During this tour, Dave was 39 so he was still a young buck and a great front man. I personally loved this tour. Walking In My Shoes will be played in other tours.
Glad you enjoyed it...a great stripped back version of my favourite song ever. I really enjoyed this tour, it was their first full world tour after the "shenanigans" of 1993-97. Dave was a beast on this tour, limitless energy! 🥰 Dave's back tattoo was done for the 1993-94 tour, it was his wings for the tour, based on an old celtic symbol put on gates of old houses to ward away evil spirits and it is so stunning! 🤗🤗🤗
Please forgive Dave for Halo. That is just a high tempo song... with high kicks! And he was saving his voice for the rest of the show I think. If you're enjoying Dave's stamina now, just wait until I Feel You and Personal Jesus. I think his nods to Elvis are quite mesmerizing combined with that raw energy. It's so wonderful to see that, given all the band's been through. Dave especially looks like he's just riding high on life because he very nearly lost his for good. There's a reason they call him The Cat. His voice at times is a little off, but I just revisited Touring the Angel in Milan (e next tour from 2006) and he's improved a lot. I hope you're feeling better!
“Some people say it’s one of the worst tours” You haven’t listened to some songs yet. Especially some bonus tracks with encore and the song after the next one) Maybe people watch only concert movies.
This was a good performance, the thing that helps Dave on this song is that you don't need to have a large vocal range. No higher notes. Energy is very good. The drummer is Christian Eigner. There are some very good gems upcoming and Dave's voice does shine on some tracks, and the crowd participation is nice.
This song is more forgiving of the state of Dave's vocals, given its lower register. But you're right, Martin's vocals are too low in the mix. So damn handsome, Seph.
Hows you today Brad? keeping busy? Wanted to thank you for your Email "Only just got it for some odd reason as my phone doesn't notify me straight away as it should!" I think I'm lacking essential vitamins too! It explains my illnesses I'm gonna take your advice and change up my diet to incorporate the things I'm lacking!! Thank you Brad ❤️
@@SephPlays I'm doing well. Our presidential election is on Tuesday. I've been completely consumed with the daily news events leading up to it. There's a lot at stake. I'm glad to hear my email has been well received. It's a topic I know quite a bit about, but is one of such a personal nature. I tried to keep my recommendations as simple and targeted as possible. As you can no doubt tell, I care a great deal about you, and as such it pains me to see you struggle with repeated illnesses over a relatively short period of time. I felt I needed to reach out and share some basic information that could make a significant difference in your well-being. What you do with it is your business.
Martin is barely there. It is a pretty annoying problem with half of their mid-age tours. Like, Im seriously can't understand such overlooking. There is a real time sound technician at the booth all the time, who can hear overall sound, like in actual environment, just like visual one or light technician, and can't just tune one singer up a little, so they will evenly match for more harmonic sound?
I love this tour, i really do, but… i think the problem is those vocals - in my opinion especialle Dave’s vocals are too loud and too dry. He sound a bit too harsh. Like he’s angry or something 🙀 Like they do not fit in the mix with instrumentals.. Yes, well… 😊
Not the best version in my opinion...you talk about Martin backing vocals. Yes, it's hard to hear him and once again, this live mix is one of the worst with Spirit In The Forest...I have that feeling that the sound is direct from the soundboard and that's all. The best one is the MTV pro shot 98 in Cologne (only 9 tracks). Amazing audience, Amazing sound, Amazing natural film making. It's to see, really.
This concert would be so much better if it was mixed better. The drums are weak in this (see touring the Angel, so much better) Martin and Dave are all over the place in the mix. The second to last song of this concert is the worst performance of said song, heads up.
Wonderful concert! Don't let the "ex"-citers plant seeds in your head. This tour has some outstanding performances.
Even though for me this is their worst tour you are correct, it’s not all bad.
@88strange88 At least Dave's not sporting a pencil mustache here.

The drummer's name is Christian Eigner.
And the extra keyboard player is Peter Gordeno
Yes
The new boys
Christian is an A-MAZING Drummer.... as You'll come to Hear!!
Told you, never assume. He was saving up for the big one.
It’s a great concert, it’s a more acoustic, stripped back gig, just enjoy
t's one of my very favorite songs of theirs. You have done/are doing a great job watching and commenting on all those tracks,, cheers matey.
Yes! I love this song❤❤❤

Yeah Dave was physically peaking here at that time😂
I concur. 🔥🔥🔥
One of my favourite songs live! By the way you forgot Freestate from Ultra

You need to watch this recent video "In Tune with Martin Gore and His Signature Anniversary Center Block | Gretsch Guitars"
You can hear Martin's voice here, maybe your headphones have too much bass. But yes, much too low! :)

I can hear Martin. Maybe you don't because of the headphone's sound.

Dave loses his shirt a lot. I'd hate to see the budget! haha
Take a look of live in Berlín 2014 same song and You Will be petrified,,,13 years after and much more better
Martin was completely alcoolic at that time!

Seph, you need to watch this one! It's not as flashy, but it hits the spot

I listened to some concerts filmed by fans from 2001 and drums sounded really good!
