      It's a beauty. I saw the wine color. I have a Toyota RAV4 2001 it has a couple of dents and scratches do to the fury of hurricane Maria when we got hit. The wind blew a satellite dish on it. But it's still going strong. I love Toyota I can't afford one but Anyone out there that can afford it buy it. It's strong and reliable.

    There’s no doubt this will remain the top selling non-truck. Now I’m actually really excited for the Hybrid. IMO Toyota did a good job offering a lot of what the previous generation lacked. I like the new design better, more variety with trims and packages, increased ground clearance/AWD systems, but dang for that final listed price...I’d expect almost everything on it like the optional ventilated seats, 360 camera, panoramic roof, rear heated seats.... maybe I’m expecting too much 😅.
    Props to you guys filming in the rain, that didn’t go unnoticed 👍. As always, excellent showing and I can’t wait to test one out myself. Merry Christmas fellas!!

    • @CarConfections
      @CarConfections  5 лет назад +3

      Totally agree with that! And considering how good the MPG is on the regular model, the Hybrid might be the move when it comes out. Anyways, Merry Christmas to you also!

    • @PrimeAutotainment
      @PrimeAutotainment 5 лет назад +1

      Ave Crux dang that’s a bummer to hear. I’ve looked at some trim specs and it seemed like high price for the available features. Considering they were already the SUV sales champ they probably knew they didn’t have to go all out with that stuff sadly

    • @rncondie
      @rncondie 5 лет назад +1

      It may be a top seller, but after test driving I have two big deal breakers.
      1) Engine Noise
      Toyota needs to address the engine noise. There is no point springing for the sound system when the engine roars like a sick lion.
      2). 8 Speed Choppy Shifting Transmission.
      The transmission is constantly shifting and each time it changes gears I thought the transmission was going to drop to the ground.

    • @whiterockrunner
      @whiterockrunner 5 лет назад

      @@rncondie somewhat true. Engine noise can be reduced with dampeners (aftermarket or toyota's) on the hood. The transmission issues can be fixed with technical service update like the camry. btw, all of these 'issues' are non-existent at speeds over 20mph.

    Very interesting and informative. I like seeing the dash as you drove. I would have like to see what the nav screen looked like with the full map, would like to see the engine compartment, and would like to have heard what the engine noise sounded like in the cabin when the rpm go above 4000. Having test driven one recently I found that when the "pedal hits the medal" - like when you are entering the freeway and there is a semi coming up quickly behind you - it was REALLY noisy. In most of your driving you were very conservative with the rpms. I would have liked to have seen the sticker also. Nice job with the video, Thanks for sharing.

    Not too much of a fan of the styling. Looks too much like a Jeep. At this price point there’s no excuse not to have LED turn signals. Judging by how the interior and exterior looks, the car looks cheap but I can’t say much about that since I haven’t been in one yet. But with Toyota’s track record the interior may feel cheap and and sound noisy. After looking at the comparison, it looks like it offers more than the current CR-V which desperately needs a redesign. But based on RAV4 sales in the past, it looks like a top- seller again for Toyota.

Similar Rav4 would have cost about $34k. There's been a lot of chatter about oil dilution issue on the Honda 1.5 turbo. The fix is out there now and Honda dealers have been installing it on the cars. It amounts to a new climate control module and software update to the ECM. It basically allows the engine to reach operating temperature faster thereby negating the condensing fuel vapors into the crankcase. I drove one and the engine sounds like a sewing machine coming apart when you step on the gas. My lawn tractor is quieter. Toyota could have done a lot better. I decided on the CR-V. Smoother, quieter, more room and $5K less for the same equipment. I currently also own '14 Highlander which has been awesome. You can keep the Rav4.

    Toyota cheaped out and rised the price by 2k. No sound deadening under the hood, so much plastic on bumpers, physical key, hubcaps, fake leather seats for almost $27k. Go buy a honda crv ex for $28 with sunroof, android auto, more space, quieter and better handling suv.

    Interestingly no one talks about how uncomfortable this car is for tall people to drive. I'm 6'1 and had to pass on this car. The console panel is way to wide, digs right into your knee making it painful and difficult to keep your foot on the gas pedal. If you just as tall as I am, don't buy this car, you'll regret it. It's not built for tall people, I don't know who they build it for.
