But now at 45 years old I can actually appreciate this album a lot more.
I like the album, but it marks the beginning of the end for old Sepultura. "Roots" was the worst one. With Derrik they arose! "Against" and "Nation" are better than "Chaos A.D.", but nothing comes closer to "Arise".

At the time all of us who had been Sepultura fans going back pretty deeply were a bit taken back by how much the bandi had slowed down on this album but the brilliant grooves and the emphasis on the percussion elements interacting with the guitars was pretty hard to resist or refuse. They would take this to an even further extreme on the next record 'Roots." Anyway as usual your reactions are always so energetic and feel as though they come from this wonderful place of honest discovery. I absolutely love that you guys have never fronted like you are long-term metal fans, you've always been straight up about how all this stuff is very new to you. I think it's going to be very interesting to hear what your newer material it's going to sound like with all of this diverse music that you've been exposed to now. Keep up the great work you guys are awesome. M.

Max listening to a lot of Fudge Tunnel was the best thing that ever happened. Damn, this album, what an intense crushing behemoth it was, and remains to this day. I couldn't get on with Sepultura after Max left. It just didn't quite gell for me. Still in my top five of favourite Metal Bands. Thanks for doing so much of their earlier catalogue lately, some of the finest music ever written. 🤘🤘

The song & video is all about d endless, sense less century old war between muslims & christians in Israel. Until today. & their video was shot in Isreal. When METAL was still political & intelligent. Not just all noise & heavily-distorted guitar unlike today. \m/
