broken down it is about a married dude getting his best outfit out to go to a bar, gets drunk, meets a stunning lady, hides his wedding band, she wants him to make a move, but he is so drunk he can't and ends up puking instead and says to himself "I never imagined puking would save my marriage"
Its not even translated... It just tries to fit german words in english vocabulary 😂 it even cuts words in half, frankensteins the rest to the next word and is often just assuming 😂😂😂
Seeed is amazing and timeless! The Frontman "Peter Fox" has one of the best german albums ever called "Stadtaffe" - would recommend you a lot if you like the Style! ❤
Here is the correct translation for English ^^: DISCLAMER: The translation might not be fully correct due to it being Copy and Paste frpm a website for song lyrics!!! Nice. Falls du's optimieren willst, es heißt: 'to take the offensive'. 'Being offensive' ist 'beleidigend sein', das will sie aber nicht. Zeit gewinnen ist 'to buy time' nicht 'win'. richtig wäre 'she's not my type', nicht 'kind'.
"Ding" was everywhere in those days, and still gets played occasionally on radio, I remember hearing it just a week ago or so while driving. Well deserved success!
The captured subtitiles couldn't be more nonsense, omg. But anyways, Seeed is amazing. Such a good combination of Rap, Roots Reggae, Dancehall etc. And they do not only sing in German. Often they mix within one song even. German Reggae is actually huge. Check also people like 'Gentleman' or 'Patrice' or soo many more. I believe Summer Jam in Cologne is still the biggest Reggae/Dancehall Festival in Europe.
Seeed is a multi-cultural band with 10(?) members from Berlin but the main guy who is rapping here is Pierre Baigorry (stage name Peter Fox) from Germany. Their songs are all in this specific Reggae and Dancehall style. I think this is their only animated video (but not sure about it) most of their videos feature the whole band and the city of Berlin. Some of their songs can be seen as loveletters to this city like "Schwarz zu Blau" (English: "Black to Blue", describing a morning in Berlin) or "Dickes B" (English: "Big/Fat B", because of the size of the city) and if not mentioned directly, Berlin is always referenced to in some way. The cover of "Ding" by the band Feuerschwanz is great too. Feuerschwanz (English: Firetail or Firecock, can mean either) are a German Medieval Folk Metal band who often use bagpipes, harps and hurdy-gurdy in addition to the usual rock/metal instruments like guitars, drums and bass to create that medieval sound. For the cover they invited Melissa Bonny the (French-Swiss) singer of the Symphonic Metal band Ad Infinitum to sing the English part.
There are quite many animated videos actually. 'Beautiful', 'Lass sie geh'n' and 'Hale-Bopp' would be some of them. 'Cherry Oh 2014' was another one, but it's not available on their channel anymore.
I LOVE what you said at the end of this video from about 8:00. That’s why I love your reaction videos so much. People who watch videos like this because they want to see their hatred of other cultures confirmed will not find what they are looking for in you. You are curious, open, always warm-hearted, even when you criticize (and it seems authentic, not just polite), and you are genuinely interested in the diversity that could be available to all of us if we only looked more closely and with an open heart. As humanity, we still have a long way to go in this regard, and you are one of those who go ahead without making a mission out of it. Simply because that is your way. I like that a lot ❤
SEEED is actually quite a multicultural band, with the band members pretty much all coming from Berlin, but having backgrounds from Ghana, France, Guinea, and yes, Jamaika (but that's actually the percussionist)
1. You have to read the lyrics 2. You have to listen to "Dickes B", "Music Monks" and then my personal favourite "Psychedelic Kingdom" and all of the rest. Love your channel, greetings from Dortmund.
You should definitely check out a translation of the lyrics! The guy is going out with his mates, flirting and getting wasted. As he passes out at 3:47 he says "Hätte nie gewettet, dass kotzen meine Ehe rettet" - "Never would have bet that puking would save my marriage"
I still remember how surprised I was when one of my friends from England (originally from India) started singing this song in English. That's when I got to know there is an English version from the same artists as well. The way she was singing it and my other friends joined her I thought at least that song was pretty popular in England? You should check out "Thing" by Seeed if you didn't know.
I would love to see you react to Danger Dan - Das ist alles von der Kunstfreiheit gedeckt. There are maybe 2 or 3 references to political or otherwise infamous German people you won't know, but I think from the context it will be clear what kind of people he sings about. For years I just did not find any German singing artist I liked listening to, but when he released the album I listened to it for weeks non stop.
At the beginning and end you can see the Berlin radio tower, one of Germany's landmarks. This is an old and one of the best German and even inernational singers/rappers from Germany, which includes a Raggy Parth as well as the German one. The song is actually about trying not to cheat as a man over so many temptations. a really good song and still loved and celebrated!
You can see how actually fcking good Peter Fox/Seeed is when you go into a club in germany. I think Songs like this will be played anywhere despite getting released in the year where a lot of people dancing to this weren't even born
beside Peter Fox another one of the main singers is Dellé, who gives some song parts a jamaican English Accent, which you have noticed, but surprisingly he is from Ghana
🤣🤣 The translation has almost nothing to do with the text, but the English part captures it well. Seeed has long been one of my all-time favorite bands. The band consists of ten people, including a horn section. Their live performances are outstanding, and their dancehall vibes are infectious, compelling you to move your body. From the album “Music Monks,” there is also an English version - definitely worth listening to!
I just found your channel and I love to see you reacting to German music!! You are so into each song and share your feelings and thoughts. I also really love hearing still old songs, so maybe you can react to another rapper from Germany and an old song "Samy Deluxe - Weck mich auf" That would be awesome! have a nice day!!
Fun fact: Peter Fox originally produced his first solo album for Ceelo Green, who eventually stepped down from the production, so Fox thought to himself „why waste all those good tracks“ and made a solo album. Lucky us 😁
I haven't heard the song for a long time. When it came out in 2005 I finished school and started my apprenticeship and as a village kid with my apprentice's salary I bought wickedly expensive concert tickets for Seeed in Berlin in 2006 (or 2007? Mh!) and O-M-G it was an awesome evening!
Hey Dwayne fellow English/Jamaican who grew up in Germany here. Loved the video Background to the Band/Group It’s a very creative group from Berlin. The Song is from 2006 and a classic in Germany. The group is heavily reggae/caribbean influenced and I was surprised you noticed the English verse being performed by a Jamaican in their group. I can recommend “Aufstehen” with Ceelo Green. You’ll love it. It summarises their music in a great❤ Great Content 🙏🏾
This song is so ubiquitous in germany that whenever somebody exasperately exclaims: "Lächerlich!" (Riddiculous!), another person will almost always reply with "Ich becher mich weg!" (Don't really know how to translate this - it means "I get lost in the drinks", but also "I slam back a few big ones", kinda...), because these lines are so prominent in the song.
2006 Winner des Eurovision Contest. Please more SEEED on this chanel. Very different songs. Greetings from Germany. Seeed: Lass sie gehn. SEEED love and courvoisier...and many more
If you like Seed. I highly recommend you to check out Peter Fox solo album. In my opinion, the best songs from the album are: „Alles neu“ „Stadtaffe“ and „Lok auf 2 Beinen“ 😊
HAHAAAA, I love ya mate 😁 Please please also check out: Riddim No.1, Dancehall Caballeros, Waiting, Augenbling, Tide is high, Geld, What you deserve is what you get.and Dickes B. I know you will either love the song or the video, or both.
Seeed is one of our best. Watch Seeed Augenbling , Dancehall Caballeros, Aufstehen and one of my alltime favorites Wonderfull life ( The AAARGh Video )
Just found your channel and watched a couple of videos. I like it that you look at the translated lyrics at the end and examine them. React to SDP - Eigentlich wollte er nie ein Liebeslied schreiben next :)
its not only the sound of the music. The lyrics are absolutly dope. They really do tell a story. (Never thought that throwing up saves my marriage :) )
love Seeed! Great live band also, thanks a lot for this reaction. Maybe you wanna check out Barbaras Rhabarberbar by Bodo Wartke, quite different than Ding but very funny & part 2 is even funnier.
Awesome, I didn't hear Seeed or Peter Fox (the singer of Seeed) in a while. I think it's time to start over again! ^^ Just because I didn't find anyone else doing it. It Would be interesting to see if you could react to these underrated German musicians: Leoniden (Indie Rock, english language, good vibes only) Herr von Grau (slow German Hip Hop, with deep meanings, sadly no subtitles!) Käptn Peng (alternate Hip Hop, funny and mind boggling lyrics, sadly no subtitles!)
You need to check "Waterpumpee", with this song Seeed entered the Charts of Trinidad and Tobago, later also Jamaica. Also "Release" and the live version of "Molotov" are bangers you shouldn't miss. 😁Btw the sub-titles are bonkers.^^
Heh.... as soon as I saw the title I was like "oh, he is gonna like this one". If you wanna get into the weeds of German Hip-Hop a bit, you might wanna give "Die Fantastischen Vier - Die Da" a listen, thats pretty much at the beginning of German Hip Hop. But the Fantastischen Vier are still going and doing well, even if they are somewhat doing her own thing. But I agree with the other commenters, going for Stuff from Seeeds lead singer Peter Fox is also a good time.
What i really like about Peter Fox, the german lead singer, he openly prefers curvy women, showing thicc badger girls in this Video and on his first solo album he even has an entire song where he sings high praise to plus size women. (Schüttel deinen Speck from the Album 'Stadtaffe').
Its a song about Berlin (in english the title translates as "B major" which has a double meaning since B-erlin and the note B in music) but in German it would be "capital B" and there it has the double meaning as in Berlin being the capital of Germany
Lol those translations! Btw, that song was actually very popular through all genres. Even among metal fans. I also recommend the metal cover by the german medieval comedy metal band 'Feuerschwanz' with Melissa Bonny. The lyrics are adjusted to the genre a bit, but the sound and especially the video are even better. 'Comedy' or rather fun metal is btw a very german thing, though nowadays it spread over to other european metal scenes. The bands, songs and videos are mocking themselves, the metal scene, other music scenes, or just anything in general, mostly in a rather unmalicious way.
The english text recognition on german words is hillarious :-D Seeed actually has recorded an english version "Thing" in collaboration with another band
If you loved the jamaican influence in this song, you are gonna love their version of the Tide is High also Riddim No. 1 they even have a full english version of their song "was du verdienst ist was du kriegst" called "what you deserve is what you get"
Seeed is a fantastic band. You shoul also check out "Dickes B" but I love "Aufstehen" you defenitely need to check that. And when you already on it you should listen to Peter Fox the lead singers solo album. Have fun with one of the best german artists
the translation is wild. its not even close to the actual words. the track is almost 20 years old and still sounds great.
It's not a translation. It's auto captions trying to identify the words as English.
🤦🏻♂️
Indeed to all what you stated.
@@lazrseagull54 that makes sense, the "translation" is completely all over the place with barely a single correct word.
That's why I got to learn German... just to understand their (and Peter Fox) songs fully lol

Actually seed had 3 singer that time. Each one sings a verse in this song.

Alright, today I'm quite in a good mood
Dress nicely and put on a hat
The Rolex ticks, oh how good do I look!
Get the thrill I absolutely need
Yeah, again a solo performance
In this poser outfit, I get myself comfortable
Get ready for bed, smoke sh*t
Where are the chicks with poser neckline?
Come into the club and enjoy the sight
This chick is nice and this one as well
I sing a hook which makes any of them going crazy
My wife's gonna give me an odd look if she finds out
Doesn't matter, I need to go to town from time to time
I'm no homemaker, I really need a drink
Which is worth it, get to the bar, I talk to a woman
Seven Mochitos for the lady and me
Suddenly I enjoy each and every song
I even dance to a song by Placebo
I'm drunk and the lady's drunk as well
Oohoohoo, you beautiful thing
I hide my wedding ring
Ding dong, we could get at it
But we only suck our drinks
You are Queen and I am King
When I see you I have to sing:
"Tingalingaling, you pretty thing"
We're drunk, we're horney
My wife's at home with the kids
At the moment I fight
The wish which everyone can see
Flashing up in my eyes
Hey man, what a cool chick
She says let it out
And she's fired up to get on it
I have to win time
Order some more drinks
She's not my kind
That's what I try to convince myself of
Ridiculous! I get lost in the drink
Bartender, get me some more
Of what's in the barrels
I'll drink it all because it makes me forget:
My thoughts are obsessed with sex
She wants to see the man being offensive
But I'm drunk, just looking at her
Little later my head lies next to the toilet
I'd never have bet
That puking would save my marriage
Ich habe auch darüber nachgedacht die Übersetzung zu kommentieren 💀
Dickes Danke, das du das uns allen abgenommen hast 🤝
Nice. Falls du's optimieren willst, es heißt:
'to take the offensive'.
'Being offensive' ist 'beleidigend sein', das will sie aber nicht.
Zeit gewinnen ist 'to buy time' nicht 'win'.
richtig wäre 'she's not my type', nicht 'kind'.
Some things could have been translated better imo but you got the content unlike whatever google did😂
So this song is about cheating but puking hold him back. What a topic to sing about 😂

Seeed is one of the best German Bands!!!
Jo! Und Deichkind ist leider geil!
Großstadtgeflüster sollte auch nicht vergessen werden 😉
That's what good music can do. He does not understand german, but he totally gets it. Greetings from Berlin, hometown of Seeed!
"Ding" was everywhere in those days, and still gets played occasionally on radio, I remember hearing it just a week ago or so while driving. Well deserved success!
Seeed have been around for a good 25 years now and I still love them to bits. Not a lot of bands have such an amazing grasp on the German language.
Ich bin nicht mehr in den 20igern…. aber dieser Song geht mir direkt in die Beine und ich muß mich zum Rhythmus bewegen… Respekt an SEED 😎🥳🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🙏

I know you will either love the song or the video, or both.
Money is also great and the solo stuff by Peter Fox as well hehe
Their version of "Wonderful Life" is an absolute banger, too.
Love the song back in the days 😊 28 years old shit I am getting old
great reaction!
Another great video and soundtrtack from Seeed -> Schwarz zu Blau
Seeed is one of our best. Watch Seeed Augenbling , Dancehall Caballeros, Aufstehen and one of my alltime favorites Wonderfull life ( The AAARGh Video )
Just found your channel and watched a couple of videos. I like it that you look at the translated lyrics at the end and examine them. React to SDP - Eigentlich wollte er nie ein Liebeslied schreiben next :)
its not only the sound of the music. The lyrics are absolutly dope. They really do tell a story. (Never thought that throwing up saves my marriage :) )
Never thought vomitting would save my marriage...😂
Oh man, those auto captions are waaaaaay off. 😂😂😂 Better pull up the lyrics on google or something!
I think from seed "Augenbling" would also be a great.
Peter Fox ist der Liedsänger SEED.
Er hat auch Solosongs.
Ein super Song.
Peter Fox - Haus am See👍
love Seeed! Great live band also, thanks a lot for this reaction.
Maybe you wanna check out Barbaras Rhabarberbar by Bodo Wartke, quite different than Ding but very funny & part 2 is even funnier.
Peter fox is also finally back on tour he has new songs. I was at a festival where he performed it was awesome ❤❤❤
There is also a funny cover version by the band "Feuerschwanz". As far as I know, this band has also performed at Wacken.
Best German Big Band... 👏👏👏
Thanks for seriously changing my mood 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I had to laugh so hard when he asked if the singer/rapper has a jamaican background. I was like "Nah bro, he's white as snow. He's a ginger" 😂😂😂
Seeed songs age like wine💃🏿🕺🏼
Awesome, I didn't hear Seeed or Peter Fox (the singer of Seeed) in a while. I think it's time to start over again! ^^
Just because I didn't find anyone else doing it. It Would be interesting to see if you could react to these underrated German musicians:
Leoniden (Indie Rock, english language, good vibes only)
Herr von Grau (slow German Hip Hop, with deep meanings, sadly no subtitles!)
Käptn Peng (alternate Hip Hop, funny and mind boggling lyrics, sadly no subtitles!)
You need to check "Waterpumpee", with this song Seeed entered the Charts of Trinidad and Tobago, later also Jamaica. Also "Release" and the live version of "Molotov" are bangers you shouldn't miss. 😁Btw the sub-titles are bonkers.^^
Xavier Naidoo - ich kenne nichts (das so schön ist wie du ) Beautiful Song !
Heh.... as soon as I saw the title I was like "oh, he is gonna like this one".
💃💃💃🕺🕺🕺Ich liebe diesen Song
Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
Ding from Seeed is the original. There is a cover song of Ding by another German band called "Feuerschwanz". I love this cover by feuerschwanz too
One of the best Songs ever made ❤
You really ought to watch "Dickes B" from them. It's one of their other signature songs and it's all about life in Berlin. So good!
"Schöne neue Welt" from Culcha Candela could be something for you. The vibe of the song is quite positive, but the text is rather critical.
bro Peter Fox, the rapper in that song, is such a good one. he has so clean lines its amazing
What i really like about Peter Fox, the german lead singer, he openly prefers curvy women, showing thicc badger girls in this Video and on his first solo album he even has an entire song where he sings high praise to plus size women. (Schüttel deinen Speck from the Album 'Stadtaffe').
Seeed did in fact an English version named "Thing" feat. Saian Supa Crew but there is also some french in it
Seed - Dickes B is another good example of their music. Used to be a major hit back in the days.
Its a song about Berlin (in english the title translates as "B major" which has a double meaning since B-erlin and the note B in music) but in German it would be "capital B" and there it has the double meaning as in Berlin being the capital of Germany
Jan delay should be next on the list 🙌
Lol those translations!
Btw, that song was actually very popular through all genres. Even among metal fans. I also recommend the metal cover by the german medieval comedy metal band 'Feuerschwanz' with Melissa Bonny.
The lyrics are adjusted to the genre a bit, but the sound and especially the video are even better. 'Comedy' or rather fun metal is btw a very german thing, though nowadays it spread over to other european metal scenes. The bands, songs and videos are mocking themselves, the metal scene, other music scenes, or just anything in general, mostly in a rather unmalicious way.
I really i miss those times
Seeed gehört in Deutschland zu den erfolgreichsten Musikern!!
oldie but goldie
The english text recognition on german words is hillarious :-D Seeed actually has recorded an english version "Thing" in collaboration with another band
If you loved the jamaican influence in this song, you are gonna love their version of the Tide is High also Riddim No. 1 they even have a full english version of their song "was du verdienst ist was du kriegst" called "what you deserve is what you get"
Luv it!
Seeed is a fantastic band. You shoul also check out "Dickes B" but I love "Aufstehen" you defenitely need to check that. And when you already on it you should listen to Peter Fox the lead singers solo album. Have fun with one of the best german artists
