How do you decide between an OA Defense 2311 and a Staccato P 2011? It’s a very tough decision and there is no wrong decision in this head to head comparison. Both pistols are duty pistols which run like a race gun.
The OA Defense 2311 or Oracle Arms 2311 is packed full of features and we did a full review. It’s been flawless. The optics plate system and P320 magazine compatibility is unmatched. It’s much better than the Staccato 2011. Both pistols are great choices. The Staccato P is carried by loads of law enforcement officers across the country and approved for LEO to carry in hundreds of different departments.
The biggest change between the two is a link less vs linked barrel or bull barrel and CZ Shadow type barrel design. The 2311 is cheaper yet sure doesn’t feel like it. These are premium pistols and blow the doors off your commonly owned G17 or Sig P320. The reality is no striker fired pistol will be better than these. We tested ammo types, reliability and shootability.
Want to hear our final thoughts? Want to see how the two perform? You gotta watch to find that out but there is not a wrong choice here!

Two things... 1) The Staccato P is approved by over 1500 departments (not the 300 you stated in the video). Source: Staccato > Stories > Law Enforcement > Reliability 2) You made it appear as if an Optic Adapter Plate comes with the pistol. It does not. The P only comes with an optics cover plate. If you spec your optic while ordering from the Staccato site, the additional price of the optic adapter plate is rolled in to the add-on price of the optic selected. If you order the RMR, the price is $650 ($500 for the RMR and $150 for the adapter plate). When viewing base models at your FFL, they are displayed only with cover plates and usually there is a display off to the side with various optic adapter plates available for separate purchase ranging from $150-170. Aside from those two items... The review is pretty much on point.

LE purchases come with the RMR optic plate at no extra cost. I've got three, no added cost. Plus, Staccato will loan a pistol to replace a pistol used and taken as evidence in a duty shooting. You can't beat that if you're LE.

@@packerjansen12 They might be approved for use in those departments but I only know of the US Marshals that can get them issued. I am not aware of any other department doing so.
The officer themselves have to get written permission to carry their own personal firearm that they purchased themselves. I would certainly like to see this list of 1500 departments. None of the major Federal Government branches like the FBI, CBI, etc etc issue or approve of Staccato firearms to be carried on duty. Maybe SWAT or any Major crimes unit, but I know LAPD and Denver PD for sure doesn’t allow it.
A very good firearm but not remotely as reliable as the approved firearms on the FBI, CBP, CIA, Secret Service lists of duty firearms etc.
I am not aware of one SF branch using or carrying Staccatos. They are not battle tested or approved.
I am an Advanced Glock armorer and a majority of police officers don’t even know how to disassemble, clean and lubricate their Glocks, let alone put them back together. Spring’s are flying all over the place and losing parts in an armorer class.
So, the idea that officers are shelling out $3000 including light and Red dot for a Staccato P is very unlikely. To this day, I have never met an officer carrying a Staccato. I have met some that owned a Staccato but not for EDC duty usage.
If any officers on this thread reads this, please comment your experience and what you carry. Thank you!

I think that the 2311 grab the good from the 1911/2011 and reject all the old garbage nonsense like the extractor, the grip safety and the ridiculous expensive magazines without mentioning the fact that she doesn't need hand fitting, that is mandatory for a good reliable 1911/2011. You can do something much easier than that. Put the P up against any 9mm Glock with 3K of ammo on the table for each pistol. No adding lube and no stopping to clean. 1911/2011s are sweet shooters but they need to be well lubed... and well lubed OFTEN (compared to Glocks). I don’t think the OA meets the quality of staccato. The guns are NOT fit the same.
P’s can be had for 2100 ish pretty easy.
Why OA couldn’t make longer grips instead of that chungus magwell?
Many had serious issues that OA wouldn’t fix.
    They are everywhere around here.
    The 2311 is a 1500-1600 dollar pistol.

Prices vary based off location, availability. MSRP is used to standardize. You are right they are not fit the same and different pistols. To say one is fit significantly better than the other can’t be said when you compare the two side by side. What are the issues? I’m curious what they are

@@HuntFishShootChannelto say the fit and finish of the 2 is even remotely close to the same tells me one doesn’t have much of a mechanical understanding and definitely no real gun smithing experience.
Nothing wrong with that at all if said person can admit it. Most can’t and will go to great lengths of making crap up and contorting words to continue their arguments.
You can fell the difference as soon as you pick both guns up. The difference is further shown by simply racking the slides and dry firing them.
“Mr. Nobody” on RUclips goes into good detail about the issues he found with his 2311..
The guy is probably one of the most down to earth “gun-tubers” I have ever met. Not only that but posses good enough mechanical skills to find the root causes of issues and fix them himself self.
Again. I don’t think the OA 2311 is a bad gun. It’s on par with some of Sig’s higher end p320’s

I sold my Staccato P for a customized Platypus that uses Glock mags, it is a better firearm in my opinion. I wouldn't get rid of my XC though. But after shooting the OA, I ordered one.

Both are great pistols and you cannot go wrong… however, the clear winner is the Stealth Arms Platypus with its Glock Mag compatibility, slightly less costly price tag, and infinitely many customization options right from the factory 🙌🏼🤌🏼

Those are very nice guns however, as someone who likes Glocks, I don’t know why people like Glock mags so much. I’ll take metal mags over them any day of the week.

@@HuntFishShootChannel Because unlike Glocks, Glock mags are cheap and they work. The only ones I can think of that are metal, that cheap, and reliable are Beretta 92 mags because there's so many out there.
