Windows update strikes again. I swear, every time Windows updates my system, something stops working. My little Fender guitar amp was recognized by my PC just fine until the latest Windows update that I didn't ask for or want. Now, no matter what I try, I cannot get my PC to recognize the device again. I hate you, Microsoft. I really do.

Win 11 update, before I had both wi-fi and blue tooth, after update the were both gone with the error in device manager. I've tried everything, when I tried to reinstall the ASUS wi-fi driver it did nothing, wouldn't start or give any indication I had clicked on install. Thanks Microsoft, what a great update that was.

Hey man I am having the same issue, can you please tell me if you were able to solve it?

Thanks for this. In my case it's a 3.5" SD card etc hub connected to the motherboard directly. All I did was move it to a different USB input. Cheers.

Thanks for the video, but that did not solve my issue - On my case I got that error after uninstalling GPU in device manager. My Bluetooth icon went missing and "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)" appeared on my device manager list.. Here's what solved my issue:
Shut my computer down "held down the power button for 5 secs or until it shuts down", Flipped the power supply switch off. Flipped the power supply switch ON after 10 secs. Powered it back on and Bluetooth is back along with "unknown usb device (device descriptor request failed)" message gone as well.

Odd, nothing worked for me, from this video. My WD 4TB refuses to be USB recognized. I did copy my music library and station imaging onto it, then it stopped working. Troubleshooting only wanted me to search Windows 10 updates. By the way, Other smaller drives worked on the USB 3.0 slots.

My PNY mirco sd card works with other devices and my SanDisk usb stick works btw. I believe it doesn't like the adapters I used. I used otg and PNY adapters, none of the two worked. I even used every usable port, uninstall the device and replugged it in and restarted my pc. Also, I refuse to install those apps that some videos show for the error. (Code 43 and 45 is the error. Also, 45 says that despite the fact it is in)
Will I have to bring it to a shop that deals with these issues? I hope not cuz then I'll probably have to move stuff due to privacy reasons and plus I am lazy lol
Edit: The knob was in the middle

It didn't help at all. It about even connecting something with USB. I tried to reconnected my controller via bluetooth, the computer glitched. I restarted and tried to recconect again. Before, I deleted every pair device where it says "controller". So, I searched for new devices to connect controller from the start and for my surprise option "wireless controller" already was there, even before I switch on my controller. Of course I switch on controller and tried to connect, after that the usb unknown device error occurs. Now every time I disable bluetooth and enable again the system finds usb unknown device and bring "wireless controller" device back into option - even when you specifically deleted it before and didn't try to connect it. That's some kind a joke, the windows keeps worse and worse.

none of these worked. Luckily it's just the usb ports on the front of my new case, maybe it's a cord i connected wrong when i built my pc.
edit: Turns out that was the exact thing I did wrong! Thanks!
