They went above and beyond compare to other CS stories on these newer 2011s coming out. I think the customization of the Platypus is more what you are looking for.

Technically the platypus is not a 2011. As far I know a 2011 platform is a 3 piece design. But it is a great platform

Yes they did. That's why I wanted to call that out in my review. I would love to pick up a Platypus but my wife has banned me from any firearm purchases in 2024...lol Thank you for your comments.

Good review. Im a 45acp guy myself. Waiting for some of these new and old companies to start making some double stacked 45s in the 2011/2311platforms.

Great video, glad oracle is taking care of you. Almost makes me want to keep mine.lol. yeah, that's a shame the rmr plate doesn't allow you to co-witness, the plate for the DPP allows you to if you switch out the front sight but then it won't fit in my holster. Appreciate your honesty and the shoutout. Totally agree once it's broken in, taking it apart and putting it together is a lot easier.

I hope you keep it but I think you have a 2011 buying addiction...lol That was me last year and the wife put the brakes on me in 2024. So, I'm trying not to let you influence me on that DWX video.🤞

@@claymac2011 I caved and had a prodigy for a bit, but seemed like they didn't put very good fiber rod in front sight. Mine melted on first range day. I'm like yeah i'll just wait to see what comes out more affordable in the future. Haven't played with a 2011 since lol I'd rather buy ammo and shoot what I have now. Hard to build a high quality arsenal when you didn't even own a gun before 2020. Just initally getting ammo and stocking up was a real bitch and not too mention when everyone would tell stories about gun and ammo prices from just 10 years ago... I'd have so much more stuff if I had started sooner. My family wasn't a fire arms family. once 2020 hit lol that all changed fast

@@claymac2011 great laid back honest content by the way. Nice keyboard too!! mines black.. you rock their laptops? if so what do you think? I've had 0 issues with the 2 i have and ones pushing 10 years old now.. and before you tell me i could have bought a staccato for the price of them lol I do know that.. but you have to feed staccato's brother lol

I have a compact and received mine late October 2023 and my compact has zero rock and a very smooth slide. I also placed a Leupold pro red dot and they send the tactical front site which I replaced and it absolutely co-witnesses. I find it be such a nice handgun, I have recently ordered the compact pro. I have Staccatos, bul armory, nighthawks and sigs. For the money and design it is a very cool and nice shooter.

She's a fun gun to shoot for sure. I wish I could shout its praises but my experience with fit & finish hasn't been great. I do believe folks like yourself and others have a had a positive experience with their sample size but mine just doesn't stack up. I'll trade you my compact for your Pro model once you get it? 🤣Thanks for watching and appreciate your feedback.

@@claymac2011 Well actually canceled my order for the pro as the only real difference is a ported barrel and slide cuts. I feel I can have that done to my own compact, however, I do not feel it needs porting as it shoots fairly flat and smooth. I also get concerned when no one is talking about the pro model online so not thinking they are moving these things as they should.

    • @claymac2011

I totally understand since I have everything on my gun except the ports. Everyone at Shot Show loved the compact pro but I haven’t heard much from regular users like us. Hopefully will start getting some real range reports from us common folks 😂

I have the standard model running very good no issues. I have a rmr hd on mine. Had to do some milling to get it to mount up. I have asked OA to maybe redesign the rmr plate to accommodate those who want to run a sro or hd on theirs.

@@claymac2011 I'm a dpp guy for many years also have a rmr both are great optics. Hd is awesome. Had a shooting pro try it and would not give it back...sold it to him and got another. The hd performs better on my 2311 than the dpp. I ran the dpp on my other 2011 for many years

So you consider the 2311 in the same line as Staccato, in that line of duty guns, how does the 2311 do loading and shooting Federal HST, Hornady, Sig V-cown?

I can't confirm with those brands but I shoot Pilgrim Ammo for my defensive rounds. It's a 50 grain +P 2000FPS and it handled it just fine. Thanks for watching.

It is absolutely over priced. Doesn’t feel any better than a higher end p320.

The Prodigy has better slide to frame fitment and a better grip. Bull barrel also.
If Oracle could get the thing to have slide feel like a 1911/2011 with a bull barrel they mite have something.
A staccato P is a few hundred more than the “2311”..
