Thank you Hugo for another extremely interesting video, with much information in the captions! The Uetlibergbahn is certainly a very unusual line. It has a dual role of both suburban railway and a tourist line. One thing you did not mention is that, unusually for Switzerland, the timetable which runs at weekends is completely different from that which operates Mondays to Fridays. At weekends the trains to the summit run every 20 minutes, and there are no short workings to Triemli. (Also I did not realise that Uitlikm was a quite large village!)

It's evident that they cater more to tourism on the weekends and the shuttles for commuters! Indeed, Uitikon is massive for a small village on the hillside and whilst the station is a bit out of the way, it's well used by residents :)

Lovely video as always. I wonder: The thing that goes beep beep beep (3x) in certain situations, is that a DMS or something else? Also, is the lever right above the accelerator/brake a sander?
Thank you so much for your kind comment! The triple beep is the warning alarm when passing a single aspect yellow signal, which is a small knob that the driver has to twist in order to acknowledge the warning of potential danger ahead, if I'm not mistaken... it might sound for other reasons too, but don't quote me on it, I'm not the driver :) The lever you mentioned is I believe a cruise speed controller, so the driver adjusts their max speed that is to be maintained with... again, I'm not sure of the technical term for it, but I hope that explains it enough :)
Hi. The tripple beep is a way to ensure the driver confirms that there is either a change of speed or a closed signal ahead. The lever right above the accelerstor is a to set the maximum allowed speed. So for example if it is 60 and the driver sets it as sixty, they can basically gove full power and the speed wont go over 60. Some trains, speed up or slow down automatcally to set speed once its confirmed (pressed down). It also keeps track of your corrent speed so if for example youre deiving 60 and theres a part coming up at which you need to drive 40, you can set the speed to 60 during the part where 60 is allowed and prep 40 during the time youre drving 60 and confirm the speed once you want to slow down or not accelerate above that.
