Again, Quill, you'll want to read up on planet habitability changes. You don't need different techs to colonize each planet type anymore. Notice you can already colonize the tundra as well as arctic planets. Also, you should be able to survey the black hole in your borders - there's no enemy ship icons on it, meaning it's clear.
Addiction to loving all of the other types of persons out there, and cuddling with those slimeballs of fungus, or boney arthropods... whether they like it or not!
"Si vis pacem para bellum" should be the quote you've been looking for. Just sounds better in the original language. But I think, our dear Mr. Eightteen refers to something like "The Quill is mightier than the sword!" And I'm quite sure that this is the original quote. Like 100 % sure.
Hey quill you should really dock up your fleet in your space ports. Based on your technology you spare a lot of energy. (It is like low maintance in EU4)
Surveying scientist rank up very fast. Age is only a problem for the scientists in research and not the ones out in the field. Thats what the risk is supposed to balance out. Just survey everything, instead of cherrypicking and you should never have a problem with underranked scientists. You dont have to do every anomaly as soon as you find them. Just level a little and return later.
+kommo1 from my experience it takes like ten years of survey to get to level five (might be a little off as the last I played weren't good learners) and with the fleeting trait they might well die before then, though I've never played fleeting to know as venerable is the best trait
well. its not like they cant tackle low level anomalys, during that time period. also quill had the chance to recruit a resiliant scientist instead off the genius.
You couldn't build a frontier outpost because you had the science ship selected as well! You have to chose the construction ship only, then the option will come back :)
Joel Mccrea I would only recommend that if you have the +90 year on leaders trait. and even then you must wait until you got a good fleet. What I mostly do is wait for the event that gives you a leader on lvl 2 with 2 random traits, gained from fighting.
Dutch The Guy leaders are important even with the fleeting trait, especially early on. they give planet modifiers to reduce costs of clearing blockers, constructing buildings and happiness. happier pops output more resources. late game I'd only advise putting sector governors and admirals/generals if you're currently fighting because resources shouldn't be a problem at that point and you research tech to extend the average length of your leaders lives.
xoamburr I said they're less useful with the fleeting trait, not unimportant. This is a reason I never get the fleeting trait except for immersion, and playing against hard ai and with the increased space-thing power I never get early adm. Govs however I do almost always get, except if my influence is gone due to getting spiritiual unity for the pop growth. ((They must praise their one and only god, their saviour and salvation : The God-Emperor of Mankind. The shiniest of gods.))
1 episode a day is not enough LOL, and then i went to watch japan, but no episode 2 and i checked twitch and for some reason the start of the game isn't recorded :(
Chris Chance he started the the Japan game on the same stream as he finished the Norway stream. So it should be the last stream with Norway, just taked on to the end
Damnit, I'm keen to get back into it but there is less than a day before the patch and chances are it'll break all my mods and I'll need to restart anyway :( Guess I'll go shoot some folk until the patch hits instead :P
You can't. Quill and other youtubers get access early because it is free promotion for paradox, you (and all of us) have to wait until it gets officially released.
Jon Rueckert didnt played yet. I personally dont play early access games until they come out, but i was watching enterelysium play it and looks pretty good
You should order your ships to orbit your planet to save maintenance costs for them.

I like that they give you something for taking out the pirate base, since it makes dealing with them slightly less of a chore
Even when he's playing a peaceful race of hippies quill is still planning war and conquest.. lol =P
It's Xenophile, not pacifist, conquest is allowed as long as your society is multicultural Imo
+Andrea Bre he played te biggest war mongoring civilization in te galaxy with a peaceful empire
Addiction is a powerful thing

More like garrison in Civ 5
Wormhole access in the treaties just allows you to build wormhole stations in their boarders
An admiral would have been nice for the fight against the pirates.
the adm. would after that be useless though.
There are always space monsters to clear and you can minimize your ship losses and repair costs.
NADster36 in this stage of the game, he'll not really be able to take any on. esspecially as 1.3 makes them more concentrated instead of spread.

quill they took out all the planet specific colonization techs, the only requirement for colonizing is be above 30% habitability.
above 40/50% I believe.
30% or more is the requirement
I'm fairly certain it's 40%? With no modifiers.. You can get down to 30% with two technologies I believe.
Nice, just finished the first episode of Japan and now a can continue with the Tal'Akkur.
black whole is NOT defended, if it would be then your sensors (green dotted line) would've picked them up!
quill just save all the anomalies till your scientist is level 4 or 5 then go back and do them all
He can't really do that as his leaders die so quickly, though he could wait a bit, I'm not sure they'll live long enough to get good levels

Sometimes you can't build frontier outposts until the Star has have surveyed. Same as you can't colonise a planet until it has been surveyed.
notice my comment quill; subscribed since the first stellaris walkthrought !

Quill18 You need an admiral for that fleet and a govenor for your new planet buddy.
the adm. is not needed, as it won't make much difference in the early game. And his leaders are fleeting making them even less useful.
I guess i never thought about not getting them right away, because I want to start them leveling up.
Joel Mccrea I would only recommend that if you have the +90 year on leaders trait. and even then you must wait until you got a good fleet. What I mostly do is wait for the event that gives you a leader on lvl 2 with 2 random traits, gained from fighting.
Never thought of that...thanks for the tip...im gonna start doing that and see how it goes.
what if you build a wormhole station in every colony system so you can jump in a continuous line to your borders in the event of war or other things
Quill you do know you can move the city center when you upgrade it right?
i like what are you doing ,man
Yelling *lure the damned pirates out!*
Hey Quill
For the love of god, man, start appointing leaders! Especially governors!
he has the fleeting trait, this would make them way less useful.

Yeah, it says on the launcher that 1.3 will break ALL prior saves, even unmodded ones so I'm waiting too
This Dlc comes out the 20th, how can o get it early and when that happens how can i get it to work?
You can't. Quill and other youtubers get access early because it is free promotion for paradox, you (and all of us) have to wait until it gets officially released.
it is call press preveiw, that is what Quill has.
you can't they gave out press copies, all the big streamers got a copy i think
Blame the internet :P
endless space >>>>>> stellaris
personally I like both.
what about endless space 2?
Jon Rueckert didnt played yet. I personally dont play early access games until they come out, but i was watching enterelysium play it and looks pretty good
Rafael Monteiro I agree, It seems good and as an other youtuber said (Arch Warhammer) ''I can't see how they're gonna fuck this up.''
