I like these towing test the best. As everyone can see power with the 1/2 tons is not the issue anymore. They all have plenty of that. It’s all about the towing stability which they all struggle with these types of trailers. If JB had an open trailer to pull that car on you guys would see this. The performance would be even better and the fuel mileage would significantly increase.
I’d like to see how the tundra compares with the Chevy Silverado with the 6.2L fuel champion.. I’d definitely stay away from any newer Toyota due to major problems, I really liked your detail about diff temperatures, definitely an important factor.
@ I’d disagree about the 6.2 being junk, now if you said that the transmission was junk I’d agree.. and sadly the tundra has a lot of design problems, mostly the motor, hopefully next year the issues will be fixed because the motor has some very impressive numbers.
Rated yes, power wise no. My 24 powerboost hauls my 6k trailer way easier than my 21 ecoboost. My ecoboost was rated for 13,5k my powerboost 11,000. Line both of them up and the powerboost walks the ecoboost.
Chateau with an e rated tire. I don't know if it was e or not. Step for side walls.Maybe you can air them up more and yeah, the snowflake means it's triple rated for snow
🏁 The 3 mountain peaks on the tire sidewall designates the tire as an " all-weather" tire. Think of it as a tweener between an all-season tire and a dedicated winter tire. The extra tread squirm could account for some of your trailer sway.
Ok, i need your help here... I love the test you are doing. We can get great data from it that will help us make sound decisions. But you have to titan up your testing. 1. Please use cruse control. When you use it it standardized the test date. It allows the computer to manage your inputs. 2. Every single time you do a pull please put up all data related to the test before you move. IE tongue weight, truck specs, trailer specs, road specs, weather specs... Great job, this is truly helping your channel if you can review my thoughts and they make sense to you... thank you, The Banks boys
Why do all the gas engine guys want to use cruise control. I see that all over the internet. I don't know of anyone who uses cruise control going up or down grades. They only use it on flat land with a ton of straight roads. I can use a diesel truck coming down a hill and have 1 brake application without cruise control. If the gas engine needs cruise control to stay at that speed, then someone's needs to say that so we know the truck struggles without cruise on the downhill grades. I think JB just driving the trucks like a normal person would is showing exactly what you will get. I don't think cruise control is going to change much IMO
@@DavidBrown-jt7yi I’ve used cruise control with my gas truck before on some pretty severe grades. It does keep the speed more consistent but it causes a lot of shifting. I’d rather not use it personally. That’s going up. Going down I don’t like it at all because it lets you get too much speed before it starts downshifting. I have an 8% grade that goes for 2 miles and I can come down it with my gas truck with one brake application because in tow/haul mode my truck downshifts almost instantly when you hit the brakes. 2022 Silverado L8T with the 6 speed auto. As for a diesel, you could use cruise and never tip the brakes on a downhill grade.
Next time you get your hands on a XD I would like to see how it does on the 6% grade compared to the new tundra. I know you have driven both and in your opinion which one is more confident? Thanks

That symbol on the side of the tire is a liberal snowflake tear
The symbol means 3 peak mountain snow flake rated😊
Love to see this test with the new Ram 1500 SO as well
That hurricane motor in the Ram is a Beast there's nothing that can touch it

Great Great Video!!
@JB Reviews
Should do the test again in tow haul plus. Supposedly does even better.
My understanding is the dealer can turn the fake v8 sound off

They’re not having major issues 😂
Lol, the power boost is the least on towing out of all the F-150 3.5 l

What's that oil pressure doing?

There goes the rod bearings!
😂😂😂 nope
Would love to see the same run with the MAX!
You should try it in Tow Haul Plus mode. Anything over 5000 pounds
The tundra also have a tow haul plus mod as well for heavier trailer

JB, have you done this same test with the 3.0 LZO? I'm curious how it would pull the grade with the trailer/weight.
Engine temp crept up to IMO, uncomfortable levels. I'm sure it's fine but that makes me feel unhappy if it was my truck.

That's awesome please do the chevy l8t with the 10 speed

Love your video, but that truck could have done a lot better in Tow Haul +. You would have had more power.
Fake engine noise comes with the JBL stereo. I turned mine off and I like it better.
