      It was terrible that the molds and jigs were destroyed at the end of the program, but we had to make sure they would not get into the hands of our enemies in Asia and Europe. Clinton was right to order them destroyed. It's bad enough bad contractor OpSec ended up letting the Chinese make a near copy of the front half of the F-22, for their stealth jet. The frontal aspect is nearly identical. The back half looks like the failed Russian copy of the YF-23.

    Saw this same demo this last summer near my house. Had a picnic on my lawn, while watching the Raptor fly like a spacecraft, with no regard for gravity. The falling leaf maneuver is jaw dropping in person. The way that gold tinted canopy glints in the sunshine, reminded me of Master Chief from Halo. Just pure perfection.

    • @egroegartfart
      @egroegartfart Год назад +1

      That is so awesome you got to watch right from your yard. I'm not sure if this is the maneuver you're talking about. But at one point the pilot flies straight up until the next stops then slowly drops down. When they do this does the engine or engines actually stall or shut off? Sorry about my ignorance. I don't know a ton about jets but I'm fascinated by them. I think it is amazing what they can do.

    • @debbiestimac5175
      @debbiestimac5175 Год назад

      @@egroegartfart The engines are still set at full power (military thrust, not afterburner) but the nozzles are being deployed downward directing their thrust like vertical take off jets do, just not to the same extent. What is also happening is that the huge flaperons, which in the WWII days were called horizontal stabilizers and elevators, are allowing the Raptor to ski down the vertical axis, like a mountain adventure skier or surfer on a big wave. When you watch those two big flaperons move when they do systems checks on the ground, you can see how truly massive they are compared to jets prior, even F-15 and F-16 ones are tiny in comparison. Two huge surfboards, ready to slip and slide the F-22 wherever the pilot needs to be to get nose on first and first kill. It is one slippery jet at the merge! Thanks for the question and the chat! Have a great week!

      @@debbiestimac5175 that is so interesting and cool Debbie. So it is actually a maneuver they could use in a dog fight? I thought it was just like something they do at air shows. So the engine doesn't actually shut off or stall? Thank you Debbie. I appreciate your answer.

    I swear this has to be the most beautiful fighter jet ever made, the way it looks and maneuvers is just amazing. Too bad we'll never get to see the full capabilites of it, the only one's who do are the pilots and the people in the air force. The pilots are not allowed to fly the aircraft in public or in training with our allies at the same way they would fly in real combat, it's illegal. It also illegal for the US to sell the F-22 to anyone else. They also add stuff to male it less stealthy than it really is, we don't want to give away all the details and true power of it.
    The true specs are also classified, it can do a lot more then they say it can. The US is the only country that can own and operate it. It truly is an extremely impressive machine and an amazing piece of technology.
    I've always loved the F-22 and the more I find out about it, the more I love it. Great video, awesome to see the startup procedure, that salute he gave was epic, if I had one wish it would be to own one of these magnificent planes, or even get to fly one. Did that aircraft have any RAM on it? It doesn't look like it does. Maybe for demonstration aircraft they remove it so they don't have to maintain it.

    30+ years old design, still looks good. Oldie but goodie. The Sukhoi Su-57 is more advanced, but when the F-22 was designed back in 1991 it was awesome. The only better aircraft at that time was the YF-23 Black Widow which was never produced.

    Not a single one of you commented how this F-22 ground crew walk and gesture like robot mimes? I’m guessing they do this for fun, for a good show?

    If the allies or the axis powers had 12
    Of these it might or probably would have changed the fate of the war. Amazing aircraft!

    So before they take off, it takes several minute? Isn't that too long, what if it's going to intercept .just asking curiously.

    What’s crazy is F 22 raptor pilots are not allowed to push the plane to its limits whatsoever as to not let the enemy know our capabilities but it still does that shit?
