    Hey couple! I'm from Brasil, and I love music too, "from the lyrics of Territory, one can question the US imperialist interests in the Middle East, since the band raises this militaristic, economic and ethnic issue."(from google)...the official music video for the song was filmed in Palestine and Israel, they drink tea with Palestinians and not with Israelis. But returning here to Brazil, we Latinos believe that this music serves the great imperialists, like the North Americans, rich Europe and Israel. Some of us...lol, but the fact is this song is badass and the interpretation is free for anyone who hears it...but I agree with what Vin said about Trump...we went through the same fascist old cake recipe here with Bolsonaro. Be at peace and continue with the channel!

    It's obvious for brazilians, but not for for others. The song is about any dictator, specially about the military dictatorship, which ended at the end of the 80's. Also about the wars for territory occurring at the time. Also, the "war for territory" can be a reference to the elections and candidates fighting with lies for the people's minds.

    When Sepultura recorded 'Chaos A.D.' in 1993, they wrote a lot of social commentary... their 1991 album 'Arise' was a death metal masterpiece, but they wanted a record that would set them apart. They lived under Brazilian dictatorships... they lived under military rule & political violence. All the members felt ostracized in Brazil and distanced themselves from the hypocrisy of the Catholic church that had power over the country. Max & Iggor Cavalera's father died, when Max was only 9... he & Iggor and their mom nearly became homeless, and they were angry at the world as teens in the 80's when they got into heavy metal. Max was the frontman, Iggor was the drummer... Jairo Guedz joined on guitar, and Paulo Jr. on live bass
    Sepultura was founded in 1984 and they were a black metal band initially... inspired by Venom, Hellhammer and Slayer... they were raw and awful, but somehow built a fanbase in Brazil. Max was the frontman, Iggor was the drummer... Jairo Guedz joined on guitar, and Paulo Jr. on live bass... Max would play rhythm guitar, but was not that good at it... but u didn't need much skill to play like early Venom. Their EP 'Bestial devastation' in 1985 was followed by a full album 'Morbid visions' in 1986 (Max played bass on those records).
    Guitarist Andreas Kisser replaced Jairo in 1987 and the band made a sonic leap w/ the 'Schizophrenia' album in 1987... Roadrunner records finally signed the band in 1989 and producer Scott Burns (who would record albums by Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, Suffocation, etc) helped them record their international debut album 'Beneath the remains'... they played the US for the first time in 1990 before Iggor was even old enough to enter the clubs they played in. Burns also produced the next album 'Arise' in 1991 and Sepultura climbed to one of the biggest thrash metal bands in the world.
    The 1993 album 'Chaos A.D.' became their biggest selling record, w/ half million copies sold in the US... it was also a departure from the extreme metal sound to a more streamlined metal delivery, which also incorporated traditional Brazilian rhythms and influences into their music... they recorded an instrumental 'Kaiowas' as a tribute to a native South American tribe that committed mass suicide because the Brazilian government was forcibly taking away their land.
    The album consisted on brutal, real life commentary - 'Refuse/ resist'... 'Slave new world' (the music video depicted people having their heads shaved and marked w/ a bar code)... 'Amen' ( about the dangers of religious cults) ... 'Propaganda' (which is still relevant today)...
    Sepultura went full-on punk rock & also covered Jello Biafra's "Biotech is Godzilla" and New Model Army's "The Hunt".
    The video for "Territory" was filmed in the Middle East, w/ band members covered in mud in the Dead Sea. The lyrics were inspired by the Israel/Palestine conflict.
    Unfortunately, during the making of the 1996 album 'Roots' that incorporated what would be known as 'nu metal' to Sepultura's sound, Max had a falling out w/ the other members at the peak of their career... because his wife Gloria managed the band, and they were not happy w/ her work... So, Max left and formed Soulfly in 1998... Iggor Cavalera left in 2006 to reconcile w/ his brother Max.
    But w/ Soulfly constantly changing members, the speculation that Max Cavalera was not the musical force he was assumed to be in Sepultura has become more prominent... especially after later records undersold & longtime guitarist Marc Rizzo left the band under less than amicable circumstances.
    Sepultura has carried on w/ Andreas Kisser (guitar) and Paulo Jr. (bass) w/ Derrick Green (vocals)... they added an extraordinary drummer Eloy Casagrande around 2012 and have steadily climbed out of the shadow of their past... New fans have embraced them, who were born after their 1996 split. They still get old Sepultura fans cursing them out for carrying on without the Cavalera brothers... but they have been doing well lately in sales and on the road...

    • @yukas1ngas
      @yukas1ngas 2 года назад +1

      I thought that Sepultura ended without Max Cavalera. I was mistaken.
      Cover on "Angel" blew my mind.
      They changed one or two phrases to opposite, so it's kind of anticover.
      Then I tried their Kairos and I liked it

      @@swampcrypt YOU may not "think" this... but the fact that Soulfly (and Cavalera Conspiracy) has been losing ground this last decade is proof that u are wrong... Max's record sales are down... only when he & Iggor dig up old Sepultura tunes in concert are people interested... but not as much as Sepultura's peak years...
      Max Cavalera is a trooper no doubt - a true metalhead... but all I said was that he was perceived to be the 'talent' in Sepultura, so when he left, most assumed the band was over... but Soulfly did not take off the way Sepultura did. That's a fact... Sepultura was successful because of the musical chemistry that Andreas, Iggor and Max had together.
      Nailbomb was Max and Alex Newport... just as Soulfly had been him & Marc Rizzo for years... Killer Be Killed was Max, Greg Puciato, Troy Sanders, etc.
      Marc Rizzo was a huge part of making them (and Cavalera Conspiracy) a force in metal... and he's out now. "Rusty" is Metallica... Max is not 'rusty'... he's just recycling the same ideas repeatedly and audiences have gotten bored. I hate to admit that, but that's where he is now...
      Sepultura is peaking creatively w/ the current line-up. It was just the BS perception that the band was not Sepultura without Max & Iggor, and their first records w/ Derrick Green were hardcore influenced, not 'bad' records... but they had great albums ('Dante XXI' and 'A-Lex') on a crappy label SPV that went bankrupt by 2010... 'Kairos' was on Nuclear Blast (a better label) in 2011 w/ Jean Dolabella on drums and that record was a turning point for Sepultura... and each record has gotten better over the last decade... Their live shows have always been incendiary... It's only recently that they finally are coming out of that past 'shadow' and people are realizing what a great band they are... Then & now.

      @@swampcrypt Ur not gonna read it cos it's "too long"?😂 And yet u babble and 'lol' like a schoolgirl 😂
      I said that Sepultura was successful because of the combined efforts of Max, Andreas & Iggor... but u take 1 or 2 members out? U lose that chemistry... So, it is going to be different. And btw I'm no 'newbie' fan - I got into Sepultura in 1992 after 'Arise' came out. I never said Max Cavalera wasn't talented... just that he is clearly not James Hetfield, or Dave Mustaine or Kerry King... and that's obvious now. Andreas Kisser was a huge part of Sepultura's success... and their current records.
      And FYI - 'Morbid visions' was Jairo who played most of the guitars (Max played the bass)... that was why 'Schizophrenia' sounded so different (Andreas was the main guitarist and played bass on that one) ... If Max was the main guitarist, it wouldn't have made much difference.
      Watch the old live footage w/ Jairo on guitar... and then w/ Andreas... U cab hear the change. Max never played much guitar live. That's a fact.

    • @sumonjamal1653
      @sumonjamal1653 2 года назад

      @@swampcrypt 😂😂😂😂"wussy thrash bands of the 80's"???
      And that is exactly why your opinion is worthy of a good toilet flush 🤧
      The only reason Max was the 'star' of Sepultura was because his wife Gloria made him that, being the band's manager. He did contribute great ideas & lyrics, but he was only 1/3 of a great band that was Sepultura (Paulo Jr. made it clear he wasn't big on writing music - he was just the bass player).
      Derrick Green is just as powerful a vocalist, lyricist and performer as Max... but he became the scapegoat of the Sepultura split, and that was unfortunate. Sepultura live today is still a juggernaut as they have always been...
      Max and his projects just don't have the cohesiveness that metal bands need to break big... Hell, 2006 to 2016 were huge years for thrash metal bands from Megadeth to Slayer to Testament... and both Soulfly and Cavalera Conspiracy declined those years... while bands like Lamb of God, Cannibal Corpse, Goatwhore, Meshuggah, Napalm Death, Behemoth, Dying Fetus, Dimmu Borgir ... all peaked in their careers.
      I don't hate on Max & Iggor... but his popularity declined for a reason... he wasn't delivering apparently. Max didn't "bring anything"... he relied on the talents of other musicians to carry him musically. He would have been high on the charts by now if he had truly been a top calibre talent like Andreas Kisser or the guys in Krisiun... Even Marc Rizzo bailed and said he was not happy his last few years w/ Max...
      Kerry King mostly wrote Slayer's 'Repentless' album and it hit #4 on the US charts, while Soulfly's 'Ritual' failed to chart in 2018.
      That is proof in the pudding...

    • @sumonjamal1653
      @sumonjamal1653 2 года назад

      @@swampcrypt It doesn't help Max's image either when he pretends to play guitar onstage and fakes it... He's admitted as much. And he doesn't rehearse w/ his band - which is why they sound so shaky live. Maybe metal fans got tired of it... I don't know.
      I just recall seeing Soulfly in 2004 and the best part of the show was Marc Rizzo shredding on guitar and then throwing flamenco bits in between...
      Sepultura on the other hand were 4 guys that were relentless on stage... just incredible live overall.

    No reunion foreseen in years... Max replaced.... new vocalist doesn't even match the growling like Max Cavalera. Schizophrenia record is a Death Metal classic

    Isn't Trump the only president in 21th century who managed to not put USA in a new war?

    This whole review was extremely disappointing. Completely missed the 100 thousand foot view of human nature to fight each other for resources. You exist because of that, and with cost to other life. You both should have dived a little deeper on this one.
