My absolute favorite version!!
I just sent the Vevo version as a lullaby, to a group of forest defenders after a long day of being beaten by police for hugging ancient trees, but I wish I'd seen this first. It is the best. And they are all genius. Not to mention, what a song. The river is wide indeed.
What a special group. Instrumentals are tight. Vocals are sublime. They're emotionally in synch. Beautiful.
This was after a huge thunderstorm cleared and the stars came out. Such a perfect vibe for this set!
Never get tired of this. Aoife’s sweet knowing smile at the end is classic.

Are they still an active ensemble?
Yes but Sarah has been on her Polaroid Lovers tour this year and Sara has been back with Nickel Creek (with Chris Thile) so idk if they’ve been playing any shows in the last year or two.
Like a rusty shot in a hollow sky... I wish they'd all three come together a little more often. Like CSN, they become another thing. Their white dresses make them look like egrets.
The only genuine country song was the last one, which I really liked. I love this group, but their versions of vintage, non-country Christmas songs are OK but not great.
