  • Now, this is a brand new ADT prototype from Doosan!😋
    And, I had the honors of being the first one to fill it with payload on our projects!😅🙏
    This is the first prototype, of a project initiated by Hæhre!!
    Yes, there are other similar trucks available already, but they don’t have the specs that Hæhre has been looking for!
    So, why buy something that’s not perfectly suited for us, when there is a possibility to participate in a project to build something unique?😅
    This machine has been running tests in a quarry nearby Doosan’s factory for a while!
    Now it’s our turn to test it in our conditions, and bring feedback to the factory when finding possibilities for improvement as well as bringing back what’s good with this machine!😋
    Loud shoutout to Doosan for being flexible and open for customer needs!🙋‍♂️👌
    The perfection is on, for future trucks to be built!!
    Enjoy!🙏🙂

    I don't know its name but that lip between the loading area and the Cab needs to be angled or big rocks are going to fall behind the Cab and onto vulnerable hoses or worse into the glass directly behind the driver.. 🤔🤔

      Hi!🙋‍♂️ Thanks for watching and for paying attention! I do appreciate that you wonder about what you see, and take your time to share your thoughts!🙏
      Yes, I got the same impression that you did, as I dropped the first bucket on it.😄 The “shade” is formed about the same way as on a regular DA 45/40/30, as well as Moxy have had this design on all their MT series. It is just not good enough on this rock bed, but has worked perfectly until this rock bed was designed! I understand your worries, but it is up to me and other excavator operators to not spill rocks on the cab or the swing link! And for the record, I have not spilled a rock on the cab!😉 But, this is the first edition of this prototype, not the finished product! We have given a lot of feedbacks to the Doosan factory, so the next 5 pilot series trucks like this, will be added a lot of changes!😋 I have requested a higher front wall all the way out to the corners, as the front corners actually are the most vulnerable points for spillage when loading! I have also requested a high front shade on top, behind the cab! 😊 I am very curious to see how the next trucks will look like!😋
      When it comes to efficient loading, I always will prefer to load 772 like trucks, as the do have their “cap” over the cabs! However, I’m sure that if all my requests regarding this prototype is fulfilled, this one may be a proper alternative!🙂

    It would be great to see Doosan expand on their ADT offering. It would be good if their complete range looked like this.
    DA20 6x6 18Ton New design
    DA25 6X6 24 Ton based on DA30 with smaller skip
    DA30 6X6 28 Ton current model
    DA35 6X6 32 Ton New design
    DA40 6X6 38 Ton based on D45 with smaller skip

    DA50 4X4 50 Ton based on the prototype in video, can't wait to see finished product

      Hi!🙋‍♂️ I don’t disagree with you, I felt the urge for a better barrier against the cab myself!🙃👍 We gave the creators several points where we wanted improvements, so the design will be altered on the next units!😋
      I am curious and exited when I’m looking forward to see the first pilot machine, built after testing this prototype!🙃
      I will however always prefer a regular rock truck like our 772’s or similar, as they are better built for this purpose!😋 But as a supplement to our fleet, some ADT’s like this can be a profitable solution where the roads or the ground are a issue for a regular truck!👍

    wonder how much influence from Bell as in their B60E? and wonders who is going to make the jump up from 50 - 60 tonne to a massive mining ADT in the 75 - 90 tonne class, one of these one THREE axles, a Bell B90e, also on three, or maybe Cat with a whole new build on similar lines. . . . can't be far away now, a 785 ADT eight wheel double axle rear end. . .

    • @norwegianearthmovers
      @norwegianearthmovers  3 года назад +1

      Hi!🙋‍♂️ Well, our fleet management has done a lot of research the past year’s!😋
      They did have a look at the Bell B45, but the rear axle was wider than 4 meters as well as the Tara weight of the vehicle was higher than on this one! They also checked out the descendant after the old Komatsu HD 405’s, but the rear axle on those had grown over 4 meters of width as well.. We have ran the 772’s for some years now, and statistically found out that they don’t run the entire year, as they basically are made for one purpose - high production hauling! Our fleet management are looking for a machine that may be more all round than a standard truck, to both add more up time through added purposes as well as reduction in transport need and costs between sites!
      This DA 45 is specially designed with width under 4 meters and weighs less, so it can be transported more easily as well as cheaper! The target load are 50 tons, so the rock bed needs to be adjusted a bit for some more room, but I have already got feedbacks that the factory is back at the drawing board already!😋
      So this is mostly ideas between us as a customer and Doosan as a producer!😋
      A 60 ton truck gets too large for our projects, since we have weight limits on the embankments we build! Too heavy trucks, and the ground gets crushed by the impact and must be shifted!😄
      Larger trucks means even more transportation and more down time for us, so that’s no option..😅
      Haha, I’m pretty sure that a 785 ADT would be a little bit out of proportion..😂😂
      And way too large for me to load..🤪😄

    • @Adamsmithv
      @Adamsmithv 3 года назад

      @@norwegianearthmovers I think the design limit has been reached for adt's. More than 40t and its either too wide or too heavy. I'm not sure an extra 10t is worth a redesign. Just add another truck. Redundancy is better than over optimization.

    • @norwegianearthmovers
      @norwegianearthmovers  3 года назад

      Hehe, you might be on to something, but it has been said that there isn’t much that needs to be changed to reach 50 ton payload!😉
      A standard ADT is too narrow and has its limits when loading with large machines, so it is worth the attempt!😋 We have a lot of projects through steep hills and on ground that is difficult to pass with the 772’s, so this one will at least be a great addition to our truck fleet with better abilities than a standard truck!
      No flat areas here in Norway, and what’s flat, is about always wet and soft..🤪😄

      Thanks for watching and for sharing your thoughts!🙏
      Well, I haven’t studied the Bell, I must admit..😄
      I’m sure the Bell design is good!
      However, this rock bed is the first edition from Doosan, and will look quite different in the next edition! After only a few loads, we found several things to improve! Height of the sidewalls and height and design of the front wall will be changed, as well as I want a high vertical shade on top of the front wall!😋 The angles of the floor of the rock bed will probably also be re designed, and will probably end up pretty flat instead of the curve it has now! I’m excited to see how it works over time, and also how the final look of it will be after the changes!😋

      We are all about safety, so we had to make changes on this!😊
      Had to check out the Bell after your message, and I see the difference!👌 The design is a bit different, indeed! Doosan’s has always been brilliant with their unique turning radius, as they can fit into tighter areas than most other brands! With shorter frames and shorter rock bed, they have made a very compact design compared to the others!😋
      They have brought the compact design to this as well, so the front wall on the rock bed on this one have sharper angles than Bell has on their boxes! The swing radius on this one is awesome, I was surprised about how it could turn around with good clearance to both sides of my 20 meters wide loading area!🤩 It will be great when the rock bed gets re designed, so I can load both faster and larger loads without having to be so careful!😅🤙

    • @aluminium3574
      @aluminium3574 3 года назад

      @@norwegianearthmovers it looks like the front axle centre to the artic centre is shorter than most of the other brands! Maybe that’s what gives it a shorter turning radius! I really like the 2 axle design so you have less wear and tear on the tires.

    I wouldn't sit in that cab while it was being loaded with large blasted rock, no way. They need some sort of shield to protect the occupants. The way some of those loader operators sling those rocks is very dangerous. Watch the huge rocks fall and crash down on the forward portion of the large haul pack trucks that extend over the cab. If it were not there, drivers would get crushed frequently!!!!!!!

Compare to the DA 40, and see that I pull my stick towards me as I open the bucket, so I don’t spill rock on the opposite side of the ADT!😋 Much better with wide trucks, rises efficiency and makes it easier for me!🤩

    the structure of prototipe Doosan DA45 is not performer in the long period, my opinion is the dumper is excessive flessible for the material transport.

      Hi Stefano!🙋‍♂️ Well, their durability remains to explore, I believe it it a bit to early to conclude that a machine like this won’t last!😉
      If we only had this kind of flat surroundings to haul our materials on, I would probably agree with you!
      However, this site is not representative of what we experience of terrain on our projects!😄
      We contract a lot of highway projects, and have to overcome high hills and deep valleys to haul materials where we need them! If what we have of trucks already would be ideal, our fleet management would never seek new options!😉
      I don’t see why these trucks structures wouldn’t last either, have you perhaps heard about frame issues on Bell B60’s or Volvo A60’s? They load even heavier payloads, I have never heard about any weakness on their structures!😋
      But time will tell! I’m not saying that you are wrong, only that it’s a bit too early to conclude!😋😄

      @@norwegianearthmovers Yes, time will tell. Doosan da45 decentralized center of gravity enormous torsional force on the bridge crane. It is twinned behind this leads to heavy weights on part of the chassis in rough terrain. My opinion

      Nothing has been built perfect in the first attempt, all new designs needs to be tested and adjusted!😉
      This is as I wrote the first prototype, and it will be perfected through upgrades if there are any issues discovered as we explore it over time!👌🙂
