- Recently we had a look at the BLS line from Spiez to Zweisimmen ( • ★ 4K 🇨🇭 Spiez - Zweisi... ). This video is a continuation on the narrow gauge railway to Montreux.
Recently a new train was developed which allows travel between Montreux and Interlaken via Spiez. This is achieved using a regauging system in Zweisimmen, in order to allow the specially developed coaches to travel on the normal gauge rails. The train we're travelling with today is a conventional narrow gauge train. We will, however, be passing a couple of the new trains on our journey.
It's a popular train for tourists as we pass through the scenic Bernese alps and in Vaud and also a portion on Fribourg, on our way down to Montreux on the lake of Geneva.

I swear Switzerland isn't real. There's absolutely no way such a gorgeous fantasy setting actually exists on our planet. This has to be like, a super-advanced simulation we're witnessing sent from the future or like, the camera-man is trolling us and he actually goes through a portal every time to another planet in like the Andromeda galaxy or something. How do people live in that country and not spend the _entire time_ just standing and staring at the scenery in awe???
I remember feeling this way too.. the crazy thing is, for many people here it's just normal.. and some people move to other parts of the world!

Hooray!! I've always wanted to see a "full trip" on this line, as opposed to some of the truncated versions on other channels. Absolutely gorgeous, and you capture it so well. Thank you SO MUCH for this video, which goes "the other way" from the 1991 Swiss Railway Journeys version.

No doubt there will be bigger price tag for each carriage, but the versatility of those will outweigh the cost quicker.

Thank you for this very beautiful ride from Zweisimmen to Montreux. There were video's of this ride, but they were in 3 parts. This is much better: the whole ride in one video. So the new trains are equipped with gauge-changing wheels? Interesting. They are finally there.

L'arrivée au-dessus du Lac Léman est majestueuse. Les paysages suisses, magnifiques. Je ne suis pas spécialiste, mais on voit que les équipements ferroviaires, notamment la signalisation, sont très modernes, ce qui montre l'effort du gouvernement Suisse pour promouvoir ces lignes secondaires, à l'inverse de ce qui est fait ici, en France. Et le résultat est là, à voir la fréquentation dans les petites gares traversées. Vidéo à envoyer à la SNCF, RFF et même plus haut.

I’d love to see this in winter one year, if at all possible.
So happy to see this video and at the same time, so sad by the news I've just heard. A Brazilian guy went to Zurich to do business and he disappeared, people say it was a trap. Hope the Switzerland police help to solve it and this guy can come back to Brazil safe and well.

I lived in that area in the late '50s. The MOB has vastly improved the rail system infrastructure since then.
