I’m 18 but I’m proud to say I grew up on shows that were airing in the 60s and 70s. Andy Griffith, Hogans Heroes, Gilligan’s Island, Three Stooges, and the big one...M.A.S.H. I still watch MASH and Andy Griffith. Westerns definitely, especially Rifleman, Bonanza, Rawhide, and Gunsmoke. Something I remember watching when my family would go camping in Pigeon Forge TN is the local channel where they’d play local wood workers, smiths, and people who did pottery.
The Andy Griffith episode where Barney says he knows the Preamble is one of the most hilarious one's ever! We get Andy Griffith show 4 hours in a row every afternoon. Love it!!
No TV in years since a power surge zapped ours. Catch the news on the radio. And for entertainment and inspiration, I watch some AT thru hikers & several favorite vlogs such as thepressleygirls and Celebrating Appalachia :-) However, years ago I did enjoy some of the westerns and other shows you mentioned.
Y’all are right there is nothing worth watching on live channels. I watch westerns and family type movies. You young women are a wonderful example for young girls.
I don't like many TV series, I prefer movies. But out of what you mentioned I have always loved Andy Griffith - the older black and white ones. The humor is great and Mayberry makes me feel good.
Yeah, we have roku too. I watch Andy Griffith, Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley.Waltons, LHOthePrairie, etc. I love Bonanza and Gunsmoke too. Maverick was one I grew up on too. I got into watching a documentary from Penn State, I believe, called The Darlene Chronicles and that led into watch people in Appalachia exploring old buildings, coal towns, old general stores and home places. I love it! I amost wish I could go back in time.
I watch mostly any sitcoms from 1985 and earlier. Hazel, Alice, Waltons, Adams Family, Munsters, Carol Burnette, Andy Griffith, Father Knows Best, LHOP, I love older British sitcoms like Keeping Up Appearances, Fawlty Towers, etc…. (I’m 48 & love rural TN)
How fitting that you’re sitting on Katies square body truck for this conversation … it’s all before your time almost, love that. I know everything you’re referring to💛😊 good stuff, history / nature/ cooking.. you can’t go wrong
Two of the best shows to watch is The Pressley Girls and Celebrating Appalachia! :) I love The Chosen, and when I was a little girl, I had my first crushes on Trampus and Roy Rogers lol! But I'm 62 years old now, and married for 39 years, so I had to dial that back. hahaha!
I have recently started watching Little House on the Prairie again. I had forgotten so many of the stories. I loved Magnum PI...but I think it was more Tom Selleck than the actual stories..LOL. Ya'll have a great weekend and God bless!
Exactly. So much TV is just getting entertainment from wickedness. Sometimes I watch a show until the nastiness starts and then I don’t watch it anymore. Watching RUclips videos like y’alls and documentaries, Early American, Frontier Patriot, RobWords, Sheepishly Me, clean comedy channels, Bible Q&A from pastors I trust (Mike Winger). That’s mostly it. I got involved in watching inappropriate content as a child and I struggle a lot with guarding my eyes. I don’t have a separate profile on any streaming platforms to guard myself, so my whole family can see what I have watched.
It has been almost 4 years since I watched tv. At first, it was difficult because I wanted to hear the noise especially at night. But now I don’t miss it at all. I like to listen to audio books when I am knitting or sewing. You both are not grannies…just smart and caring women!! Thank you for sharing.
Out of all the westerns, GunSmoke is my all time favorite. I never cared for Bonanza either. Andy Griffith is my favorite too. I totally agree with live stream being filth. We actually don’t even have a television. Things aren’t like they were when I was growing up. I appreciate you girls, just the way y’all are. Love y’all’s channel. ♥️
We LOVE Grimm too. For the older shows, sometimes we watch Green Acres, of course Andy Griffith, Hogan's Heroes, Gilligans Island like Matt said below. We also have a DVD of a show called "Petticoat Junction" that was on right around the time of the others. For new shows we love "Psych". It's a comedy about a "psychic detective" who is actually just very observant. Also love "Big Bang Theory". It's a comedy about science nerds who work at a college. I think you can see those on RUclips or Amazon Prime if you have a membership. ❤❤
If you get an antenna you can still get free TV channels. There are lots of them that are loaded with old re-runs. I watch old "All in the Family" episodes. James Arness from Gunsmoke used to regularly visit the bank where I worked. He was a nice old gentleman, very humble and very tall.
I don't know how I stumbled on your channel but I've been watching for a couple months now because you all do so many interesting things. I really enjoy your music, the devotional time, the rocks, the general conversations and everything else... Your channel is very peaceful. My favorite TV shows are the Andy Griffith Show, Gomer Pyle, The Westerns particularly Gun Smoke and Wagon Train. I also like What's Happening, Gilligan's Island and my all time favorite The Twilight Zone. I use to try watching some of the newer programs but in my opinion the quality of the older shows is just better.
Yay for The Chosen! They plan on 7 seasons. There is a channel on Roku called The Chosen with aftershocks, too. Really enjoy hearing your ❤s... Blessings to you both!
We ditched cable TV in 1989. Today, we watch cute twins from WNC on YT, as well as a Pastor in SC. That keeps me entertained and out of trouble! God bless you guys!
I neglected to say that I enjoyed hearing y'all talk about your likes and dislikes. Also loved watching the whole family pitch in and work on Corie and Austin's yard.
We haven't watched tv in probably 3 years. Ever since my hubby got so hard of hearing & refuses to get hearing aids, we stopped watching it. I can find so much on the computer to keep my occupied when I need something to see. Your choices to watch are so wholesome & good. Hugs!
My mama told me about ya’ll’s channel and I love it! I have a twin sister too. We are best friends! My twin sister Ashley and I have vintage souls! We love old movies and old shows like ya’ll do! I love watching the Andy Griffith show and westerns. I also love the Walton’s. We are from a small town in NC. We are both married and I have 3 kids. My husband watches ya’ll with me too! I love older clothes and antiques. It’s so good and refreshing to see sweet ladies like ya’ll that have a clean nice channel and are sweet Christian ladies. Love ya’ll!!!❤️❤️❤️
You young ladies are so sweet and inspiring. I had to laugh when Katie made the comment that you both were old grannies; how refreshing! I am 68 yrs young and always had an "old grannie" outlook on life and it has served me well. Favorite shows, how about "Little House on the Prairie"? 🤗 Love your channel and your Mom's also! Take care, and God Bless you and your Family Always!🥰🙏🙏🙏🙏
You should watch Miss Marple and Poirot too. British mystery shows that are clean and not the least bit gory. It’s sad you can’t watch much these days. Even Disney has some vile disgusting symbolism and disturbing content all over the place.
I find these days I watch almost exclusively documentaries on TV, and your vids along with your Mums. I am always interested in how others live and what their homeland is like, and your vids are fascinating. Thank you all.
This was fun! I enjoyed hearing your favorite TV shows. Like you, "The Golden Girls" is one my sister's very favorites. I bought her a trivia game and she knew all the answers, haha! My favorites are: "Little House on the Prairie", "Andy Griffith", and "Heartland" a Canadian series. Back when I was young and we had cable, Animal Planet station was so fun. Thanks for sharing! God bless you two!
Im an old granny woman my whole life!I love Leave it to Beaver and I Love Lucy , Andy Griffith and of course all the westerns. Love watching you guys too!
That's a good looking truck you got there. My wife loves a square body Chevrolet. We have warmer weather coming this weekend! I'm so done with this winter weather or cold temperatures anyway. The warmer temperatures are just going to put me to work on the yard and on the garden but I'm so ready to do some kayaking. To recharge, if you will. I like the Discovery and History channels. Oak Island...(look! A piece of hand sawed wood!) 😂! Thanks for sharing this video with us!
Call The Midwife is a British show that I have watched through 3 times. It’s all about midwives delivering babies in the 1950’s and 60’s, in various circumstances. A very heartwarming show. A couple inappropriate shows but overall decent.
"The Chosen" is AMAZING!!! They just finished the 3rd season. It is donor produced...amazing stuff! The actor who plays Jesus was interviewed after the first season. I loved what he said about playing the role of Christ. He said he can never portray Jesus's divinity, but he can portray His humanity. 💜
Enjoyed this ! I love the old western shows too ! Grew up on Gunsmoke, bonanza...also grew up watching little house on the prairie, highway to heaven, brady bunch, the partridge family...oh yeah and chips ...now I don't watch much TV, some old westerns. I love watching how to shows, and videos that show me how to prepare something or repair something...my favorites to watch are celebrating Appalachia, the pressley girls and a few more Appalachian channels...appreciate y'all always...God bless..🙏❤️
My mom got my first name from "The Virginian." Lee J. Cobb played judge Henry Garth but my mom liked the sound of it for a first name. As always love how wholesome you both are. I gave up broadcast TV in 2016 and I don't miss it.
Y’all are about half my age but I grew up watching Hee Haw with my grandma. I also watched Litlle House on the Prairie, Dukes of Hazzard, The Walton’s, Facts of Life, Silver Spoons, Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith, Gillian’s Island, etc. For the younger adult shows, I liked to watch Fresh Prince of Bel Air, Blossom, Alf, Scooby Doo, etc. I agree with y’all also- TV today isn’t good to watch. I actually don’t watch that much TV now. I usually have music playing when hubby goes to work. He is a Fox News fan!
You sound like you are sitting in our living room. 😀. We like a lot of the same things. From old westerns to oak Island, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, Walker, Texas Ranger---a favorite, And Griffith, The Man from Snowy River Saga, Murdoch Mysteries, I love Lucy and Golden Girls, and more. It was very interesting to hear what you watch. I watch a lot when I crochet and my husband watches the most when he is playing games on his phone. I have physical issues so the TV is on more. God's blessings over you! ♥️♥️
I loved the opening scenes from inside the truck and then the truck going down the road. I also enjoy your other videos showing nature, especially the babbling brooks and streams. You take time you enjoy the beauty of nature. Thanks
The start of your video reminded me of a music video! I used to watch CMT country music television to watch all the music videos that were out I was hooked on that. Now I watch reruns of some of the older shows too. Wonder years, The Waltons, little house on the prairie , Dr. Quinn medicine woman, Touched by an Angel are my favs .
As always thank you for sharing! Growing up my all-time favorite, watched every episode was MASH think I started around 74 or 75 I was real young and I watched it all the way up till it went off the air 82 or 83. And I definitely watched a lot of the older ones you've talked about and I actually like Bonanza, Big Valley quite a few of them. Andy and Barney definitely ranks up there for sure. I used to like to watch the Discovery Channel and History Channel when they were more true-to-life documentary oriented. There is still good shows on there. One of my favorite series is Gold Rush currently. But I have definitely found a lot more interesting stuff on RUclips like you guys your mom Etc... easier to find more of the true to life type shows on RUclips. Thank you and you guys all take care!
I love documentaries too! And archeology is my favorite. I love the old westerns! I don't ever watch live tv not even the news. Especially not the news, lol. You girls are a breath of fresh air. Keep doing what you're doing and be yourselves. God bless!
I was raised on the TV shows my parents watched when they were kids but 2 shows for a reason. The first was the Red Skelton Show, he and I were friends from 1988 until he passed. More recently I was watching the western Cheyenne and from 2010-2018, the actor from Cheyenne, Clint Walker and I were friends along with his wife. Miss them since they both have passed
I do not currently own a television set and have not had one for many years. Some of the shows you mentioned, I remember from when I was a kid. I do look at RUclips quite a lot, and I enjoy it.
Yay! The Chosen. I love it. I know you don't want to pay but I love Acorn. It show British shows or New Zealand. But I love the cozy mysteries. Same with Britbox Father Brown mysteries or Sister Boniface. There are tons of good shows
I love that you girls like the old stuff. Yall have good taste. Wish we had more young generation that liked the old stuff. The new things are mostly just trashy.
I'm in my 40s, and I've been happy since ditching cable 15 years ago. I get my TV via antenna. I rarely watch TV much, but I enjoy ME-TV and Antenna TV. PBS occasionally has good shows, but I avoid anything made since the 1990s on television. Even the most tame; recent and new shows, somehow sneak degeneracy like sex, social justice issues or violence in their programs.
We don't pay for watching TV. We have antenna only and love it. By the way love your truck I'm a huge fan of the older vehicles. My "new" truck is a 02 Ford f150 4wd 😄I call that new. I got a 1989 Ford f150 4wd an my lil baby I call "pappy" he's a 1997 Ford ranger 2wd it's got 228,847 miles I love it. Everything is original. Dark blue dark tented windows extended cab 5sd it's got deep dish rims with 60's all around..SWEET! You two are great to listen to. Thanks for sharing your stories likes dislikes lifestyles it's all good interesting things to hear. You got morals that is rare in people now days. I was raised in church I'm a christian I have morals. My Dad is a preacher and he has just retired from pastoring. I'm very thankful to the good Lord for my wonderful family. I'm very blessed. Thanks for sharing some of yals life's. It's really good to hear. God bless everybody and have a good day 😊
Y’all are right about tv, it’s not what it used to be. I’d love to hear y’all talk some about pap, he sounds like such an interesting person so involved when your mom mentions him when she’s gardening that he coached ball and singing, working, gardening such a rounded person but I’d like to her y’all’s memories of he and granny. Love the show!❤
I have always liked Andy Griffith, Little House on the Prairie, the Waltons, HGTV, FOOD network, Hallmark, etc! I do like Blue Bloods, Law & Order SVU, to name just a few. I’m thinking of cancelling cable. Way out of price for what I watch. God bless you girls and keep those values you have. Love to all! 💕🤗🙏🏻
Fun video, fun topic. If you like mysteries and detective shows, without the 'gore', "Columbo" and "Monk" are both really good shows. 👍 Roku - You should try watching the vintage "The Price Is Right" shows ! It's so fun just to see what things used to COST back then, compared to now. Pretty eye-opening actually.... and the clothes and hairstyles are a hoot as well ! Fun. One more tip - if you can get any of the older British comedies that were on the BBC Channel, you have to watch "Keeping Up Appearances" with Hyacinth Bucket... she pronounces it 'bouquet'. She's a real gem. ❤️
I like all the old show's. I also love your girls channel down to earth and family friendly. The whole family cooking and hunting together. Gardening and canning and the music is awesome 👍👍. Keep doing what you ladies are doing God bless your whole family.
I love watching you girls. My Mom is from Taylorville, North Carolina. When I heard y’all’s accent it reminds me of what I heard growing up. My husband says I’m afraid of the letter L but it’s from my Mom’s accent😂
Hogan's Heroes girls! lol Your dad can probably help you with that show. Growing up, my dad loved to watch it while having dinner, we sure miss him, but I still love to watch it, and remember! Keep safe Y'all.
I gave up cable over a year ago. I don't miss it and there's more money in my pocket. I realized I only miss Turner classic movies. I get Pluto where I watch I love Lucy reruns. I can recite most of the dialogue in all the episodes in real time. I like old talk shows on tubi that are tucked away in my memory from when I was twelve years old when I waited for my mom to return from work around midnight. I don't have an appetite for murder stuff.
The original All creatures great and small was amazing. One show I hadn’t seen mentioned is Red Skelton, he was awesome, no profanity allowed at all, he started in Vaudeville then went to radio then tv. If and when he did a live tour his shows were sold out very quickly. The history of him is very interesting and also an artist, worth the watch. Enjoy. I am very pleased that you share your life with me and so many others, Ty ❤️🇨🇦
We got rid of TV watching eight years ago and honestly we don’t even miss it! We can rent movie’s or catch up on news on our phones. We have less noise and more peace. Lol
I grew up watching the Waltons and still watch it every day and never get tired of it. Love the History channel, Smithsonian channel, Andy Griffith, Mash, Green Acres. I hardly ever watch the new shows on the 3 networks.
Love you guys. I don't watch TV, haven't in years. Best thing we ever did canceling our cable TV. Really frees your mind. Can critically think again. Thank You Jesus. God bless you!!!
I like Murder She Wrote, Little House on the Prairie, and lots of shows on our local PBS/KET channels. We watch several shows that y'all mentioned, Seinfeld is a favorite!
Cable isn’t offered in the rural area where we live and I am so thankful! We don’t miss cable at all! We watch RUclips as our main tv, we also have PureFlix, it’s clean family friendly. We also have Netflix but rarely watch it. We also binge watch a series.
Golden Girls is my favorite old sit-com! There once was a show on called Picket Fences that I absolutely LOVED. It always had a great moral to each episode. So sad it was taken off the air. Judging Amy was a good one, too! Thanks for sharing ~ Pat Canfield
Girls first thing I LOVE THAT TRUCK!! ❤️ Funny that y'all watch the Gem channel, my daughter and I would watch the info commercials selling pots and pans or cooking appliances. Lol I agree with you on what to watch. There was not a better show then Walker Texas Ranger. Y'all are the best. ❤️
So true about all the trash on tv these days. Seems like anything goes. We do have cable and the price is outrageous. I always loved Matlock. Have you all ever watched Murder She Wrote? Touched by an Angel was always good. Blessings to you both and your families. I love watching your mom and dad’s channel. 😊
David Attenborough Had a show called Nature I believe, and because you both enjoy outdoors and the beauty there is to discover David takes you to those places as detailed as one can possibly do without going there. I hope you like that suggestion. David died not that long ago, but there are many shows that are still available that he narrated. Also thinking of some of the best westerns is the Saga of the Sacket family and written by Louis LaMore, a very very famous author of the western novels.
Definitely The Chosen. Nowadays I mostly just watch you tube. Since the Murdaugh trial, I have started watching True Crime. Back in the day I watched The Big Bang Theory and I own ALL the seasons. God bless you girls too!
Another great video. I love oak island and have watched since it started. We watch Pluto and RUclips anymore. You guys and your momma's channel are part of our line up for entertainment. God bless
Peacock has a lot of the old vintage sitcoms as well. Seinfeld, Married with Children and Roseanne to name a few. All of those plus Andy Griffith, Murder She Wrote, and Matlock are all so dear to my heart. Sending love from Arkansas 🫶

That's awesome Matt!
Andy Griffith was the best!
Best shows!
Perry Mason too
When TV was educational or at least not political. The good old days!
The Andy Griffith episode where Barney says he knows the Preamble is one of the most hilarious one's ever! We get Andy Griffith show 4 hours in a row every afternoon. Love it!!

I like to watch the Presley Girls on RUclips! Lol Your family are my kind of people. God Bless from Georgia ❤
As a Brazilian-American I'd like to say I appreciate you girls a lot. Love your wits, your talent, your accent! ❤😊
Awe, thank you!
That's why I like your channels! They are entertaining, but CLEAN!
I do not watch TV only the local news. You ladies are always on point. Blessings to you both and your family ❤
My favorite reruns are The Rockford Files. Hard to find these days, but very entertaining.

My favorite of all time is Heartland. It’s just a good, clean, family series. LOVE It!!!
My daughters loved that show!

I love your truck Katie. Y'all are young, old souls. Love you 2 bunches.
I also watched Litlle House on the Prairie,
Dukes of Hazzard, The Walton’s, Facts of Life, Silver Spoons, Gunsmoke, Andy Griffith, Gillian’s Island, etc.
Best ladies who surly have it all together. Proud of you. Lucky parents who could only hope their daughters would turn out half as good. Best!
The Chosen is my favorite show. Can’t wait for more seasons
I loved the opening scenes from inside the truck and then the truck going down the road. I also enjoy your other videos showing nature, especially the babbling brooks and streams. You take time you enjoy the beauty of nature. Thanks
❤️🙏
That’s cool!
I love listening to you two. You both are old spirited. God bless you both.
God bless everybody and have a good day 😊
We love to watch Little House in our house. I, to this day, have modeled my fathering after Charles Ingalls. Such a great show.
Love the show!❤
If you can find Monk, you would love it! He is so quirky!
You girls have a blessed weekend
You too!
Thanks sweetie
I have always liked Andy Griffith, Little House on the Prairie, the Waltons, HGTV, FOOD network, Hallmark, etc! I do like Blue Bloods, Law & Order SVU, to name just a few. I’m thinking of cancelling cable. Way out of price for what I watch. God bless you girls and keep those values you have. Love to all! 💕🤗🙏🏻
I watch you girls mostly. God bless you my friend.
Fun video, fun topic.
If you like mysteries and detective shows, without the 'gore', "Columbo" and "Monk" are both really good shows. 👍
Roku - You should try watching the vintage "The Price Is Right" shows !
Keeping up appearances I'd hilarious..My step Dad introduced me to that..
Keeping up Appearances is such a FUN show!!😄
I like all the old show's.
I loved the show Monk. For the longest time it was on USA network. Wish I could find it again.
That was a good one too!
You two are so real💕
I gave up cable over a year ago. I don't miss it and there's more money in my pocket. I realized I only miss Turner classic movies. I get Pluto where I watch I love Lucy reruns. I can recite most of the dialogue in all the episodes in real time. I like old talk shows on tubi that are tucked away in my memory from when I was twelve years old when I waited for my mom to return from work around midnight. I don't have an appetite for murder stuff.
All Creatures Great and Small is so good! It's a PBS show I believe can be streamed on Roku. Based on the books by James Herriot.
You girls are really well grounded. You're absolutely right nothing worth watching on live TV.
I love malcolm in the middle! And i loved y'all's rendition of carmen by Gene Watson, Keep up the good work!
Love both your old souls❤️❤️
🙏
I only watch RUclips and anything Alaska related shows. Glad I’m not the only granny millennial! God bless you both and keep fighting the good fight
I like Murder She Wrote, Little House on the Prairie, and lots of shows on our local PBS/KET channels. We watch several shows that y'all mentioned, Seinfeld is a favorite!
I just watch RUclips! Plenty of good stuff to watch there!😙
Cable isn’t offered in the rural area where we live and I am so thankful!
Morning ladies! Nice to see old red! I agree with roku .
Roku, Hulu, and Netflix are all streaming services.
Corie-
If you can get the station “getv”, magnum PI comes on at 5 pm central time so it could be 4 your time not sure.
I also like wholesome TV shows. The Waltons & Little House on the Prairie are 2 of my favorites.
Definitely The Chosen. Nowadays I mostly just watch you tube. Since the Murdaugh trial, I have started watching True Crime. Back in the day I watched The Big Bang Theory and I own ALL the seasons. God bless you girls too!
The Chosen is a wonderful gift from God🙏🏼🥰
Another great video. I love oak island and have watched since it started. We watch Pluto and RUclips anymore. You guys and your momma's channel are part of our line up for entertainment. God bless
Peacock has a lot of the old vintage sitcoms as well. Seinfeld, Married with Children and Roseanne to name a few. All of those plus Andy Griffith, Murder She Wrote, and Matlock are all so dear to my heart. Sending love from Arkansas 🫶
