Appreciate the video. I have a regular 2019 Hellcat with the 3 screws outside the box. If you don't have a 90° Allen key, it's somewhat hard to get to the screws because of the rubber boot.
Make sure to remove the rubber intake tube first. It will allow much more clearance to get a straight alen driver on those bolts. I removed the bolts and left them out of the car. They're not needed. That's what the band clamp is for. Engineers like to over complicate things sometimes.
Thanks for this btw, replacement on stock 2019 not fun. Best to use torx instead of Allen wrench though on back side Allen wrench a must. Maybe a 90 degree torx tool might work? I screwed in just top screw hopefully that will be fine.
Hi Chris...nice vid. Like your oiling technique a lot better putting on the top of the pleat. Not on subject but what do you use on your black trim? Thanks
Hey John, thank you! I just keep it clean (CarPro Reset soap & water). I also use a spray sealant (CarPro Reload) every few washes on the whole car to keep it protected. You can find these products at www.carpro-us.com 🤙🏻
Can those 3 screws be replaced or just left out? A hex head or something else would be easier to put back in. It would help if the screws were out from the intake tube. Tuff to line up and get back in. I have a 2019 red eye and have plans to build very similar to yours. Love the videos.
Don't tell anyone but I only reinstalled the top screw lol It wasn't worth the trouble to keep using the other two. After installing my Kong 108mm TB and Nitrous Outlet nitrous plate I ended up not having to use the screws at all. The filter is such a tight fit now the screws are no longer needed.
Yep, there's a noticeable difference between the factory 95mm throttle body and the 108mm that was on the car at the time of this video. Anytime you can pull more air into the motor, the more power you will make. As long as you have all of the supporting mods needed. The throttle body that was on the car at the time of this video is a Kong 108mm. It's an awesome piece for sure! I'd recommend having your car tuned after installing one. Some people will say "no tune needed". In my opinion, anytime you make changes to the car, it's best to get with your tuner to make sure any and all changes are made to accommodate the new part. Hope this helps🤙
@@KelleysGarageOfficial thanks for the reply.. i have a 2020 widebody redeye.. just looking for some solid advice, and i got it thanks bro! you rock with the redeye videos!

I'm gonna do the same- only replace the top star screw and just use that band to secure the filter- the side and bottom star screws are just too hard to get to...
I’m doing this now with the same kit for my 2020 Hellcat. Is 100 the right amount of oil. The site only has recommended oil amount for the Ram filters. I just don’t want to over oil.
@@KelleysGarageOfficial awesome…thanks man. I saw another RUclips video where the guy used 32 ml of oil from the same S&B kit on his Hellcat filter, but it was a bwoody filter and looked a lot smaller than the OEM filter.
Yeah the Redeye filter is a monster compared to the S&B. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions along the way. Make sure that filter is 100% dry before applying oil.🤙
@@KelleysGarageOfficial I just oiled it . I put 62 ml so far and the outside looks pretty well covered. When I look inside you can see some spots where it hasn’t completely bled through. Should I continue to go up to 70 ml or leave it be
You would be surprised.. I've had a lot of people reach out to tell me how our videos have helped then in many ways. Hopefully they've helped you as well (assuming you own a Hellcat😎)! Thank you for watching🙂
Yeah NO dude just buy the K&N cleaning and oil kit with the aerosol can spray oil. It takes about 10 seconds to re-oil the filter and it looks perfect. That oil you are using is way too heavy of an application and messy too.
I put the oil in a small spray bottle it gets more coverage in a smaller amount of time.
Awesome video bro keep up the good work.. nice detailed video. God Bless

Did you know the Demon race filter has 1 less layer of cotton than the stock Redeye filter?
Why would you not use a K&N filter cleaning kit? Looks like using the spray oil in the K&N kit seems easier to apply. Just asking...
My opinion on the spray method of applying the oil would be that it would lay too inconsistent. Not knocking K&N just not what I prefer to use.
Hey Chris.. I'm curious why you dont run a cold air intake like JLT or legmaker?
I don't believe there is a need for an aftermarket CAI on the Redeye platform. We've run 9.30 @146 on the factory setup😎

You should use about 80ml then wait about 20 minutes or so, then add if needed. It's better to under oil than apply too much.

Nope. They need to be oiled in order to catch dirt and debris. If you look at the brand new filter you can see it comes pre-oiled from the factory.
