"Before" this song, he lost his wife and his brother. Right after his wife died, his daughter was saying: "daddy.. promise me one thing: dont stop singing!"
❤️☺️Ganz liebe Grüße aus Wien
It "feels real", because "it was real"... and heart braking... but humans are resilliant and (while we never learn the names of those who could not!!) move on... moving on is our fate... having to leave behind the pain and sorrow... very very reluctantly... and I agree... (VERY) "bitter sweet"... God bless him and the many unknow, who had (and will have to) endure the same........!!!!!!
Yeah 💕
Herbert Grönemeyer.... This modern poet. He immortalized his love for his wife with this song. Herbert is one of the people who made me start writing my feelings into poems. When I see him in this video, lost in his thoughts, always looking up at his wife so that she can hear. This masterpiece is so full of emotion, full of love, full of despair and the beauty of the German language brings it all together. Yes, we Germans feel we have a word for every little point, no matter how unimportant. But this is exactly what Herbert exploits here and has immortalized in wonderful poetry. I love it so much.
Herberts wife and His Brother died within 5 days. After a Long Break He came Back with this Song

Herbert is one of the few "national treasures" we have in germany.
Wow
@@Glow_ree Listen to Bochum a song every german can hum and sing along,
watch germans dancin on the tables at any october fest when one of his anthems is being played he is also famous for.
And you might now him also or your father from his first success:
Lieutenant Werner, new war correspondent to report from a german submarine hunting and fightin the loneliness of the sea.
DAS BOOT was the famous anti war movie and his first success - but also part of a 6 hours long TV version about the german submariners. 40.000 left the harbours on their subs - 30.000 of those never made it back and still many missed in action where the fate and sinking is still unclear.
Ein Lied für die Ewigkeit!!!

I was 16 years old and was at the concert! Unforgettable
It's great to see your heart open up. This song makes everyone feel in love (again) for a couple of minutes.
💕💕
In 2003 I had this song played at my wife's funeral, she also battled cancer and lost (we lost).
Am sorry about your loss 🙏🏽
@@Glow_ree thank you, its a long time ago but here face is still in my mind
I feels so real, based it is real - this song is a requiem for his wife Anna.
This was the last song at my mom's funeral when I was 12...❤
Herbert was one of the Main Actors of 1981 6 x Oscar academy award nominated Film DAS BOOT from Wolfgang Petersen.
His beloved brother and wife have died within 2 or a few days each after the other, so kt was a tough time for him.
So he wrote this porwerful lyrics and Song in order to honor his wife and deal with his destiny.
Glück auf oder watt ❤❤
Grönemeyer is a legend. He even made a pop song for the city I grew up and live in.
💕💕
Bochum
An homage to his late wife. I read somewhere that his about 9 yo daughter at the time made him promise to not stop singing. Took him a few years to come back with this beautiful song.
Das Leben ist nicht fair... Ja. es stimmt. Danke Mama. Ich liebe DICH!!! 😢
It is a song about mourning his deceased wife. He sadly remembers the times he spent with her. In the last verse he sings: "I'm not leaving, I have extended my stay. I have you safely in my soul. I carry you inside me, until the curtain falls"
No wonder it felt so real 😭
A beautiful song dedicated to his beloved, late wife.
Woohhh 🥲
Imagine the struggle for words he went through to put his pain into words.
Very heartbreaked.... How you get in to THIS beautiful Lied....either you Are not original German...
Soooo lovely.
Herbert Groenemeyer got a looot of other Very sensitiv Songs ❤😮😊
I can understand your reaction. This song is a declaration of love to his late wife. Her death hit him so hard that he considered giving up singing. We have his daughter to thank for this, among other things, who asked him to carry on and to make the album "Mensch", which this song is from, to help him deal with the pain of loss.
💕💕
A great declaration of love and hope for a better world. Like his song about the war: Children in power. For a better world
Absolut
With this song Herbert literally "rose like a phoenix from the ashes". - There is another great quote that fits here in term so the the difficulties of the translation: "Music needs no translation, because it is speaking soul to soul"
I never thought that Americans would be interested in my German culture. Speechless. 😯
So many tears. But so much hope too, if we hear the message! ❤ Thank you! ❤
"Herbert Grönemeyer’s grief over his first wife, Anna Henkel-Grönemeyer, was profound and had a lasting impact on his music. Her death in 1998 from breast cancer left a huge void in his life and in the hearts of his fans.
How did Grönemeyer cope with his grief?
Music as an expression of grief: Grönemeyer processed his grief in many of his songs. Particularly well-known is:
"Der Weg" from the album "Mensch" (2002): A moving song that is directly addressed to Anna and describes her journey."
There was a reason why Herbert Grönemeyer wrote this song. The song Der Weg is a single from Herbert Grönemeyer's 11th studio album Mensch (2002). Since its release, the song has been accompanied by the narrative of coping with grief. The reason for the grief was Grönemeyer's loss of his wife Anna Henkel and his brother Wilhelm Grönemeyer within a few days. Very tragic indeed. As a human being, you have to get over the painful loss of your wife and brother, which is not easy. Life really isn't fair often.
Ich heule jedes Mal...😊😊
Ich auch!
His voice is indeed very soothing.
And sends the message right 💕
Yep you have right its for the whole World for everybody👍
💕💕
Thank you❤
You're welcome 😊
Herbert!
When your beloved wife partner child dies it is so hard to get back on your way it is so difficult
He wrote the song in poetry for his wife, who unfortunately died too early and had to leave this world because of cancer.
😖
after his Wife and brother dies, he never wanted to sing anymore but his 9 Years old Daughter wanted that he sing again after 5 years without any music in his life
No thank YOU for watching! it´s a masterpiece and i´m glad you enjoyed it!
Herbert Grönemeyer was a main-actor in the movie "das Boot".
This summer i lost my best girlfriend . We always think there is so much time left we have , sometimes we have less time we can spent together as expected.

This Song was dedicated to his wife, who died due to cancer.
4 days later his brother died also
@@lorenzsabbaer7725 His brother died four days before his wife. But I think that's of secondary importance. The fact is that he lost two very close family members in the space of a week.

if you could only understand what he´s singing. You can only appreciate the beauty of this song, if you speak german. The subtitle is really good tho. But not perfect.

This song ist old. It’s against the duty to go to the military. We won. It is no duty anymore. 😉

Basically, it's a disgrace to "react" to such an emotional video. This song is a reminder of what was dear to him and nobody has the right to generate clicks with it. There are so many reaction videos to this song and most of them come from English-speaking countries, but there will never be a proper translation to convey what is being sung here. It's a disgrace to cry because you think you understand something but actually just want to generate clicks. Shame on you!
Shame on you actually. This is a platform about videos and to generate clicks, if you didn't realise yet.
People share their takes, emotions, experiences..........whatever it is.
Everybody that comese here is voluntarily here and usually because they enjoy it.
And then there are people like you, hate watchers.
So nope, the only disgrace is you and your reaction.
Wonderful song! But this “someone reacts” format to generate clicks and please Germans is so incredibly embarrassing!

Was Bitteschön soll daran dann gekünstelt sein?
Hauptsache erst mal dumme Kommentare schreiben. Gelle. 😉
Also Schnäuzchen halten!
