This is it! If you're going to swim a lot, this is the no. 1 way to avoid shoulder problems. I though I had good rotation but now my shoulders are shot and I miss swimming so much.
Watch the underwater cam on Olympic 50m finals. They’re pretty flat. Especially Cielo the WR holder. But def some top 100 guys (but not all) have this technique
His wrong rotation swimming is still so much better than what I can do... 😢 I watch all these videos then get in the pool and am still extremely slow. It's hard to put into practice when your muscle memory from years of bad technique is messing you up... still love swimming though.
Just keep in mind that he's wearing fins. So most of his propulsion is from the legs. That's what gave the impression of such a smooth gliding through the water with very relaxed arm rotation.
This is really helpful- focusing on the full rotation engages more of the pec and lat muscles in the pull saving undue stress on the shoulder muscles- you can tweak it based on sprinting vs. long distance swimming.
Honestly i rly don't like that "Correct rotation". Your recovery hand is basically straight. Its good for sprinting but anything else i cant imagine anyone swimming longer distances with straight hand recovery. It would be nice to see some pro/coach comment on that but it look rly awkward for me.
@@clavilenyo rotation is not only for shoulder improvements is for a best kick from hips to toe, like a wip , but any swimmer in this channels, does it to show up , like the girls showing bum.. or b00bs, same this things, but swimming is even more technical than only a rotation jeje,, its a personal point of view
yes hi elbow, is a better catch drill and less effortles than this, even sub acuatic mode this way doesnt wotk properly so well, internet is full of weirds
Its a bit misleading I think.. do you mean the shoulder should lead the rotation... isn't that for sprinters only? I am just 2 year into freestyle and 34 year old masters swimmer trying to get better at sprinting....my coach told me to focus on my hip rotation and forget the shoulder driven style for now..he said expert sprinters (like you) already rotate their hips very well..so when they say/show their shoulder driven..it can feel misleading to newbies. His tip was t t to first learn to rotate on the hips properly and use the hip driven style..then do the shoulder driven stuff. I think its practical and I got good results with learning to rotate the hips first..if I did directly as you do, I would injure my lower back
This has less to do with shoulder vs hip-driven rotation. He's rotating from the shoulder only in both. In the correct rotation, his shoulders stay in the same plane
the drill tourniquete , screw, mean like you said, must be a natural rotation no only shoulders work and the only no movement piece its head, showld be straight to inline upper body and keep it the most consistent over water with a fluent breathing its what let ore floate effectively
Ehmm, sorry....I like your videos a lot! But i don't see very much the difference in pool demonstration except different arm recovery. What about the hips? I ve been told, to rotate body in waist area mainly, so the hips don't follow the upper body completely.
I feel my technique is not efficient and off. I dont know whats wrong. But once I asked my friend to record me swimming, I can see the problem. It was exactly as this video tell to avoid! Cannot wait to go back to pool to fix my rotation
This must be why ppl tell me 'wow you're fast' Proper hip driven rotation contains so much more power. TY for great video!
The music is perfect for a tired old cowboy riding away to sunset wounded and tired, maybe for the last time, but still victorious.
Yeah! I actually pictured it perfectly
Much like my receding hairline
🎉❤
I imagined it. Now I can't watch the video without laughing.

I hope you feel better ❤️🩹 soon.
That's quite a bit of thorax rotation. Should this be applied for sprint only? Feels like it could be a "sinking" factor for distance swimming?
exactly same i thought, @markus merheler , has a improved fast technique , must take a look

record yourself swimming that’s what helped me the most

@@billybob6604how do you hold the phone while you are swimming?
@@Jerryfallwell have a friend record you while you’re swimming
get a phone protector that lets you record underwater
Restart your memory into the correct technique, even if it feels almost like starting to learn to swim all over again. Worth it.😊

Wow I’ve been swimming for 3 years competitively and never even did this before. Thank you ima start doing this from now on!!!
The fact is it looks very easy ... but in the pool 😂😂😂 it takes months of hard work to correct it
I better get to work.
Cze ur noob
I approve this message. From one competitive swimmer to another
His arm in the air is completely wrong. From a former competitive swimmer.
Beautifully done!😊
its the music for me
herb alpert babyyyy
Love all your videos, especially this one. My speed improved when I followed this fuller rotation.
Big difference in your recovery as well, almost with straight arms. Definitely looks more natural and easy on the shoulders...
I love these videos. They are so informative and i learn lot from them.
Look at his head and hips. Beautiful entry plus high hips will help with endurance
thx, been swimming long time nd coaching but sometimes I just make the simplest mistakes
Breathing correctly, vitally important.
After a week, I master the dry land drill...for me it is enough...😂😂😂
Great advice and drill but also is fair to say that the rotation it's gonna be helped a lot if you have a great kick like yours
Thankyou! Could you show the drill in more detail/ longer clip?
Also stress any differences techniques for long distance and sprints.
It's mesmerizing to watch him swim. 😊
2nd one actually over rotating reulting in scissor kick which is inefficient
I never knew this😮 Thx for teaching!
At first i thought hes extremely fast... then I saw the flippers 😵💫
Drowned while swimming across the Gulf of Labrador: he was canonized...
Always use your lats using shoulder will sooner or later dislocate it
Stefano, what's on your right palm in the last part? Paddle or finger paddle?
What a body 💯
Muy guapo el profe me inscribo diario
come for swimming tips, stay for herb alpert
So smooth 😳
With flippers
Se desliza en el agua con gran profesionalismo. Lo adoro. ❤❤❤
المقطع يؤكد على أهمية دوران محور الجسم وعدم الاعتماد على الكتف فحسب
This correct tweak is harder than it looks.
Ну как же красиво!❤

Whatever recovery the important thing is that he rotates the full upper body not only the shoulders.
He is a sprinter, i assume it is only applicable for doing so
this isn't a video about recovery, he's just demonstrating rotation
not a pro, but I think rotating like almost 90degrees its impossible to get catch.

In simple words .. the shoulder must be diagonally connected?
Thank you so much 👍👍👍
I want to run to the swimming pool with your video. 😊😊😊
Always 90 degrees?? Rotstion. Thanks
It's good for RUclips but there's a reason why no one swims like that
and that reason is?
Straight arms might work for sprint but it's totally inefficient for long distance
@jimbeam4736 it requires flippers
Si yo tuviera un couch así aprendo todooo 😂😂😂😂😂❤❤❤
Why the completely different arm recovery?
Bro thanks you help me a lot
How come he is not really lifting his elbow up and having arm slightly bent, but it's still working?
Создал же Бог такое тело!
Full disclosure I'm new to swimming. Shouldn't you be bending at the elbow during arm movement?
yes hi elbow, is a better catch drill and less effortles than this, even sub acuatic mode this way doesnt wotk properly so well, internet is full of weirds
@@rothgonch1174 ok thanks
이게 진짜다
those magic 5s tho
just rotate from waist to shoulder?
He rotates the full upper body not only the shoulders.
Im kinda mad. That's how i was taught to swim.
awesome thank you😊

Yeah my 14 years of swimming to include college still tell me I'm not swimming straight armed. My gen we had the offsided lop.
Some peoples said rotation not over 45 degre, so more you look bideo, less you know what to do
Nonsense. The first ist the right way to swim.

good fins
Can you show what this looks like done in a sprint?
Як гарно
His body is perfect and almost symmetrical, not like the weird tiny legs and huge shoulders the rest of the swimmers have.
thnx
Thanks for the tip
thank you man
