Great fly and explanation of the tying steps. Very interesting to watch. Thanks for your effort in filming and sharing your knowledge!
Awesome tutorial and detailed explanation. Well done. Thank you! 👍
Cheers
Appreciate you sharing the knowledge. Looking forward to diving into this one!
Thanks man keen to see how you get on!
Excellent work!
From my tiling work, soapy water works as well on the finger.
Supernice !!
Great looking pattern and a great technique.
I noticed that the inside cone is angled up from the hook shank.
Is this to angle the materials upwards to reduce fouling?
Great stuff Ru as always!! Well done .. I need to tie those! Where can I buy the silicone heads?
Hey Jean the link is in the video description.
Very nice innovation. I used to make the Popovic version. With very fishable results. Even have an old bottle of Photoflo left. This version however looks fantastic. Very smooth without the wool. What are the heads made of? Are they also silicone?
Hi Robert thanks I still have bobs version in my box and they are very fishy . The heads are made by myself, they are a flexible plastic., and available on my website with the link in the video description.
How does one get those cones nice fly
Where can you purchase the soft cones you use??
Hi , could you use flexi resins for this fly? Cracking job 👏 👍
You can but it's you only get one shot once it's set zero chance of moving the fibres
I don't fly fish saltwater, but I love watch saltwater fly tying.
Great Man! Thanks for watching.
Fantastisk smuk ørred 👍👍😊
Do you offer shipping to the US of your silicone heads?
Hi Matt yes I do.
We're can I get the nose cone to tye these flies.
Thanks they are on my website www.rupertharveysflies.com
Any idea when those sili cones will be back in stock?
Should be over the weekend. Trying to keep up 😂
They are back up online
Could one use UV Flex Resin in place of the silicone which looks like a messy and complicated process?
And secondly where are you from, your accent is very similar to South African?
Hey yup I'm a saffa. Silicone is not actually that messy , some guys have used uv and I have tried it. But adds a huge amount of weight. But the main issue is lining up the fibres and shape the head, once it with the light it's set for good no adjusting.
@@RupertHarveysflies Okay the silicone makes more sense now, thanks for explaining. You still based in SA though?
@@calvinvanwyk21 na in Ireland now.
