Fascinating information along the way. Thank you for another lovely ride, very smooth and quiet. Hello from England where the weather to day is much the same as your video.
Oooooooh it's an absolute honour to be called the swiss Don Coffey!!! I'm so happy you enjoyed it!! Well if you tell that to all the other don coffey followers and they come watch my videos too, I can promise you this I'll try to make this channel as great as his ;)
I'm delighted to hear that you got to learn about the controversy of this line!✨️✨️ I'm glad you didn't mind the rain too much either^^ Have a great day 🍓!☀️
Thank you Hugo for another good video. I was not bothered by the exposure problem. I think you need to stress that the function of this tramline is very different from that of the parallel S-Bahn. The tram takes about 20 minutes longer because it has numerous intermediate stops. The S-Bahn has only three stops between KIlwangen and Altstetten!
You're very welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed it and weren't too bothered by the exposure! Indeed the tram 20 serves a very different purpose in my eyes, I was just explaining the political opinion of many residents and why despite the green light for construction, a referendum was still held to try to stop it from happening, which only barely got rejected. I guess residents just didn't feel that this line was as justified as you and I see it :)
an interesting bit of info you missed out was at 12:19. from this point onwards the tram Switches from VBZs 600V DC power to BDWMs 1200V DC. the tram does it automatically with no input from the driver other than having zero traction for 60m and using momentum to get through. should the driver have to stop in the non powered section, the tram has the option to run on internal batteries with a range of 200m. The reason for the change of voltage is the tramlinks gain more tractive power and faster acceleration, and the powergrid is shared in Dietikon together with the narrowgauge line BDWM
The map has always been an important part for me, I totally agree!! If I was watching a cab ride video, the first thing I would do is look up the route on a map to get a better understanding of the line :) You're very welcome!
Oh dear, that's not good! I hope they start fx fixing them, but I guess you're right that Switzerland does like to pay close attention to making road signs neat :)
@@hugobazin8052 They haven't done it in years and I don't think they'll start doing it, they're only interested in making money with unapproved speed cameras and blaming newly licensed drivers.
From the video it looks like this line does not move many people. Was this during morning rush hour or after rush hour. I most definitely watched the video again and I seen so much more once again thank you for a great video
This was filmed mid morning, around 10.30 am, so I would say that that qualifies as between the morning and lunchtime rush :) But I do think that the line, despite being controversial and relatively new, has had a big uptake in ridership overall. You're very welcome, I'm delighted that you enjoyed this video so much!!
J'aimerais bien faire les commentaires en allemand et français, mais cela nécessite beaucoup de temps pour moi, donc je pense que ceci vont rester en anglais pour le moment pour être adapté aux plus de personnes possible
Despite the weather that was an enjoyable ride. I thank you for the geological history lesson. The captions were excellent - easy to read and on screen long enough to do so. I can only fault you on one of them - the one referring to the depot turn-out. I suspect you cribbed it from the video in the other direction. It doesn't matter where you are, there will always be some group of people who bitch about one development or another. I think there was only one stop where you did not pick up a waiting passenger. I suspect the locals on the route appreciate the service.
I'm glad you enjoyed the ride!! Yes the geological history lesson was a little extra from my personal knowledge that I thought was interesting! :) I'm glad you thought the captions were suited and I'm sorry for the mistake at the depot! Indeed people will always complain about one thing or the other, it just shocked me to what extend it did on this line
They don't :)! Ticket inspectors perform spot checks sometimes on trams, but these are relatively infrequent, but drivers have no role in checking that everyone has paid
Most people are honest and the fines are so high for getting caught, that I reckon it happens once to everyone sometime between 15 and 30 years old and then you never forget it! :)

I disagree! I'm in England right now and there's a gorgeous sunset on the horizon, nowhere near as cloudy ;) I'm glad you enjoyed the video though!!😊
ooooooh I've found the Swiss equivalent of Don Coffey....(for those in the know) - Brilliant video !!

This was a new line to me, so I greatly appreciated the informative captions. Many thanks.
You're very welcome! I hope there was enough information for you to get a good sense of the entire line!! :) Best regards!
Great video mate ... like your onscreen notes and captions. Keep them up and love to see more ... thanks
Thanks a lot mate! It means a lot to hear that!! More is on its way, you best believe! :)
Thank you very much for your lovely coment!
I can look out my front window and see this weather, 16,000 km away.
Wowwww! Where are you then if you're that far away mate? Australia, like Brisbane or Sydney or Melbourne?
NZ 😁
What I liked is that I got an answer tp a question i've had for quite a while.
which was? :)
Nice video man i like very much the trams there.
Thanks mate!

Die Fahrt ist auch bei Regen interessant. Danke für's Mitnehmen m🙂🍀
Immer gerne!
