That's the way to do it! People that struggle with this are easing into the throttle, which kicks off the LC; you have to stomp the throttle to the floor and hold it like you did. Well done Sir...
I think what a lot of people fail to understand that fundamentally launch control is different than traction control. It's written into the tune to allow maximum 0-60 etc. It controls torque to where when it detects wheel spin it backs of the power for a split second to allow traction to be gained and then allows full power again. I regularly get 4.2 0-60 ET times on my stock 2019 Scat Charger. I use launch control probably 4-5 times a day and its become second nature at this point. If I just mash the gas at a light in sport or track, it just lays thick swaths of rubber lol.
I know this is late but I have only launched a hellcat once would you launch it like this guy did on the track like a drag race or would it be different when on the track
@@dragonhunter2264 it’s different on the track. I had upgraded to a hellcat and now last week or so upgraded to a Redeye charger. Can’t really use launch at track because if torque bucks when it builds up boost, will cause you to redlight
@@dragonhunter2264 I raced both my regular Hellcat Charger and Redeye Charger at the track and have tried every combination possible. Best luck I had was a soft pedal until around 30 mph and then bury the pedal.
How does this work in a manual? I assume you don't have to use the brake pedal, just have to have the wheel straight and clutch in, mash the gas, and let the clutch out nice and quick?
I've seen other videos (on The Fast Lane Car channel) where instead of using launch control, they started in manual in 2nd gear, then shifted back into drive once it hooked up (and before hitting the limiter). Have you tried this?

This very fast for a vehicle that weighs almost 4500lbs, 0-60 5 seconds. Launch control on the street is about 4.5 4.2 seconds. It's not going to hit that on the street on regular tires. Maybe on the dragstrip on different tires.
I've got the crappy all-seasons, and my best is a 4.3. No good, but expected I guess with the tires I've got. You said you're running Mickey's? What size/type? Do you like them? Thanks again!
When you say, it will hold until you want. At this point do you have both feet on each pedal, then when you are ready to launch, you just release the brake. It seems to be the missing piece from any of the instructions I've seen here.
You push the break in until the dial hits the number you set it at. Then you release the break and press the gas at the same time. It took me quite a few times to get it. 😬
Whenever I try to do this it starts spinning the tires. Like am I not holding the break down hard enough or what? I haven't had a solid launch since I've owned the car.
1st hold the break down very hard , then quickly mash the gas pedal all the way down and hold it down. Hold both down and then when it tells you to release the break, release the break and take off
I still am nor understanding. launch control just unlocked and I played with it a bit. you actually full throttle the gas to activate it while your pounding on the brakes? than Just take foot off the brake to let er rip?
Terry Graham exactly what the cluster is telling him to do lol you hold the brake, full throttle on gas, the comp holds the rpm at the set level, when you release the brake it takes off lol
Also to be noted on Hellcats you have to hit 500 miles before you can use launch control, your steering wheel has to be straight you access this after 500 miles in the performance pages by hitting the SRT button.
Don't launch a car unless it's engineered to drag race. I tried this stuff with my Dodge Journey and the engine hoses and thermostat blew the next day. It cost me $1000 to fix.
First of all, the torque converter can’t even do 3500 without doing a burnout, and that bring it to the 2nd reason. Don’t matter what tires you are on, at 3500rpm, you are incinerating your tires
Am I missing something? I thought the whole point of Launch Control was to spool up the turbo to prevent lag or delay. Why do you need it on a supercharged engine? Also, the low 1500RPM launch seems anti-climactic.
Thats the reason on turbo setups yes. But it's pretty obvious launching from from idle is not going to to be as effective as being able to launch from higher rpm. no matter if its turbo, supercharged or naturally aspirated.
Excellent vedio ,but please, next time don't use google translate cause it sucks when translating from English to Arabic. Almost more that 60% of what you said was not translated correctly.
Well done and simple video. Appreciate the concise video without a bunch of BS. Thanks again!!!!
Thanks! glad it helped
0-60 at 3.5 seconds. Awesome! Great execution!

Great clarity. I was scratching my head a little over launch control. Apparently a lot of guys have/had same questions.

Excuse my language but hell f***ing yea!!!
Nice video and must of had drag tires on during video as no spin. Very nice
That sounds so fucken nice man
Seems very easy to do........ BRB !
So you had your foot on the brake and gas at the same time before you launched?
So when activated all you do is take your foot off the brake and it goes?
So you press the brake, hold, then floor it. But it wont go till you release brake correct?

For this it’s alot of test and trial it fails or Boggs out sometimes
I know this was years ago but what year is/was your hellcat
I have got 3.3 0-60 on Mickey Drag radials at the track leaving easy in my Hellcat without launch control. Hope to better that in a few weeks.

What was your zero to 60 time?
I’m going to try to use it at the track
Awesome
Can you do launch control and time your 60 at same time
what size and type of mickey thompsons do you have?

3.5 ish seconds, but it spun like hell so probably 4 seconds
just wanna see the new wheels on the 5.0 already

I have lunch control in my 2014 srt challenger manual transmission, how can I use it.
I would appreciate your help.
Sure just feed it the right die or it’ll get obese, jk my uncle had a srt8 challenger I forgot how he did it
Do you have to have both pedals pressed down at the same time before you launch?

Is it stock
Even tho i don't have one i wanna watch
Ts actually sounds like a cat when u mashed the break
what 0-60 did u just run there?
What’s your best 0-60 in the hellcat?
idk haven't really tried. With some heat in the tires it can dead hook, unlike in this video where it was spinning bad lol

Both feet on pedals to hold
Do you keep the break pushed the entire time? I’ve been dyeing to try it on mine.
This is the right question.
I finally figured out how to do it:) It’s like a stick shift (just different pedals). You release the break and press the gas at the same time.
You push the break in until the dial hits the number you set it at. Then you release the break and press the gas at the same time. It took me quite a few times to get it. 😬
Listen to that baby scream!!!!!
It’s sooo hard to hook up, my best has been 3.8sec… still spinning. I think the best someone has clocked on regular street has been 3.6
Better tyres? Slicks?
Can you use launch control and record your 0-60 time at the same time?
yes

Yes. Floor the brake then floor the gas. You don't even have to touch the brake after it engages. Just keep it straight.

On Hellcats and Scat packs the launch control system helps you build up power for a quick launch for acceleration
Also to be noted on Hellcats you have to hit 500 miles before you can use launch control, your steering wheel has to be straight you access this after 500 miles in the performance pages by hitting the SRT button.

Why would you try that in a passenger SUV. SRT products are built to launch so there is no problem here
Do it at 3500 rpm
First of all, the torque converter can’t even do 3500 without doing a burnout, and that bring it to the 2nd reason. Don’t matter what tires you are on, at 3500rpm, you are incinerating your tires
Tyrone B 😂I’ve seen others do it at 3500 and I’ve done it. This is launch control. It’s not like normal cars. Stick to video games
