First time watching this demonstration of the F-35A, and yes, a remarkable show of this aircraft's capabilities. I am a retired Air Force veteran who spent my entire career as an F-16 Crew Chief. I also spent six years as an FTD instructor who taught safety in every hour of instruction. As I watched the ground crew conduct the recovery I watched in disbelief. Crew Chief Assistance placed himself in a hazardous situation when he approached the main landing gear tire to place the grounding chocks. In all my years recovering aircraft, you were constantly instructed to follow all safety protocols, and this airman disregarded one major safety violation. Upon landing, the brakes produce tremendous heat and can cause the tire to explode. Because of this, the person installing the chocks is taught to approach the tire from either the front or rear of the tire. There is a 45-degree cone shape that if the tire explodes, the rim and brake metals will travel outward on both sides in the cone shape; thus, the reason to approach the tire from front or rear to place the chocks. Yes, an End of Runway crew safes the aircraft before arriving at the recovery location, but as the pilot taxis back, they are using the brakes to control the speed and can produce enough heat to explode the tire assembly. So when I watched the second member stand and inspect the tire assembly within the 45-degree shape (side of the tire), it shocked me that this is a standard procedure for the demonstration team. I have seen tires on aircraft explode 30 minutes after the aircraft was recovered, and believe me when I say it was a scary situation. I have also seen pictures of a deceased airman after being killed by an exploding tire assembly. I hope someone under the supervision of that demonstration team changes this bad practice before someone is injured or killed.
This is a fabulous video, of a fabulous young woman who is SO in command of her aircraft, and making it do things you wouldn't think possible.... Thank you! 😊 I'm fortunate though in that I work on-base at RAF Lakenheath, UK, (in the BX), and frequently see our pilots doing stunning manoeuvres in both F35's and F15E's almost on a daily basis..... when I see some of the moves they make on take-off, and on landing/false landings - turns and back-flips that you wouldn't think possible - you can't fail to realise that these men and women that fly these things are just incredible people, and yet, as the lady said in the video... "just lot's of practice" is all any would say!! 👏 But I didn't know they had a handbrake in the F35's....never seen an aircraft drift quite like an F35....!!! 😆 Thanks to all in our military; UK, Europe, US, for your service.....

I am gratified to see amazing skill displayed by her excellent piloting ability to fly world's most advanced all around fighter jet, F-35A. Yes, it is very loud and announcer was saying it is capable to put up 9G force. This is a truly amazing plane. No wonder many of them are already sold to many foreign nations, including Japan and will be a great fighter for many years for the preservation of freedom despite others may criticize. F-35s aren’t going to preserve our freedom against its biggest threat- the US government. We just keep going further and further left, and leftists despise freedom. The national press is totally partisan, and virtually incapable of exposing any wrongdoing that might harm the Democrats and help the Republicans. Not that the Republicans are good, they’re pathetic. God bless you for your traditional take on America and it’s role in the world, just don’t let your patriotic idealism get taken advantage of by politicians who are overseeing the tearing down of our founders, dismantling of our constitutional system and who (I predict) will soon relegate our flag to the dumpster of history.
