Shin LIm is without a doubt the best Sleight of Hand/Illusionist in the world today. I've never seen anything like him. He's been grinding so hard and he definitely has earned his spot.
One of the best but not the best. If you talk about the person with the best slight of hand technique I would say Benjamin Earl and Richard Turner, and Javi Benitez comes in second close. There are a lot of great magicians that are in the same level as Shin. Daniel Madison, Chris Ramsey, Eric Chien, Jorge Blass, Javi Benitez, Ryan Hayashi, Shawn Farquar, Joshua Jay, Kostya Kimlat, Benjamin Earl, Eric Chien, Richard Turner and I can go on for all day. But Shin is in my top 5 maybe even top 3 he is amazing
no hes not, hes no where near the top magicians, hes earned his spot because of hot UNIQUE he is with regards to his style. the majority of his tricks are taken from old magicians
@@fintogive8704 that's what I said. He has great skill, really at the top, but no close to the best. His performance style and originality makes him get into my top 5 though
Definitely not the best! Go to a magic store...nearly all of the tricks he performs can be bought. All you need is a grand or so and a little practice and you can be another dime a dozen magician of today. Peter Marvey and Sylvester the Jester wipe their ass with Shin Lim.
I saw some of his other videos on his channel and he is a genuinely humble yet confident dude. He treats everyone the same and doesn’t seem affected by the sudden success. His life story of when he couldn’t play the piano anymore and then later when he injured his hand is inspiring. Wish more success to him!
This is perhaps the most impressive and airtight trick I've seen from Shin Lim. Can't believe he has this on top of everything I saw on the show w/ Penn and Teller and AGT 🤯

Larry, I've been a fan of yours for years. Great to see you giving Shin Lim a nice presentation. Your look was priceless, early in the trick, when Shin shook the card and turned it into the other one. Shin says, 'you've probably seen that before.' And you're looking like, 'What the hell just happened?' Thanks for the video!
Shin lim is the most humble magician i ever seen.. everytime people compliment on him he just laugh and say " thx " 2.42 and he said easily " it's just a trick anyone can do that " " That's the part of confusing " 👍👍👍👍
That must be the most satisfying thing for magician when the viewer says "I SAW YOU DID THAT, I SAW YOU, THERE'S NO DOUBT" When the viewer has actually no idea what they just saw, they know what they think they saw, but that's usually not what they saw.
It's amazing how me as a magician in training already have a clue on how he does most of his stuff but he still amazes me every time he does ANYTHING, you are huge Shin
I finally come to understand why Larry king is a legend. He is genuine and sincere, and he sure is not part of any trick. Shin Lim is already a bigger legend, all validated as a magician of his own league.
Sec 0:26 he splits the deck but he displayed the card that was at the bottom . It was his pre selected card . You can watch in slow Mo. 0:54 He is signing two card at time you can see the crease. Which was pre selected you could do anything. 1:19 He has shaking thetwo card at time one at bottom and top . While he was shaking
At the beginning I think there are three cards involved. A card with two backsides, the eight of clubs and the four of hearts wich are always hold back to back. At 1:15 you can see it when he turns over the "two" cards. The four should be below, but is on top, because it is the backside of the eight. At 1:19 you can see that again. The four facing Larry has the eight on the backside. Again at 1:29 when he turn the tored cards. At 1:38 you can see 3 spikes on top which indicates that there is more than one card. For the rest: I have no fricking idea.
After watching it again and again I finally understand how he did it or at least I have a good guess. Here is it explained below. The card Shin Lim is using to get Larry's signature is a special card. First try to understand how the card is made then I will show you the evidence in the video where it proves my point. The card is actually made of two cards both folded at the center and joined with some glue at the center like a butterfly. This also makes the card printed on both sides. Although it looks like a single card but actually they are two special cards in which one half is 8 of clubs and the other half is 4 of hearts. Both cards are folded at the center and then glued together to give appearance of one card. First he gets the sign on one face of the card 8 of clubs, then he shuffles the card and bring the other face of the card to get larry's sign again on the other side of the card that is 4 of hearts. Notice in each case he does not show the back side of the cards because that will expose the special card. There is another special card which has back to back printed on it. I call it special card 2. Now here is the first evidence. When Shin handed the 4 of hearts to Larry he actually is giving him the special card 2 which is printed back to back. Notice at 1:15 when shin is taking back the card from larry the black card is on the bottom and the red card is on the top. Both cards are oriented face to face. But at the next moment when he flips them the cards are now facing back to back! This proves that both cards are printed on both sides. The first card I have already explained has 8 of clubs printed on one side and 4 of hearts printed on another side. The special card 2 has same back printing on both sides. You can confirm this again at 1:28 after tearing the cards in half the cards are facing back to back. But as soon as he flips them the cards again change orientation to face to face. The cards are not changing orientation magically! They are printed on both sides as explained above. Let's discuss the best part of the trick. The tearing and joining of the cards. You should understand how the special card is made. It is hard to explain and hard to imagine from the lines of text but I have tried my best. When he tears the card he is just disjointing the glue between the two cards joined at the center. The sound you hear of the tearing is of the special card 2 which is on the back. Once he disjointed the two cards he can now unfold them into two cards. Both of these cards are specially made they have half side printed with 8 of clubs and other half printed with 4 of hearts. When he attaches the two halves at 1:37 he unfolds one card back and holds with his right hand behind the other card which is still folded. This explains how the card magically holds itself and starts to join. Carefully look at his every step with this explanation you will understand how he pulls this off. I cannot explain his every move because this will require a lot of writing. Finally he just shows the two special cards unfolded. Although I understand this but it is still an amazing trick. Amazing sleight of hands. Huge respects to this guy.
Thank You for your comment, I was looking for an explantion from a while , I 've already cath everything exept the last part, I thougt it was a double face card at the beguining but whith your explanation i understand more clearly, i still have some questions So it meens the cards he presents to the spectator to sign, are in fact two half of cards stuck vertically? So why the cards looked perfectly normal and there is no sign of a cut? Also it means by folding the card , He stuck the two half of the card each other? But at 1:38 he dont seem to struggle with (If you see mistakes sorry i dont speak english ^^')
@@vertchamp1078 there is no sign of cut because the cards are not cut they are printed that way. He just disjoints the glue in the middle. The reason it looks so normal is because of the way shin holds the card. Notice that he never hands over the card to larry. Because larry might observe the fold. He is holding and manipulating the card with such dexterity that it is hardly noticeable. That is his true talent amazing sleight of hands and with amazing speed. Also notice before tearing the cards he bends it and creates a crease. This is because no one in the end would get suspicious on central crease on both cards. You can see in the end when he gives the cards to Larry that both cards have a crease in the middle. This is actually because the cards are folded in the middle! I forgot to mention in my first comment that at 1:02 when he flips the cards you can see that the cards are changing orientation from face-to-face to back-to-back, because they are printed on both sides. I hope this clarifies.
God damn it! I think I know all the possible moves he made (very basic moves + creativity), yet in the meantime I didn’t know when or how he did it. And I just don’t wanna know because it was so beautiful.
Mr. Larry King, you are the Best. It is a Dream of mine to do well in life and get interviewed by you. Thank you for the years of Great Entertainment. :)
Excellent technique. I'm not a magician but I caught it the first time. Firstly it was a card force. Larry signed on both sides of 1 card (single card with 8 clubs on one side and 4 hearts on the back). Shin did a double lift and gave the illusion it was 2 separate cards. The follow up is self-explanatory. He flips it 3 separate times to show you the back face of the card which if you think about it doesn't make sense if it was 2 separate cards. Then he uses an adhesive back to glue the cards together (he folds it and presses it). Its obvious when you see the dog-eared corner not stuck properly. Knowing the trick is the easy part. Executing it so precisely is the real magic.
I'm pretty sure that's not how it's done. He glued it before the show by tearing the cards backs off and glueing em back together in a different manner. It is one card, but it is made out of 2. Look for ""the best torn and restored card 100 tours de magie" on youtube and you'll see it, the trick itself is called siamese waltz
1:26 I cough him there, when he turns the pieces it is obvious he was using double faced car from the beginning. Must have been gimmick to allow for quick restoration, really impressive presentation though. he does it on 1:02 too
Lary, I believe there is CARBON PAPER behind every card. And there were two cards which are mix of those two original. These mix cards are placed on the back. When you signed or drawn a pic ,those mix cards too get inked with(due to carbon paper) same signed. THEN Sleight of hands replaces mixed cards with drawing or signed with original two cards.
The trick is in the 8 of clubs, notice when he first introduced the deck of cards. The 8 of clubs is on the bottom of the deck and his quick sleight of hand brought that card up as the chosen one. I'll explain the second part later after I'm done preparing the 8 of clubs.
i'll tell u how it's done. this is a special deck that the cards have a special adhesive that makes them stick together.that's why he took tons of time putting the 2 cards together to stick. It's a trick deck.. not a real playing deck.

So nice guy, your hair is so cool, I like your magic, support you.
Damn thats hard to imagine, make a video!
The trick is in the 8 of clubs, notice when he first introduced the deck of cards. The 8 of clubs is on the bottom of the deck and his quick sleight of hand brought that card up as the chosen one. I'll explain the second part later after I'm done preparing the 8 of clubs.
Larry king must be like 90 years old! Dude is blessed.
When he say" it is just a trick"..... Lmao
You know it's a good trick when hardly anyone in the comments tells us how it's done.
i'll tell u how it's done. this is a special deck that the cards have a special adhesive that makes them stick together.that's why he took tons of time putting the 2 cards together to stick. It's a trick deck.. not a real playing deck.
claude878878 Yeah catch it too, And is using a 2 Douvle face cards , But how can he Destroy and fuse the card?
Get him on the show again Larry!
