    I find on fool us that the tricks that don't fool them are usually more entertaining than the fooler tricks. Both his performances are among the most entertaining on the show.

    • @bones343
      @bones343 5 лет назад +75

      Yep. The really good magic and slight of hand, the stuff that performs awesome, Penn and Teller know all that. So with few exceptions, to "fool" them performers do worse tricks, or tricks with many different solutions, and hope that Penn and Teller miss something silly or guess wrong. Fortunately many that come on Fool Us are still willing to put on a good performance first and foremost with the goal of fooling them secondary.

      @@bones343 Thats what I was thinking. For a lot of tricks that 'fool' them, it seems that there are multiple ways of performing the trick, and since penn and teller only get one shot, its not the most fair if theres 3 or 4 plausible solutions.

    I know the ultimate goal of this show is about whether or not a "magician" fooled penn and teller or not. But as penn had said before, there are magic, and then there are juggling. To me you are one of, if not the best, card juggler that has appeared on this show before. The physical and mental juggling required to pull this trick, and the trick you performed the first time on FU, is truly truly world class. To me, a great magic trick is not one of those I can't figure out, but those that I know exactly how it is done, but I know I will never be able to perform because it is so damn hard. Absolutely amazing.

    I agree with Penn on this, it's tiring to see all those "set up storylines" that never pay off. It's tiring to hear people talking about something just to break the ice into a trick and never pay it off.
    I love the Chekhov's Gun approach to storytelling, pay off EVERYTHING you start, even if that payoff is weak, it's better than it not existing.

    I mean as soon as a trick like this is starting without a shuffle (not counting the initial false cut), it’s obvious that the deck is sorted.

      Jeeper1378 doesn’t explain how Alyson managed to cut to a card even she didn’t know.

      All the cards near the center were Queen of Clubs

      Jeeper1378 how would he have set that up? Just before he starts that section he just pulls the cards together sloppily and quickly.

      TheDirtyGoatee it wasn’t as sloppy as it seemed. Every exposed card up to that point was put at the top or bottom of the deck.

    The previous act was crazy, and this one was so thoroughly enjoyable.
    Love the fact that you focus on a word and the meaning it gives to your act. Just absolutely loved it! ❤️

    When parts of the routine Fool both Penn and Teller, just at different moments, I'd say that's a winner! Jimmy deserves a big FU Trophy!

    The both tricks that you performed on fool us were truly incredible jimmy, after you finished them with your final blow i was in a long thought, that how you did those both tricks and was really expecting that you would fool them. But it was truly a masterpiece of your work and your skills that made those tricks beautiful.

    Incredible routine. I can't imagine the skill and practice that goes into getting this right, but it paid off well. And the reveal at the end was a great kicker - I didn't even see the deck switch your moves are that good.

    On your other video i commented that it was my favorite card trick on Penn and teller show. Wrong ! this one is my favorite. Well done sir.

    That's was incredible. I think he was telling the whole truth during that patter. He memorized the deck. The cuts were really as exact as he said. He was controlling the position of every single card when he "shuffled". The linked cards at the end had me stumped.
