Paul is one of the coolest guys I ever met. I did meet him after a concert in Berlin way back in 2011. He came out of the venue, girl in one arm, his guitar in the other (yes, he carried his own guitar by himself). He immediately starting to us about everything, made jokes, and was a really humble and nice guy. No act or rock star shit, just a normal, down to earth guy. We talked for maybe ten minutes, then he said goodbye and walked home. As far as he cared, he could have just played a pub or whatever; he didn’t seem to care that he had just played a full arena in front of like a 100.000 people. He will always be the coolest guy I’ve met.
Which electric guitar doesn't sound good ? Since it is not accoustic you always can adjust the tune till it sounds good. In other words it is not so difficult to create a good sounding electrical guitar.
Question, though. Probably Rammstein wouldn’t like being compared to the Scorpions, but isn’t it more likely that one of the Schenker brothers (Rudolf and Michael) had their own signature Gibson b4 Paul Landers? They’ve been around longer. I know at least one of them has their own signature Gibson Flying V. Now, it could be argued that Landers is the 1st German 2 have his own signature Les Paul.
@@ianjohnson7761 it’s very possible. And maybe that’s what he/I meant. The first Les Paul. I’m not a follower of the Schenkers, though I know of them, so I’m not sure if those are signatures or just customs. But I very well may be incorrect.

I love that Paul is so simple and straightforward with his guitar needs. Not some guy who needs 15 different guitars on tour with him, every one tuned differently.
Too true! I made the mistake of thinking a song like Ich Tu Dir Weh has massive walls of highly processed guitars... I've got his ESP model and the SansAmp PSA amp he used on the track, It was brutal realising that it's his precise playing which makes it 99% of the time, and I literally cant blame anything by my own skill, if playing along sounds wrong :D complexity in perfectly executed simplicity!

hmm that's interesting what Paul says at the begining, cause for many, many years he used to play on Music Man guitars which are completely different than LPs
Aaw so sweet when he talks about being a Young Pioneer in his childhood and Sigmund Jähn. I'd say he looked cute in his uniform. :) My guy is around the same age and was also raised in the east and remembers all that too. Goodbye Lenin, Goodbye DDR.
OH yeah! Put this through something like a Sansamp PSA 1 and you've got brutal rhythm! Admittedly I've got the ESP version (not really used by him much, at least on stage), but it's got identical pickups and will sound fairly similar. Best 1.4k I ever spent!
Great !! ESP and Richard Zven Kruspe have guitars now the wonderfully sweet Paul Landers gets his signature guitar from Gibson, I love them both and I mean Richard & Paul so sweet and I'm glad I got to meet them May 8th 2012 for Minneapolis, Minnesota's show.
@Jugger Naut & others asking the is Rammstein english. Richard speaks English and mostly has hardly a German accent Till speaks English and has a vague to medium German accent Christoph speaks with a very heavy German accent, not sure if it's gotten better over the years but his english is straight off the boat german Paul - I am not 100% sure. I know he speaks Russian, is fluent in it apparently. However I've never heard him speak English. I don't think Flake does either.
I have heard Paul Landers speaking English, it's in an interview, he did in Mexico. Put it in search Rammstein interview, Mexico. it's an interview with Paul, Till and Christoph. In this interview all three speak English.
@@amandawyllis9826 Yes. But it's not an accent it is a dialect and this dialect of the berlin region feel "dirty" for other germans. For example: they say "dat" or "ick" instead of "das" and "ich". Flake surprisingly is the most fluent and Richard and Till so them 3 are the most fluent, the rest speak it yes and know the language pretty well but don't speak it as often but they do know english yes. I can speak for myself in this only because of my encounter Meet & Greet with them May 8th 2012 in Minneapolis, MN aside from getting my custom shirt signed lots of pictures which I made a slideshow video fromI know VERY little german although Rammstein I loved for 12 years but yes they do ^_^
You have to confuse someone. Flake was the last to learn English. At the beginning of her career, only Till could speak some English. Richard then really took lessons and also lived in the USA for 11 years. After that, Paul and Schneider learned English. Flake was the last, he says himself. He wouldn't have bothered. He also makes fun of it. 🤗
3:13 does Paul really mean "a bass player in disguise" beacause of the look of thick strings, or maybe he means he's a latent bass player because he likes how his guitar looks with strings being so thick?

what a lovely story, happy for you!
I love how he spends half the video talking about how it looks and then- 'oh yeah, and it sounds really nice too'. XD
As if he is talking about Richard 😂😂😂😂

Ich höre Paul Landers unglaublich gerne zu. Sowohl beim Reden, als auch beim Musizieren
First German to have a Gibson Signature Guitar is an achievement of history, don't downplay your awesomeness. I see what you did there..
I love that Paul is so simple and straightforward with his guitar needs. Not some guy who needs 15 different guitars on tour with him, every one tuned differently.
Well Im sure he has atleast six Les pauls with him. And he has his Small flying V with a micro amp built into it

well rammstein plays drop c, drop d, and e standard
Its a German thing. Keep it simple.
Paul is such a ray of sunshine ❤️
He is so humble and sweet 😊 Congrats Paul! You deserve this!
I may not understand what he is saying but what the subtitles says matches his emotions and you can tell he is really passionate about the guitar.

About time that they give Paul a signature guitar.
Das und das Video über sein Fly Rig sind meine absoluten Lieblingsvideos. Man sieht einfach wie sehr er sein Handwerk liebt.
I m a Hip Hop and Reggae guy, but i really like this dude. He s a real one. I can tell
youre cuteness and smile are going to be the death of me Paul :) but i dont mind
My favorite part of Rammstein :]
Paul :3
heavy Berlin accent ! even more than Flake ...;)
I wondered about his accent. I'm married to a Viennese so I hear at different accent in German at home.
But this is not without it. Schneider has less accent. I think it's absolutely fine. 😂

How humble Paul is. He deserves this honor.

All he needs is a great-looking-guitar, a cable and a sans-amp. That's it.
