    Hidden feature, The rear view mirror in my XLE Prem, has its LEVER which is adjustable on both ends of its stretch, for height and 360 degree adjustments. its cool, nobody mentioned it. Like a nice shower head.

  • @JoBiatch
    @JoBiatch 6 лет назад +2

    Jon, they did mark up the price by $5,000. You can see on the sticker there is a Fair Market Adjustment. The MSRP was $32,589 but total price was $37,589. That’s crazy price for an XLE RAV 4! I bought my ‘18 T4R TRDOR for $34,500. I was debating whether to wait for the new RAV 4 Adventure or the T4R and I’m glad I went with the T4R! New RAV 4 Adventure starts at around 33K, 3-4K more than last year’s model. Crazy.

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  6 лет назад +1

      Oh I didn’t even notice that. I saw dealer options but not that. It honestly just depends on how hardcore you plan to off road.

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  6 лет назад

      So after I look it’s everything from nitrogen and lifetime warranty but yes I saw fair market adjustment too

    • @JoBiatch
      @JoBiatch 6 лет назад +1

      Blue TRD Jon Yeah it’s almost all dealer profit because nitrogen costs about 10 cents, and they make more money giving you the lifetime warranty since all scheduled maintenance has to be performed by the dealer and if you miss one maintenance item your warranty is voided. I guess they can add the mark up since it’s a brand new redesign, but I sure won’t be paying it. I’ve been following the redesign closely and I do like a lot of things Toyota has done but kind of disappointed in the price, which is close to 4runner territory. Now I’m super anxious to see the 4runner redesign!

    • @TRDJon
      @TRDJon  6 лет назад +2

      Yes traditional dealership markups are annoying but I agree with you. But hopefully the new 4runner sticks it’s roots.

  • @JohnGoingAndDoingThings
    @JohnGoingAndDoingThings 6 лет назад +1

    Good coverage, thanks for the detailed coverage.
    The rear seat recline is similar to Subaru's Outback and Forester the last time I sat in one a few years ago.
    Some suggestions to the video is to measure the rear seat cushion distance to the rear passenger windowsill.
    As a parent, I care very much if my daughter can see out the passenger window as we go on car rides or road trips - she doesn't get an entertainment screen.
    I don't see anyone doing this, and I think it would be a good touch for "kid friendly" or "family friendly" cars.
    As far a measurements go, even measurements of driver seat height when fully adjusted for shorter drivers, like when I'm searching for a car for my wife.
    Example, some Tacoma models don't have height adjustment before, but the 4Runner does at an SR5 trim.
    Thanks Jon!

      Very very good points!! Will definitely try to incorporate that into future reviews. I hope to get more time with the cars in the future as well and have them in my own little quite area away from other cars and wind and road noise. This is not an XLE. It’s an XLE premium. Title is a little misleading as the XLE and XLE premium are different models with different options and features. As well as a $2,200 price difference.

      Ron Ulysses Swanson While I agree with you Toyotas are more reliable than Mazda, why do they have to keep making Toyota vehicles so ugly and cheap inside? That makes Honda my first choice. I'm not the only one who thinks that about their interior design and materials. They're way behind the curve on that score. It seems like they're clueless about it.

  • @omgitsme435

    Plastic everywhere.. And the most hard plastic inside. Was pretty disappointing in person. They put soft plastic on top of the dash but not on the doors or center console.. makes no sense. For 37k, that's insane.

      Mazda's are awesome vehicles, but it is a niche market in regards to the CX-5 ,kind of like the Tucson from Hyundai. Nice cars to look at and they drive good, but not as family friendly as a Toyota or Honda. CX-5 feels cramped inside and cargo area sucks, but it is an awesome driver. Tucson feels more roomier, but again cargo area sucks and driving dynamics not as refined as Mazda. Honda and Toyota- more room and cargo area and more bland style and drivingo dynamics. It just depends on your personal situation and preferences.
