    Dear Joachim, amazing video!!! Amazing journey!!! This train has it all: technique (power via 3rd rail and aerial) breathtaking scenario, tunnels, bridges, hidden towns... And an annoying kid chatting all the journey!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Congratulations my friend!!! 👍👍👍😊

    Very nice video. This railway has it all. Three rail and overhead contact line plus a steep section with cogs. Amazing.

    Very good vid. The designer of this route is a genius or a nutter. Probably designed for the construction of the power plant at the summit. Reliable all weather transport of material and machinery. Which attracted tourists and passengers to see and walk, ski etc in the mountains.

    Excellent video, amazing landscapes and towns, just one question, why the use of the third rail plus overhead for power ,seeing the potential danger to the third rail.

    Thanks for the beautiful video. I took this train once: in 1969. I remember it vividly, but I have seen a lot more details in your video, as I could stop (and rewind at times) to compare with Google Maps. Still , I couldn't figure out what the large bridge across the main road in Le Chatelard was for. Some mining activity?

      From summer 2017 there are swiss signals on the whole line from Saint-Gervais to Martigny

    Klasse Mitfahrt! Solche Strecken sieht man selten aus der Sicht des Lokführers. Wie ist denn die Durchschnittsgeschwindigkeit auf dieser Strecke?

      Hi Thomas. Danke dir👍👍. Die geschwindigkeit ist abhängig von das teil der strecke.
      Folgendes steht daruber in Wikipedia: "Zwischen Martigny und Le Châtelard, 18 Kilometer lange Strecke braucht mann 45 Minuten. Heutzutage beträgt das Tempolimit auf dem Rack zwischen Vernayaz und Salvan 25 km / h, aber 16 km / h werden gefahren und auf der normalen Route 70 km / h, auf dem kurvenreichen Teil zwischen Salvan und Le Châtelard-Frontière 25 km / h gefahren. Nur auf dem ersten Teil zwischen Martigny und Vernayaz fährt der Zug mit Geschwindigkeit."

    Not good having third rail when there's snow and ice. And it's also a electrocution risk for people

      Ha Onno. Op deze strecke hebben ze gedeeltelijk bovenleiding en de rest een stroomrail langs het spoor. Op sommige stukken hebben ze ook nog tandrad vanwege de steiging / daling. Prettig weekend verder. Groet, Joachim.

      Is denk ik wat lastig aangezien er een deel in Frankrijk ligt en een deel in Zwitserland.... Maakt besluitvorming vaak wat gecompliceerd.
