U know what would've been a good idea from gm? Putting a detuned version of this engine in the camaro n calling it a z28. It would do a few things. Bring some popularity back to the camaro, dethrone the gt350/r,and it would've been a hallmark to the original 60s z28 - which used a high powered small displacement v8 in its races. It would've been a good way to send off the camaro. Also the 5th gen z28 camaro used the c6 zo6 engine. It typical for gm to either not utilize a very good idea or to finally create something good and then just killing it

@WindyCity1992 they had the camaro hot for a while when it was first released. Them starting with the 6th gen, they stopped doing anything with it. Yes its an underrated car in its own right. But ford was constantly doing something with the mustang until the gt500 came out. The bullitt, mach 1, engine hp increase to 460 hp, the black horse, etc. The camaro only had the 1le trim, n the zl1 - which never went over 700 hp - unless you went to callaway. Not even a detuned version of the lt5 engine from the c7 zr1 - or working with callaway to make a 750+ hp v8 to compete with the redeye and the gt500. With a manual, it goes 0-60 in 3.3 secs. I'm just saying with what we have today, my suggestion would forsure bring ppl back to chevy n away from the other 2. Even for pick up trucks, the only 'new' thing is their offroad packages - which really isn't competing with the raptor or the offroad ram trx or rho
