There are lots of groups with great harmony, and then there are those select few for whom it is just magic! I'm With Her elevates into that special class - just a treat.
The ache in Sara Watkins voice just send shivers through me, I'm With Her restores a 66 year old music lovers faith that the torch is in good hands, despite what many people from my generation think.
Anthony Salvati that’s what’s so great about Thile. It’s not just his work and talent but the people he brings together that most people won’t normally see. So many people want to turn on the radio and say music is dead but they’re just looking in the wrong place!!
@@tkbikesnc6079 Exactly right PGA, I am constantly trying to direct my music loving friends to Chris and the Live From Here concerts as evidence that music is alive and thriving if you just make an effort to find it. I found Chris by accident while searching for the song Duncan by Paul Simon a few years ago. Best musical discovery of my life. Got to see I'm With Her on the opening night of their current tour in Connecticut, it was one of the best shows I have ever seen.
@@TRONOFTHEDEAD While I'm normally an 'affirmative' on that, what happens with the law of large numbers is that it brings with it, a larger number of assholes. Case in point: Billy Strings
They sing like angels and play like the devil. This is my favorite musical video on RUclips and I have to agree, at least for this performance, that you couldn't find a better band in the world.
There are other versions of them singing this medley encore on YT, one with opener Billy Strings, and another with Molly Tuttle, both good. However, this performance elevates the listener to a religious experience!! Sara Watkins beautiful breaking voice, their flawless round on Jerusalem Moan. I hope they keep this in their setlist in the years to come. (The I.W.H. show I saw back in 2018 had yet to feature this in their repertoire). Props to the audience for refraining from shout outs, and too much applause at the instrumental breaks, letting the nuanced phrasing, during the quieter parts of the songs to be thoroughly enjoyed.
THIS IS ONE OF MY FAVORITE BLUEGRASS BANDS -- I LOVE TO HEAR SARAH WATKINS PLAY THE FIDDLE AND I USED TO LISTEN TO HER WITH NICKEL CREEK !!!! I LOVE TO HEAR HER SING ALONG WITH AIOFE O'DONOVAN AND SARA JAROSZ !!!!!
Listened to this 25 times or so in the last few months. The whole troika is awesome just really listened to the last 5-6 seconds. It sounds like a silver filled cloud, they way they fade is incredible!
I love I'm With Her. Ditto the praise from other commenters. On 'Jerusalem' at the end when they come back together after the round and in the ritard of Jeru-sa-lem.. on the third note, Sara Watkins slightly changes the shape of her mouth to emphasize the dissonance. Beautiful! Then they resolve and pull back to finish. I love when they finish with smiles at each other and for making such wonderful music.
I saw this during the livestream, and I watched it as often as I could before it went down, worried that I wouldn’t get to see it again. I’m so happy to see it up-it’s one of the best performances from LFH.
Its something to hear them sing with real joy during 'marry me'. I mean you can hear the joy and excitement in their voices that goes along with the expectation.
This Trio's cover of "Marry Me" sounds a lot like what I would imagine THE Trio's (Dolly, Emmylou, Linda) cover would have sounded like, had they done it. With Dolly in the lead. But, seriously, that Jerusalem moaning was outa this world!! OMG!!
If you are missing Live From Here and haven’t heard the news, Chris Thile and Punch Brothers have a new musical variety show, The Energy Curfew Music Hour. Season one is streaming here: bit.ly/ecmh-season1 - Punch Brothers HQ
let's not forget The Travelin McCourys, the Stringdusters, Bryan Sutton, WeBanjo3, Sierra, Frank Solivan, Michael Daves, The Gibson Brothers, The Lil' Smokies, Steep Canyon Rangers, Balsam Range, Michael Cleveland, Man About A Horse, Horseshoes & Hand Grenades, Jerry Douglas, Tim O'Brien, Mark O'Connor, Dirk Powell, Wes Corbett, Jordan Tice, Brittany Haas, Christian Sedlemeyer, Bobby Britt, Matt Flinner, Serene Green, Fireside Collective, Grain Thief, Man About A Horse. There's so much great bluegrass out there, it'll make your head spin.
Music doesn't get any better than that. It can be different, but that is as good as it gets! Thank you ladies for making my life so much better. God bless you and your families!
Great harmony on this, ‘I’m with her’ are one of my favorites. I got to ‘live from here’ via Sarah’s & Chris’s version of ‘resonator’. Unarguably the best RUclips song on the face of planet earth. To date.
“Not a better band in the world than I’m With Her,” from a man who knows a thing or two about greatness.
These women are a national treasure.
There are lots of groups with great harmony, and then there are those select few for whom it is just magic! I'm With Her elevates into that special class - just a treat.
7:50 - 8:50 is some of the best of the best music I have ever heard.
Rarely hear singing in a round any more... it just gives goosebumps and brings light into my soul to hear it done so beautifully
Congrats on the Grammy for Best Americana Album of the Year Sarah Jarosz!

Some people just love to complain that there's no good music anymore and I think that's ridiculous.

The talent in these 3 working together gives me the chills!
Me too. Saw them at the Peace Center in Greenville,SC. in 2019. Incredible songs, harmony, a musical virtuosity
I love that line about "He's knows a lot about love and stuff."
He's gonna kiss me on my mouth ,,,,,,,
Holy hell .... the chills!!! Haven't heard a song in a while that's given me chills like this.
Thile: "There's not a better band, in the world, than I'm With Her." And the nations rose, and said "Amen."
They are great without any nations saying "Amen"
Birgit Albrecht nothin wrong with saying “amen” in bluegrass circles. It really has nothing to do with Jesus
@@ogs1mpson609 it still has a lot to do w jesus, but I agree w you. Atheist here who loves gospel bluegrass.
Oh yeah!
fantastic!
Their harmonies are immaculate. Love them
Love the round that ends Jerusalem. They’re amazing.

This video brings so much joy. Stay safe....:)
The crowd's reaction made me cry, just a bit! ^
The best 9:51 yet put on RUclips!
Freaking unbelievable!!
Whoo-wee that’s some mighty fine pickin and singin!!
I'll tell you what, you come on in here and sign these papers here and I'm a gonna you ten dollars a piece!
But Murt and Aloysius'll have to sign X'es, as only four of us can write.
They don't try to show off as individials. All have talents of their own. Grrat combo! The vocals on Jerusalem... OMG!
The more I hear Watkins sing gospel... dang!
It’s insane how great they are
Yeah greets from overseas. Berlin it is . And i love me a good voice and fiddel. Thanks Ladys❤

Goosebumps and tears, absolutely great
This medley was amazing already, and then they started singing in a round. God damn what performance
Saw them finish their show at Princeton University with this troika.

The three voices blend so amazingly! Jeff M, you're right ... chills!
Their perfect blend, flawless musicianship, delivery of deep-funk solid rhythm, and sheer joy in the collective. Janey Mackers. Thile was right.
That transition into to Jerusalem--holy smokes.
Sounds amazing. Thanks for the great harmonies/music!

Props to NPR!
Rocking me to the very depths of my soul.
They hit it, every time...
Of course they go and out-do themselves and start singing in a round. My God these girls are good!
I was sitting on the lawn for this. It was like church.
I hate to say I think it's better than church.
(This is my church every Sunday)
Crowd sounded like they were about to have a religious experience! I do ever time I listen on RUclips!!
Caught LFH and IWH up in Tanglewood (Lenox, MA) this summer. AWESOME! Well done ladies. Thank you Chris.

Hey fiddler - the fiddle transition from Marry Me into Jerusalem - it's short but mighty. I love that note dragging style you've got. Lervely!
