Businesses require employees who can be at work and perform their job duties. Who is supposed to perform the ill employee's job duties while they are off for extended periods?
That breaks my heart that a company would do that but not surprised. It’s nice to see the big companies held accountable. Thank you lord, we all know this is your work of karma.
being let go for having Cancer is well out of order. but did we need to get his whole life story for 7 minutes. this programme is meant to be about the recovery of the debt owed, instead of listening to someone's sob story like on the X Factor.
Company made me homeless and broke for seventeen months before they were finally forced to give me the long term disability I was entitled to. They never want to do what is right. They always have to be forced to do the right thing.
In so many episodes of this show there is a mister ali who runs a used car or motorcycle shop. They are always the most difficult to deal with and never keep their word. In the end the sheriff gets the cash and it is always way more than if they had just paid right away.
They don't "work" for the high courts as many people think, they're baliffs who carry out high court writs and are employed as a 3rd party collection agency. These are the same people who kick you out your house if you get in arrears with rent or mortgage, who come round to take your goods if you fall behind with council tax and so on. Acting under a high court writ gives them different powers to a baliff but they're still debt collectors/baliffs and are as happy kicking families out their homes as they are collecting tribunal money. They just show you the nice things they do to make their industry look less shady.

He got paid for a whole year while not being at work, fair enough he was ill but to try come back under his own terms trying to change his role isn't fair, then to sue them and get 50k is taking the piss in my opinion
Bare in mind that he was jobless for so long which impacted him alot in his finance and was heavily discriminated with his illness. I'm glad he won the case.
If its health related as in this case, what they did was illegal and in breach of the equalities act. By law an employer has to make reasonable adjustments for return to work such as enabling home working, reduced hours, job share, flexible working schedule etc - what ever is reasonable and agreeable for both parties.
Not if you are long term sick because of it, by the sounds of it he was more than willing to come back to work but they got rid of him which is illegal
He wanted to come back but under his own terms and changing the role he used to do.. after being paid for a whole year of being ill and not at work.. to then sue them is taking the absolute piss @Mikeb1001
He was returning to work and if its health related as in this case, what they did was illegal and in breach of the equalities act. @teainortakoy and if it's not reasonable the employer can say no witch they did, this guy took the piss out of his employers by suing them after getting paid for a whole year of not working, it isn't right he was able to sue them for that much money it's greed, he did the victim role quire well tho, you can tell by the phonecall when he's told they've got the money that it was all about the cash all along, greedy man who capitalised on his illness ( witch I'm very glad he beat ) but I hope nobody ever employs him again he's a leach
Like what would bailifs do, if you put yourself on ''electoral roll'' on someones adress where you dont live , and then live at friends with nothing on your name at all, how would they chase that. And even better if you keep car at value below 1200 ( as by law that low priced car cant be taken away if you need it to go to work etc ). keep bank accounts clean, cash at friends simple as, bailifs can only chase you for 12 months, then extend it for another 12 , after that you free to go. Also any defaults / ccjs are cleared after 6 years from creditreport and cant be chased no more by law.
@@WestermanT. Sometimes you do what you have to do if you earning by cash on hand job better than 40h a week elsewhere and govt takes advantage of you taxing your pay, taxing your food, taxing your bills, taxes on taxes.
I love this show.
I feel so bad for the guy who had cancer. You don't fire a good employee because of an illness. SO wrong!
Unlawful dismissal, i think its called tbh , it is an absolute disgrace..his ex employer should be ashamed 9f them selfs ..
Indeed, should he have had illness insurance?
@@johnmc3862 never hard of it before

@@williamegler8771then hire a temp. Firing an employee for an illness is super illegal and highly immoral
Thank God for the Sheriffs of Great Britain and the courts, I wish we had the same system here in the USA...
eh, America wouldn't put up with legalized shakedowns, they're armed.
NCH - What bastards!
They regretted that decision! 😅😅😅
That's a understatement 😢
Thanks for uploading! I love this.

Wasn’t expecting the boys on the bikes 😂😂😂
Paul I know what you went through had a company chuck me to the curb but made them pay

They are amazing ❤
Newmark is disgraceful. Hope VIPs watch this!!!!!😅
Sounds like Uno had a case if they'd bothered to defend it.
Classic ignoring things until it’s too late. Bit like the idiots that ignore private parking tickets
They are stupid in the bike shop saying registration document is proof of ownership of course it’s not.

Yes but ultimately it’s whatever the courts decide. If you can sue go for it, esp if you cancer.
