      What do you think of the Acurawatch suite of driver assistance(adaptive cruise control & lane keep assist)?

    • @allbaugh04
      @allbaugh04 Год назад +3

      @@crawfordjason i don't have the acurawatch, but people who do like it for the remote start. I have no complaints about the adaptive cruise control or lane assist. The lane assist can do minor turns too. It's not as good as something like GMs super cruise but they don't have a vehicle I like anyway. I've driven the new CX-5, and iirc they were both pretty good. The Acura has brake hold though. So if ur cruising and hit a light, it will lock to the car in front , slow down for you, and kill the motor to save gas, just tap the gas to take off again and match that cars speed. It can be a little jerky, but not bad, I'm more impressed that it can do that.

We have another vehicle with a touchscreen and it just seems more distracting to use while driving. I do admit though that if Acura was smart they would have made it dual function because they are alienating a whole segment of people who have it imprinted in their brain that touchscreen automatically makes the driving experience better.

    I just purchased the 2024 RDX. It is all that...plus some! My interior color is brown with pearl white exterior. Very pretty. Its a new color. The lines and the chrome touches really pops. The technology is really good. There are sensors everywhere. You'll never forget your kid in the bad seat. When you turn the car off its tells you to check back seats if it senses anything back there. I compared the RDX AND THE MDX before buying...
    Granted the MDX is tad bigger with thev3rd row. But you loose a lot of trunk space in the MXD. I downed size from a Tahoe so i dodnt need the 3rd row. All in all im veey happy with my choice. Not having a touchscreen is much better in my opinion because you dont have to look at the screen to see what to touch while driving. Using the pad allows you to look at the road and see what your doing on the screen with your preferial

    I have the 2023 RDX Aspec, and it's an awesome vehicle size/power wise for getting around NYC and beyond. For the price point with all the features, it beats all suvs in its class. Although it's at the latter stage of this design cycle, it's still one of the best-looking and sporty suvs on the road. It definitely handles better than some cars. People tend to forget that the RDX is due for a full redesign very soon. This body style will age well because it still looks quite stunning 5 years in. The infotainment system some people complain about is not as complicated at they say. It takes a little learning curve, but it's not rocket science. But again, this vehicle is 5 years old, so the next design will most likely see an improvement in the interior. A type S is definitely overdue. I'm hoping the new design is NOT a full EV like the ZDX or a borrowed chassis frame. Maybe a hybrid version type S? If a hybrid version type s comes out, I'm definitely sold. I don't think any manufacturer will be making 100% combustion engines in the future.

    I like the rdx. I think like all Acuras however its overpriced. $53k for a small suv is a lot imo. Im getting a cx5 turbo carbon for less than $40k and theres really no performance difference

    8:14 Touching screen mean finger prints need to clean, beside less attention to the road.
    Maybe less convenient to front passenger, but safer to driver.

    The RDX downfall is it's rear lights. I spent 20 grand more last year getting the mrs the 2023 MDX over the RDX even though she didn't mind the RDX. However I destested those taillights. I couldn't imag3wat hing her backside looking like that while driving down the street. Everything else about the RDX looks good to me, including that alien dash interior...love it!!!

    Joe, Love the Balls Comments..... I think Acura missed a mark here. They should have produced a CRV type Hybrid model as well. I have a 22 MDX Advance with the lease coming due in August. I really like my MDX for its design, ride, handling, comfort, and respsonsiveness, however, not for its MPGs. Like all cars, but maybe this is worse, I'm getting 12-15% below EPA numbers , and even less than that in Suburban/City driving. I'm still getting used to the TTIP touch pad. What Joe doesn't point out is that the TTIP is dopwnright aweful when using Adroid Auto or Car Play. When you connect to AA, the pad becomes a S L O W acting Mouse pad, forcing me to take my eye off the road much more than using a Touch Screen. And with all these "goodies" Acura leaves out a Power Steering Wheel adjustment !! Come On Acura? I've had that feature with my last 6 cars (4 Infinitis, and now 2 Acura MDXs) - works so nicely with the AutoExit -Entry feature / Memory Seats /Mirrors/ Remote Start system. Nonetheless, the 2024 RDX Aspec Advance is on my short list to replace the MDX. We will see.....The Buyout price on my MDX at $38,500 in August is very tempting. I will have under 25K miles on it by then. That alone could produce good Equity in my lease.
