      They're on vacation, towed from a spot they thought they paid for. In a rental car a good day ride if not longer from home, late at night.
      It's not shocking that someone might lose their cool in that situation.

      *I AGREE* these people need to put their manners back in, but after watching so many of these I also don't think I'd go to Gatlinburg. Putting aside the obvious parking violaters, there's clearly some confusion around a lot of these parking spots - who owns what, which spots on the same street belong to who, etc. I can picture a lot of people driving long-distance, arriving late at night, and just not understanding. If the city wanted to, they could put up big, clear neon yellow parking signs that explained everything in detail.

    It seems that many of the illegal parkers who phone you (everything autos) and say they were told where to park by the hotel, church, restaurant or some random bloke walking a dog, demonstrate that in fact they do not listen when in conversation. They constantly interrupt you, ask questions then talk over you when you try to answer and often ask for your address multiple times. They see and hear what they want to see and hear. Example, in one video in which a parker was told it was O.K. to park in a spot, by one person, but ignored fourteen signs saying it was not O.K. to park.
    You learn more by listening than constantly talking.

Chicago is one of the most beautiful cities in the world and the people of Illinois are super friendly. I was just mocking her for picking every excuse in the book to get out of paying her tow fee. I did not top to think that wording it that way would hurt a whole bunch of people. I should have used the expression "on vacation" or "from out of state".

      @@kendallcarstens9194 Too sensitive my man! I took what he said, and what she said as meaning we're from far away, and have nobody to assist us. Trying to play the poor me thing instead of just accepting responsibility, and getting on with it. I get your sensitivity being from California as we get more than our fair share of people assuming we're all entitled which is obviously not the case. You said it yourself, all States have undesirable people like this, it's what makes life interesting.😁👍✌🗽

    I've said it before the hotel is not at fault, it's my belief that they give clear directions to the overflow parking lot. People pick and choose what they want to hear. Then they will lie their ass off to make themselves look like they are in the are in the right. This has been proven over and over on multiple occasions. I'm sorry Kristen had to deal with her, but she handled it perfectly. Job well done guys !

    • @Emophiliac2
      @Emophiliac2 8 месяцев назад +6

      It might behoove the hotel to give the people a paper with a map, showing exactly where the overflow parking lot is and how to get there. Might cut down on complaints. Likewise, if you paid the church for parking, weren't those numbered? I'm not sure how you pay the church and go to the wrong location. Maybe they need a handout as well.

      Seems like to park in the hotel side, you need to not follow the arrow, and basically park right along side the hotel. When people say they talked to the hotel, they probably mean they talked to the person many the front desk. That person probably doesn’t know/care, and may not even really speak English.

      We’re called by the higher ups, so it’s possible that they’re speaking with an employee who isn’t privy to the parking situation. Could be that the employee they spoke to told them that they specifically didn’t call to have the vehicle removed, but one of their managers/property owner did.

    They do need to move that overflow sign to quell the confusion (It does seem there is a communication breakdown with the front desk and customers). A long time ago the church had "church parking only" on those side spots going into the church lot. Parking got wacky over there after the repaved and built. I always parked in the lot next to Presbyterian church (where fire department is now) when I worked at the GCC. Those tourist folks need to clarify big time. Communications is the key to success.

Desperation being the mother of necessity, in places they don't have a tree to winch off, nor do they in downtown Dallas, they do the best they can with what they got. Of all the RUclips videos about towing though, nobody shows the same respect for a client's property that you do. What a masterful piece of work you did getting that Chrysler Pacifica out of a tight spot.
