Hi Steven, what a great but simple trick. I had not seen this method before, but I will use it for other tricks. Great presentation as usual. All the best TOB.

Very pretty trick and very well done. One suggestion I would offer for glimpsing the top card in the version where the spectator shuffles, is to casually spread the cards face up in the hands after they have shuffled, thumbing cards over rapidly, and saying something like, "You have shuffled these cards yourself, so obviously they are well mixed." In that manner, you can keep spreading until the index of the top card is visible and then proceed from there to get it reversed second from the bottom. This eliminates an unjustified move that could be detected.

They are Asi Wind's Inner Circle Playing Cards. They come in blue, red, or black back versions, and are available from Tannen's Magic for $18 per deck. IMO, the red backed ones are even prettier than the blue ones.

May be a braue reversal could help after the spectator shuffle, to reverse the card. It's an easy sleight that can be done openly. Don't even have to take a peak as the card you will reverse is the first of your face up deck. Nice trick anyway. Thank you.

So, I haven't gone to your explanation yet, but I notice things and look for things. You placed their card between the 4 of clubs and queen of Diamonds, but when you spread them, the flipped card is between the 4 of spades and Jack of diamonds. So, in a one on one, I would have called you out, but in a crowd, I would not. So now I will continue and see what is up. I'm the worst to do card tricks for because I'm always gonna say, can I shuffle them...... I suck. Let's see how you did it. Yeah, I'd still have to do the first version, I don't do fancy things with my hands. I don't even want to learn, although I understand the technique, you see, I only do tricks that anyone can do, I call it simpleton magic, because most people can't do the fancy handwork. I only know 3 tricks anyway.
Good enough I guess, I really do enjoy watching and learning your magic.

'Accidently' dropping a card means you can place it straight under the upturned card and negate the need to do the double undercut
