- Took my JJRCQ117 / SCY out for a speed run today'
2S I got 55km/h and
3S was 85KM/h.
I was pretty impressed with the car that it had that much power in such a small motor.
2847 size and 4000kv was pretty cool.

Good video. That is a respectable soeed for a stock setup.
Since you are planning on changing it out anyways, you could run the stock 2 in 1 board until it fries just to see what it can take. 🤷♂️
@@timallen6035 I ran the 2 in 1 board on 4s on my work bench. It lasted about 10 seconds at half throttle. So yeah at least I know it can do 3s comfortably!. 👍🏼🚗
This trucks amazing for the money got mine for about $70 on temu shipping took 11 days to Washington state 35mph on a 1/16th scale foot print really rips especially with a 3000mah battery got to for just under $30 planning on getting a 2-3s waterproof esc for only $14 hopefully that'll help 3s down the road 👍
Yeah will go heaps better on a proper 3S esc. Go hobbywing if you can. You won’t be disappointed. Hoping to get more than 85km on my hobbywing esc.
My 3000mah were only 15c 2s so no noticeable difference just lasted longer but have ovonics or something like that 2200mah 3s 35c hope it doesn't burn anything up stock saw a video of 2s & 3s with 45c hopefully it works OK still running my stock esc 35a hoping I can later clip a wire to the antenna considering 50mph is going to make the range matter more assuming lol
Gator clip, sold one of my 2s 300mah batteries 2 a buddy that bought my brushed version 3rd person I showed it to inside on buying it lol
Also trying to find oil shocks that are affordable & reliable seems like some decent air shocks would be better considering weight in an oil shock
Well done on 85kph 👏. I got one a month ago and today got 83.5kph but was only on full throttle for a split second. The esc has worked for me me fine on 3s but recently changed to a separate 35a esc and dumbo receiver and controller.

ESC will last. But the good thing is you changed it to a dumboRC transmitter and receiver. Great stuff in getting 83.5k. I believe You will def get over 85 with the better transmitter . 👍🏼🚗
Unfortunately I done exactly the same as you flipped at speed and skidded only difference is my speedometer screen broke 🙄. Another one ordered. Can I upload my run when my new speedo turns up? I'm new to all this but picked a cracking rc car 👌. I also have a deerc h16e which is 10mph slower unfortunately
You can connect the headlights to a channel on the receiver too right?and which controller and receiver did you buy ?
@@Perros1245 unfortunately the light connector doesn't fit into the dumbo receiver. I unplug the lights on my rc cars anyway so hasn't bothered me 👍🏻

3S 11.4v. You can’t get a 3S with 7.4v, that would then be a 2S battery
Can you tell me if the 3s you used was very good or just a 20c average lipo? I got mine working perfectly...its sick on 3s 50mph plus for sure.

I ran mine on 3s 20c on med speed setting was pretty fast..high speed just would need more road..great demo..

@@Das-Veilchen-X yeah this is the one I use and will only fit. You will need to make a battery hold down so it doesn’t fall out.

Very brilliant my friend. I'm currently upgrading the same RC. 3s batteries are on their way to me and I'm thinking about replacing the other components with the Surpasshobby 60A ESC but I'm not sure which KV motor size I should use to get the best performance. Can someone help?🙏🏼
I think just getting a 3500kv motor will do just fine. That’s what is in mine. And it’s more than enough speed. Hope all goes well!. 👍🏼🚗

Yeah they are 12mm hex. Also looking forward to take it on a beach run with some sand paddles.
Got mine finally...mine has no brakes just reverse for some reason...mine also has metal knuckles not plastic like i have seen that were breaking from to much bashing...one question can you remember if your 2 in 1 rx/esc has tabs to screw it to chassis or no tabs? Was told the one with no tabs is good with 3s while the other fails..thanks 😊

Can 3s lipo batteries be connected to the basic model 16101 pro? Won't it burn?
You can only try. Mine was ok. I even just as a test ran it on 4s and it lasted about 5 seconds!.

I just got my first rc it's the jjrc q117 and I like to see you do an upgrade on it have no idea what to buy for an upgrade. On a budget
Yeah for sure. Did you get it brushed or brushless. Because if it’s already brushless, then drive it like normal and have fun with it. If not, I’ll have to do it upgrade video on it
@@angesrcs I got it brushless but I like it to faster than 70mph at least a 75 to 80 if possible
@jeanmason8211 if you have the same running electrics as mine, which I think you would. You should easily get to 85km with a 3S battery in there. I was running a 3S 1500 mah 100c.
I would recommend making sure you have a fan on both the esc and motor

If you’re talking about the motor that it has three wires, yes it’s a possibility that the Motor can run on 3S. but what I’m talking about is the speed controller. They are not very capable of running on 3S, 2S is more ideal , 3S you have the potential to blow it up
Yup I run zees 3s 5200mah 80c but I always tell people that you need to make sure you have fans and I don't think alot get that you know.
Where do you fit such a large battery?
Well I will make a video bc it's kind of funny but it works just fine. I use black tape and a velcro. It's never fallen out or had an issue. I will try to get the video up by midnight tonight

I would like to ask if we use 3S 25c batteries, will it damage the motor? Because I have 3s 25c batteries, but I dare not try to use them...
You can use them, but you do have the risk of blowing the esc. I’ve used 3S and haven’t had an issue yet. But the esc is a ticking time bomb. It can go at any time
Theres 2 type of esc with different tags on them, on of them can handle 3s even tough it isn’t stated and the other one will fry. I have a pick of the 2

@@wilber8637 no probs at all. It’s always a big risk from the beginning to play with it on 3S. It could last an entire battery or just pop once you plug it in. Looks like I got a lucky one. 👍🏼🚗
I use 50c or 80c 3s batterys. But I also have a esc fan and a motor fan which allows me to do a lot more.

This exact rc car is not supposed to go on 3s with that esc, you need to upgrade the esc of that car before running it on 3s, otherwise it would burn out eventually.
well its run ok for me on the stock 3s for quite some time now. i have now upgraded the ESC to as hobbywing 50amp one. only because i ran it on 4S as a test and it got me to half throttle. so yeah it can also do 4S for a little bit and seems like its pretty capable on 3S. thanks for watching👍🛻
