Will this work if the error message only happens when using the USB in a dock (it works fine if the usb is directly in laptop)? If yes, does the USB need to be in the dock when making the changes to the registry?
How do I get this addition to save? It works once and then dissapears.

For anyone that has (recently) updated their Bios (like myself) just check your computer manufacture's site to see if there's a new bios update. I just updated my bios today and it fixed the USB device port reset failed error that I was getting.
Update: The bios fix didn't work, the port reset error message came back. The USB port might be damage or defective.

Need some help or advise, I wanted to use a USB for my car mp3 player. I formatted it under exFAT and files in mp3 however it was giving an error. So I googled and discovered it is probably due to the partition type, so I changed it from GPT to MBR. Now my PC can detect the usb but cannot access it, it cannot even format...
My roommate got the touch when it comes to electronics and literally he jsut touch it and it work again but if you can't find someone who got the touch naturally maybe get a priest or a high power wiccan and some crystals and sit outside for a while. Ask a priest to bless it I guess and give them Kraft dinner for their time.

@@Its_The_Main_Man After several attempts of trying to fix the issue I’ve determined that I have a bad WiFi\Bluetooth card, unfortunately it’s soldered and I can’t easily replace it. As a work around solution I’m using a USB WiFi\Bluetooth adapter and it does an OK job but not as good as highspeed WiFi\Bluetooth card.
My laptop screen is blank now after following your steps!! Please advise how to bring it back. Its running Win 11 64 bit.
This solution unfortunately worked for 8 days before my Bluetooth started acting up again and randomly disappearing and 'unknown usb' started reappearing...

This video may well be THE solution for many except for one fatal flaw...
at 2:51 the big yellow banner directs us to UNPLUG, RESTART, PLUG-IN BACK USB DEVICE (which, of course, should be Plug Back In)
but the problem is that the error is an UNKNOWN USB Device with a failed Device Descriptor. In other words, we're not told which device is having the problem.
So..... how would we know which USB device to unplug, reboot, and plug back in ?????
Как всегда какой-то чел с акцентом зарешал. Флешка не исправилась после добавления параметра, но зато появилась в Disk Manager (только Партишены, не сверху в списке). Удаление партишенов + добавление нерапределенного места в новый партишен зарешало

and reconnecting the same device the same error came back

Did not work, but it seems we pushed the usb port too far inside the laptop and it got damaged because of it. Will need to replace the i/o board.
we replaced the i/o board and it works again. so it was a hardware defect.

Thanks for the video, but that did not solve my issue - On my case I got that error after uninstalling GPU in device manager. My Bluetooth icon went missing and "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)" appeared on my device manager list.. Here's what solved my issue:
Shut my computer down "held down the power button for 5 secs or until it shuts down", Flipped the power supply switch off. Flipped the power supply switch ON after 10 secs. Powered it back on and Bluetooth is back along with "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)" message gone as well.
