Iana Kaisan left her home country of Ukraine to come to Los Angeles with big dreams of becoming a model. It was there where she met Blake Liebel, the father of her first daughter and ultimately the man that would brutally murder her. Savannah explores the privileged, yet strange life of Blake Liebel and the horrendous scene of Iana's murder that various sources described as potentially the most gruesome murder in the history of Los Angeles.

I can't believe how the police didn't take the mother seriously when she first called; it makes me mad that Iana probably could've been alive if they had gotten inside. but even if the police would've gone in I feel like the guy would've still killed Iana just to show he's in control, but she probably would've suffered less. Its so hard to hear these kinds of stories..like why are people crazy. I can't imagine what Iana went through and in her final moments was just probably thinking about her daughter and her family.
Omggg I know! I wish they would have gone when she first called. This case is so gutwrenching. I feel horrible for Iana and her family. 💕

his mugshots at 19:50 literally made me jump. he looks completely out of his mind. i can't even imagine having to go through what iana went through, it makes me so sad and mad at the same time.
I feel so bad for the daughter, now she has to grow up without a mother and the fact that her father killed her, the mental trauma that she will have to go through...
This makes me so upset because if the police would have followed through with the welfare check, and went inside she probably would’ve been alive today. At least her baby was with her mom, I can’t imagine what he would’ve done if the baby had been there.
How did no one in the surrounding apartments hear anything? You know she had to have been making a lot of noise, getting her scalp ripped of.
This case is so incredibly sad. Their poor daughter, the poor mom. Just so terrible, I feel so much sadness for what she must have gone through in those 8 long hours.

I think people don’t want to get involved maybe? I personally can’t understand it. I will get up in anyone’s business if I think someone is being hurt.
It’s sad that if someone ask her where her mother is she’ll have to say ‘my dad killed my mother’ or something like that

How did anybody in the apartment complex not hear Iana scream or the sounds of a struggle? I’m sure she made some kind of noise or there was noise during all of it. If they did, it wasn’t reported and that is horrible. This is so sad and her death could have been prevented if police went in sooner.😕
Neighbors said they heard her screams but didn't bother to call the cops.

This is horrifying!!! I had a C section and the Dr said not to have sex for 6 weeks after. I think that maybe the same for a vaginal delivery too. I’m appalled by this case. Any Murder is senseless but this hit me particularly hard. Great work Savannah.
Yeah vaginal delivery is the same, in either case you need to give your body time to heal, he was a disgusting awful person who clearly didn’t care about anyone but himself x

The fact that she was still alived 8 hours after she was scalped is insane! 😩 it kind of reminds me of the junka furuta case, but that case was absolutely horrific! People are fucking terrible

Hands down one of the most disturbing cases I’ve ever heard of and Ew wtf .. she gives birth and he wants to sleep with her less than 3 weeks after giving birth ??? You’re not supposed to have sex after giving birth . At that point, I would have left that dude . So sad and such a beautiful lady too 😔

It's the torture that seems so unreal. Like, okay, he was a terrible person and was jealous and controlling, but 8 hours of torture?? How can anyone do that to someone?? Especially the mother of his child. This case is so, so sad. I feel so sad for Iana's mother and her daughter. I hope it's even the tiniest bit of solace to them that he's never getting out of prison.

I wish Sherlock Holmes was a real person. He doesn’t screw up cases (even though he’s fictional) and police just screw over majority of them. They dismiss people and evidence too quickly, without thinking twice. And our justice system can be a joke sometimes. My heart goes out the family❤️

This is such a sad situation no matter how you look at it. It's also very scary. May Allah have mercy on Lana's daughter. I can imagine her fear, thinking about her baby, her life, her family. What a monster that man is.
Wish I could give this video more than one "like"! Very original story, never heard of this one before. It's a complex case and you told it well. Blake reminds me of my ex, and it makes me feel lucky I got out. People like Blake start to accelerate when they age, it sounds like he had a relatively normal marriage as a younger man and then started to spin faster and faster after leaving is first wife, getting in a relationship with Iana, then Constance, swirling around and around. And then you are right, the hours and hours with Iana were just about getting satisfactions from control. So sad for all the lives he touched, be was like a tornado tearing up everything in his path.

I think that there needs to be some New Law due to these things happening more often then not I say. The POLICE when called to do welfare checks should have some kind of rights so that they can enter a home if need be. What sticks out to me is that upon some research, the cover of the graphic novel Syndrome is a baby doll with its brain exposed... Kinda like a scalping. And it made me extremely uncomfortable to see, because it makes me think there is definitely something behind the prosecution’s idea that he was trying to bring his graphic novel

I’m curious if they said when her time or date of death was. I know it took them 3 days to actually take it seriously and break in. But had she been dead since the first day she left her mom shopping? Or had she been kept there and not killed until the second of third day?

U are totally wrong about the 42 million. He's broke. He only had a couple of million from his mother. He spent it all on lawyers. His father is loaded, but his father didn't and never really liked him. So he's not going to pay out anything. So there is no money for the kid.
All I can hope was that Iana was taken out of her body during the torture even though the body was still alive. Blake should have gotten the death penalty.
