If I ask nicely, will you all watch some of my ads all the way thru? That's how I get some love back from RUclips :) Thanks everyone you're the best! Pick your winners: 2019 RAV4 vs Highlander vs 4Runner.....it's a tough choice for many reasons. I can't wait to see what you all pick!!! Jeff
2019 Highlander / 2019 RAV 4: I have an 09 Highlander but downsizing so I think it would be a RAV4 but the back seats 3 pax but maybe tight. I guess I will focus on the Highlander. Thanx Jeff for comparison.
I watch your videos to the end, Jeff. You keep them fun and packed with information!
Hi Jeff! Great job! Thank you!!!
It’s also if you get subs, likes and comments #engagementrate
Make the 4 runner 25 mpg in the city, it would be the king of all vehicles.
Anonymous Suomynona for sure
For real tho
haha it would be funny that they listen to you and put 4 cylinders in the 4runner haha
If granma had a balls she would be a grandpa
@@minhphan8754 I’m pretty sure for the sixth generation it’s gonna be a turbo charged 4 cylinder
My dad's got a big orange 2018 rav4, I've got an 04 v8 4runner, and my sister has a 2010 Corolla. WE'RE A TOYOTA FAMILY!
Han my dad got a 05 Tacoma, I got a 2019 sequoia with TRD package and we just ditch our odyssey and got a 2020 Highlander! We slowly changing our Honda’s to Toyota’s!
Hi, I have a 2019 Tundra my oldest daughter has a 2015 Rav4 and the youngest has a 2013 corolla! And my sis has a 2018 Toyota 4Runner We are a family Toyota! Let's GO PLACES!
My wife and I purchased a 2019 Limited Platinum Highlander and its exactly like this one you described ONLY wayyyyy better with the added extras that come only on the Platinum trim,..hands down the BEST vehicle we have ever owned. No plans of trading it in on anything else anytime soon.
is it still running no problems ?
Although the 4Runner and Highlander have the same tow rating, I feel the 4Runner is much better suited for heavier towing with its rear wheel drive bias and full frame.
Three completely different automobiles.
If you off road 4 Runner is your only choice.
If you need a people wagon Highlander
If you want fuel economy Rav 4 hybrid.
MOST helpful comment!
@@michaelmartinelli1247 I'm single and I'm almost always the only person in my car, I love the look of the 4runner, I don't drive too much and work is like 25min commute, idk what I want
Demetrius Wilson, I own the Rav 4 hybrid 2019 XLE and I average 40 mpg.
For commuting it is a nice ride and last winter it handled great in 12 inches of snow on pavement.
My boss owns the 4 Runner and he has 250 k miles of reliable service.
The 4 Runner will cost you twice as much in gas vs my hybrid Rav 4.
If paying twice as much for fuel is not an issue, the 4 Runner has a lot of positives; 5,000 lbs towing and off roading capability using a transfer case to power all 4 wheels.
If you never plan to off-road or tow my choice would be the Rav 4 hybrid generation 5.
I can not justify paying twice as much for fuel when my automobile will never tow anything or leave the pavement.
the 4 runner is made entirely in Japan at their most prestigious plant
Tahara aichi
so are the rav4s....well most of them! and some new corollas!
Incredible job, thank you Jeff. That was so informative
Love the look of the Highlander! Waiting to see if the 2020 has Apple car play and a few other items. Thanks for the entertaining reviews ToyotaJeff!
4 years later, I appreciate the video, Jeff. Trying to decide between the Rav and the 4Runner, mainly, but impressed with what I didn't know about the Highlander, as well. Appreciate your goofiness, too, because that's also me! 😂 Funny stuff. And I watched all the commercials! 😀
It’s the ‘Savvy Ravvy’ for me, Jeff! Thanks for another fab video!
👏🏻Applause and 🗣 Hollah!
I’d prefer the 4 runner, but not enough power for such a big heavy vehicle. The Highlander seems to be the sweet spot among the three.
Awesome video jeff! I like all of them but rav4 is my favorite 😁
I love the 4runner.. for what i want to do which is overlanding amongst other things will fit me best. RAV4 and highlander are both beautiful vehicles.
Great comparison video
Got the rav4 and 4runner. Rav4 for family hauling and 4runner for when its need most in extreme weather in snow and rain. 4runner is just a storm breaker in snow, Rideheight cannot be beat for vision and its 4wd
I like this guy. Great sense of humor. Subscribed!
All are over priced so it's an a easy choice. Used from now on! And I've owned 4 Toyota's in the past.
Great video
Highlander XLE AWD, thought you has a choice between 2 roll or 3 roll seating?
I estimate my travel distance to work and back is a total of 28 miles and to the gym and back is around 22 miles total. I dont really go out and drive elsewhere so I am now considering the 4 runner.
I chose the highlander but I’m definitely considering the 4Runner for next time. 😁 Great video as always!!!
Any reasons why?
Love my 2016 4Runner but my commute, just became 68 miles each way. The 17 mpg is killing me. Looking to replace it with the RAV4 XSE hybrid.
I have a 2015 rav4 xle. I want to trade it in for the 4runner. It doesn't seem much bigger than the rav4? Is the 4runner bigger than the rav4 and highlander? I really like the 4runner because of the back window.
Hollah...! You are hilarious! Very helpful. Thank you.
Thank you very informative!
very detailed, thanks a lot.
I just got a 2019 Toyota Highlander LE AWD ; I absolutely love it ! I got it as my family car. It was between this or the 2019 Rav4 XLE AWD. The RAV4 just did not have enough power for me. Then I test drove the Highlander and I had to have it ! Do not regret it one bit !
Just got my RAV4! Love it Magnetic Gray!
Too small. Should have gone at least Highlander IMO.
CastrejonHDTV were waiting for the 2020 Highlander! We currently have 2015 Highlander! It’s excellent!
@@crxracer805 I want to trade my in for a rav4 or sienna. I'm single no kids but want the room for camping. Love the rav4 though. Only vehicle where the back window goes down.
4Runner all the way... I love mine!
Body welded to frame or body bolted to frame?
We chose Highlander XLE awd. It was the best fit for two young kids and a large dog. My wife and I fight over who gets to drive it. Love how comfy it is. No wonder people keep them long term!
Ryan very reliable! Toyota is known for longevity!
I got the 2021 RAV4, love it. Drives like an SUV and not a crossover.
Lots of features, good on gas. And is comfy for me. Waiting to put bigger tires (yes it’ll drop my mpg a bit) but I’m getting 29 mpg overall. So if it drops a few is okay.
I used to have a big V8 vehicle. I wished they made a V6 RAV4 in the future.
If you want the v6 why not just get the 4runner? Or highlander.
Love my 4Runner!
Amy you win for 1st comment and your awesome 4Runner!!! woohhoooooooooooooo! jeff
Amy Race does gas get expensive? And is a good mountain bike car
The Tacoma and 4Runner seem to keep their value very well. But the Highlander seems to drop in price pretty quick. Any reason for this?
Body on frame reliability. Also for 4runners they’re all built in japan.
Why don't you include the MPG for all three vehicles?
Can it store and transport anything other than furniture?
The 4runner works for me, I’m happy because of the shtf capabilities.
Depends what you’re going to do with it. I love the design of the 4runner but I got the rav4 hybrid because 99% of the time its going to be a daily driver, and maybe some road trips. If youre really into off-road, 4runner no question. Go for Highlander if you want that 3rd row
Nice review. A video suggestion would be of the Highlander vs the RAV4 ones that are similar in price. Like a limited decked out Rav vs a model of the Highlander that is about the same price and compare the two. That is our dilemma right now. Because a decked out Rav is getting close to Highlander numbers
That is a good suggestion!!!
Some RAV4s are getting very pricey.
Agree!
I like the Highlander SE the best!
Literally 2 alrights into the video and I have to like. 10/10 intro
I'm leaning towards the Highlander but the 4runner is nice. I may check it out, but as of right now I heavily looking at the 2019 Highlander LE Plus.
PartyUpLive try looking at the V6! That 4cyl is 🤮
The LE Plus comes standard with a V6.
You had indicated by the end of March or early April for the RAV 4 XSE Hybrid. I had seen at least 2 different pre-release videos of it. Mark.
I still hold to my timeline ... The supply will be much tighter than I ever imagined though
I love 4Runner's off-road capability but the technology really needs revamp.
No. The technology is what makes these guys unreliable.
Except it’s made by Toyota.
@@kayannhenry
toyota still needs to use better technology , the ones they use is so ugly and trash
@@abovethelaw4417 the "pretty" technology is the one that's always failing
The Rav4 Looks bigger than the Highlander now.
Any RAV4 hybrids on the lot yet?
Since I’m not a fan of the spare tire stored under the body, my vote goes to the RAV4. Another great video Jeff- thanks!
4Runner!!!
I'm just waiting for a hybrid Toyota 4Runner.
Grand father, father and son
Lmao!! So true. I love it!!
Mom, dad and kid
They all have great features but I think the RAV4 is the best compromise unless you need something larger. Good gas mileage and a great price make it a winner. In fact I went through this back in 2008 and chose the RAV4. It was the right choice for us and we still have that 2008 RAV4. This time we chose the 2019 Camry SE which basically is the sedan version of the RAV4, same 2.5L engine and 8-speed transmission. My sister loves her 2018 RAV4 and I'm sure the 2019 is even better.
I must say it was hard to pass on the Highlander since I'm 25% Scottish Highlands ancestry!
The Camry is a fine car but I would have a hard time giving up the utility and slightly raised seats of the RAV4 if I could only have one vehicle.
@@rightlanehog3151 True, but we need two vehicles so kept the 2008 RAV4 and got the new Camry. You're right the Camry is low slung but once you're in all is fine.
Highlander Xle has leather interior or unless for 2019 Toyota cheapened out and put softtex instead
There’s only 1 right answer.
Lexus GX 460: All the cool kids are driving one.
Cargo capacity dimensions?
All three😍
Jeff this is a great breakdown and I watched it all the way through. The only downside is you've incited a desire in me for the Four Runner as opposed to the Rav4, even given the loss of the modern safety features, much lower fuel economy, and the higher price point. But my wife has not the fortitude required to pilot the mighty Four Runner, so what'cha gonna do?
Do you think they will give the 2019 rav4 the android play update?
Expressions Photo Booth honestly I don’t expect that will happen. I’ve been told no by a few of my sources. You never know though because things can change quickly.
They will do that for 2020
14:15 Dude, Where’s my car? 🤣🤣
do you have a review of a fully loaded adventure? every bell and whistle Toyota has to offer.
4Runner
Your videos are so helpful, but I HAD to comment once you did the Dude Where’s My Car reference. I do it all the time and NOBODY GETS IT! 🤣🤣🤣 Made my day! Literally laughed out loud! 🤣
The highlander and and 4Runner are both awesome but at the same time....they are both getting long in the tooth.
I guess for me Jeff I probably would choose the Highlander SE in Hybrid. Or still waiting for the RAV4 XSE Hybrid! Mark in Iowa.
Oh is there a RAV4 XSE Hybrid coming out Mark?
Those are great choices but bling wheels and tires on a Hybrid will reduce mpg substantially.
Hey brotha you got a new subscriber here. I loved your in depth real world experience based review. Most folks don’t get in depth like you did here.
Suggestion: no offense brotha but the jokes were on the meh side. Stick to the amazing information you gave & I’ll be sure to get more folks to subscribe.
Honestly, I’m excited to see more material keep it up 💪🏾
You can buy a hood blanket for around $50 and put it in the RAV4 hood.
HALWG51 can you tell me where?
I choose the rav 4
If the rav4 had a rear locker or atrac then maybe but I'll stick with land cruisers and 4runners
We want to buy an AWD Rav4 Adventure trim with a V6 engine but Toyota doesn’t make it. Why can’t Toyota offer a V6 engine option on Rav4 like they do for the Camry? A V6 engine would make more sense on the Adventure trim!
4Runner appears the most useful for Michigan roads.
Highlandler because its full size
Awesome video and comparison, Jeff! You are the best. Thank you! I'm between Highlander and 4Runner. What do you think, I'll mostly drive in city and go out of town and nature some times. So, what is your suggestion? I highly appreciate it. Thank you!
There is a night and day difference as one is a slightly raised car and the other is a real truck that weighs over 5,000 lbs and uses at least 25% more fuel in ALL situations. BTW there is a brand new Highlander coming out later this year so you will actually have two Highlanders to compare to the 4Runner. Lastly, the Highlander Hybrid offers space, comfort and improved mpg especially around town. I am sure the new one will be even better.
@@rightlanehog3151 So, I have to wait for litter longer. Thank you very much for your useful information. You did a big help. Have a peaceful and wonderful day!
@@shahramkhayam4875 Sir, You are welcome. You have plenty of time to study your options. Expect more news on the new Highlander within months if not weeks.
@@rightlanehog3151 Absolutely! Again, thank you so much! I highly appreciate your info and kindness as well. Have a good day!
@@shahramkhayam4875 :)
Highlander is my choice but body on frame is very attractive!
I would always get the 2020 RAV4
No one... Literally No one:
Jeff: 6:42
Where’s the sequoia
That thing dont sell.
I still feel like as a 6'5" 220 lb man I won't fit into these compact crossovers and maybe even the Highlander. Sucks car shopping when you're tall
My husband is 6'5 and weighs about the same he said he had more room in the highlander than the 4runner that one seemed more narrow
I know Jeff. We are on the same page 😉. Mark.
is it just me? the rav4 looks wider and bigger than the highlander
I have a rav4 and a 4 runner
which do you like better?
Jeff, "Body on frame" vehicles use BOLTS(with rubber isolation at the mounting point) to attach the body to the frame, not welds.
I misspoke on that part I guess. Sorry. Jeff
@@Toyotajeff No need to apologize, we can't expect you to know everything. I enjoy your videos! (PS Have you seen the, heavily camouflaged, "Spy" photos of the (reputed to be) 2020 Highlander?
@@mikeceli Autoblog has spy photos of the next Sienna.
Been watching video reviews of the rav4 and a common comment I keep seeing is "I wish they made a v6 rav4"..... ummm... the name of the car comes from the fact that it is 4 cylinder motor.. a ravenousa 4 cylinder motor...
Goooooood toyota!!!
I will just buy the 3 of them
What happened to the daddy of them all, the Landcruiser?
The land cruiser is perfection. Expensive gas guzzling... but perfection
I like the Toyota RAV4 because of its fuel standard, the Toyota Highlander and the Toyota 4Runner are overpriced for their fuel standards.
the highlander looks thin on the front and end.
Highlander is the sweetspot for value but id take the rav4
The rav4 looks better than highlander or 4runner
Sorry but I don't think the Highlander looks more classy in the front.. More chrome does not equal more class. I swear I'm not an old man, but I really think the automakers need to stop trying to find new ways to make their front ends unique and futuristic because they are starting to look ridiculous, like this Hi..lander and the Avalon. just stick to headlights, bumper, grill, some fogs and some vents.
the rav4 looks bigger than the highlander!
4Runner forever & ever! 🖤
You would save $1,260 a year on gas if you went for the RAV4, instead of the 4Runner.
You wana save gas buy a prius😒
I’m talking about SUVs. I guess you’re too dumb to know that.
Also non hybrids. Get a life.
I am for Highlander !
i would rather just open my tailgate in 1 second instead of waiting 5 for motors to do it
Firm ...medium .....plush 😂
Love the 4runner but can't get over the lack of tech with this vehicle. I want to love it but the lack of attention to this vehicle over the years makes it hard to buy over something like the Highlander or Pilot. Even the Highlander is starting to look dated compared to the 2019 Pilot. It offers so much more for less money. The Rav4 is a little more of what I expect out of Toyota. Unfortunately, I am not a fan of small SUV's. Leaving me no good option with Toyota. Toyota please up your game! I want to love you but it is hard.
Michael watch the vid for 2020 highlander on RUclips. You will be impressed over the outgoing model.
It be a lot cooler if you did.....
I pick the rav4
Toyota = A real car
