- I'm With Her performs "Crossing Muddy Waters" at the Kennedy Center.
After a jam session at the 2014 Telluride Bluegrass Festival, three queens of the Americana/folk/bluegrass scene-Sarah Jarosz, Aoife O’Donovan, and Sara Watkins-knew they had to set out on tour together. On the road, I’m With Her was born. Their individual backgrounds as vocalists and multi-instrumentalists seamlessly blend into a unique sound, creating unforgettable songs layered with elegant technical skill, expressive lyrics, and impressive harmonies.
Part of the DIRECT CURRENT festival, March 31st, 2019.

hum,, I saw Sarah in the winter of 2014 and "I'm with her " wasn't formed yet..
made me cry like a baby. thank gawd
Same. We listen from 🇪🇸 my peers and I.
Could I make a general comment about the quality of "cover" versions. We often get devoted listeners who won't have it that a cover can be better than the original. IMHO this is nonsense. There are plenty of covers that are far superior to the original. Just some examples to think about. Many covers of Bob Dylan songs are far superior to his original version. (and I am a great Dylan fan but his voice has limitations.) Buddy Holly had the original "Not Fade Away" hit however both the Rolling Stones and Grateful Dead took the song to another level.
I'm not comparing this cover to the original, just making a general comment.
Triple-threat monster talent. Their vocal harmonies are sublime. I hope they make more music together.
What a gorgeous song .. well done ladies .. John Hyatt would be proud.
#masterpiece
Perfect
JOHN HIATT. How could they go wrong?
That; is gettin it done! Amazing musical moment...
A buddy just turned me on to this. Thy did this song proud!!
Very good Congratulations
Awesome🥰
love love love
Actually they are - at least in my view - way better than J.Hiatt's original (keeping in mind that he was the one who wrote this beautiful piece of music :-))
I am loathe to quantify such things, I think this cover is phenomenal, but there is something to be said about the feeling that Hiatt puts into the original.
Nothings better than a Hiatt original
@@guymacandrew5989 Well you go your way and I go mine
This arrangement with its traditional instrumentation and variations in volume and tempo is genius, and these harmonies are rich and expansive.
Comparing a one-man original and a three-person cover version in terms of "better" or "less good" is an infantile exercise by those with no musical knowledge. Just imho 😂🎉.
Hyatt sings it with the pain of a broken hearted man
Doesn't get any better. 🪕
