Thanks for your video. I just followed your process and it worked perfect. I cut 2 extra keys for my car cus it only came with 1 Key. And I also bought 2 remote cuz my car when I bought it didn't even give with a remote so I had to keep using the key to lock and unlock the car. Now I got 3 keys and 2 remotes. I bought a little combo package of 2 keys and 2 remotes for 22 dollars. Paid 7.50 to both keys. (3.75 each). And I programmed both the keys and both the remotes myself at home firing RUclips videos. This video for my keys and another one for the remotes. So 25 bucks is right about my cost for 2 spares to my original one key (3 total now) and 2 remotes side I didn't even have 1 before. This is awesome. Locksmiths were writing be 75 to drive to my place to cut and program both keys and to Program my remotes for 125 dollars todal. Plus their disclaimer *if the keys/remotrs don't work we don't guarantee them since you got your own stuff so you would still or the money. LMAO. And the dealer wanted 250 for asking me 2 remotes and 2 keys programmed. So a little time on Amazon and RUclips and I did the entire thing for just under 30 bucks with the 2 Xtra keys, 2 extra remotes, shipping, cutting both keys and all 4 pieces programmed by me at home. This is just fabulous. I love it.
Just as a heads up for you folks. I did the same thing recently and got the transponder key blank but the new Home Depot computerized key cutter would not allow me to cut a transponder key. I went to Lowes and Walmart and they all told me there machines would cut them but they were told not do do transponder keys. I feel certain that the guys could have done it without interference from management. I found a place in Lancaster NH, an Aubuchon Hardware with an older standard key cutter that cut if for free since I already had the blank. It is an awesome store in case anyone is interested. Find a store without the computerized key cutting machine or a guy that works there that is human.
As a follow up I was able to program that key just like the video says. One cycle with the good key and one with the new, and it works. Thanks for you brave help against GM and their attempts to destroy us.
The first digit of your 17 digit VIN number must start with the number 1 or 4. If your VIN number starts with a 2 or 3 or a letter these procedures WILL NOT WORK. Check your VIN first.

Will this work on a 2002 Chevy Venture
RJ Claybrook II not sure. Shouldn't hurt to give it a try. You would have an extra door key if it didn't work.
