It's sad that he has trouble standing up at times, but I don't think it's that big of a problem.

I had the European version of this as a kid. It was packaged as "Sure Shot" and the chest stickers didn't say Optimus Prime on them (which in my opinion looked better) the rest of the toy (to my knowledge) was identical to this one.
Yeah I read about that on the tfwiki, they did the same with hero megatron and called him "archforce". Nobody knows the real reason but its speculated that hasbro eu just didn't want as many megatron and optimus prime toys in the g2 line compared to the north american one. They even edited the artwork and bios of the toy to omit any mention of prime or megatron.

I stand him with one leg bent back at the knee (like he’s running), on my Optimus shelf. He’s pretty stable in that pose. This toy was pretty ahead of it’s time for what was to come in Prime figures.

I had the two pack that came with Megatron. it was around 20 to 25 bucks.

I got this guy! I bought him for a couple bucks a flea market, so he's incomplete. But he's still really cool. (Plus, he's the same age as me. He came out in '93.)

Try to get the missiles for him, they're a fun, cool accessory to have!

I bought one off yahoo auctions back in 2000 when we still had yahoo auctions. My copy still had the Kay Bee price tag. It was 19.99 but marked down to 7.99. I didn't pay that unfortunately.
TVOR Yeah, I missed out on him initially too and ended up paying more for him. I did get the Scourge repaint at KB back when they still existed and I think he was $20 too.

My big problem, aside from the lack of a heel spur, is how the hose is connected. It seems like if the hose was connected to a different side of the billow it would be a much better fit. For example, in robot mode it comes out of his left side, then has to cross over to the right arm. It's not good for the hose.

got mine back in 94, & megatron. Then later on I got 2 more to keep sealed. KB toys had them on sale for $7.99 sale price. Sadly since then I barely played with it & the rocket tips on both Has deteriorated.

I have the Scourge version of this guy. The rubber cord connecting the launcher to the cannon is broken though. It rotted :/
The Scourge version was my first experience with this mold. I remember finding him brand new at KB Toys back in the day!

i almost bought this prime he sold for about $20 in 93, but i just couldn't forgive the color scheme and he just looked too blocky for me. the funny thing is I was in the Air Force when he was on the market and that's when i did most of my transformer and gi joe buying. i wasand still am a bigger gi joe fan. that's why i served .
As paratroopers we worked hand in hand with the Air Force. I've jumped out of many of your planes LOL

G2 was sooooo crazy. I grew up in the 80's with G1.
When the 90's came... It got way more colorful. Some you got wet to reveal their allegiance. Lol!!!
Tho the cartoon was basically the same. We never saw the tank Megatron in the cartoon for some reason. I think they just took the old cartoons and reworked them somewhat.
Phillis Smith We didn't see that tank Megatron in any cartoons in the US but he was in the Japanese Beast Wars. They took a lot of those toys and branded them as G2 here.

Compared to G1 Optimus Prime, he looks like a cheap Chinese knock off. No die cast metal. No rubber tyres. Gimmick laden.

I was a transportation SGT (and overseas truck driving instructor) and a Paratrooper in the 82nd AIRBORNE, and a weapons SGT for a tank unit in Korea, among other things. 8 years in.

Josh Montemayor that's too bad about the heel thing. He's really cool. I had this figure back in the day. I think he deserves a re-release with good heel spurs as a remaster. The name on the windows seems egotistical xD. Egotistical transformers. He is good for the time otherwise.

I have sureshot which is the European version where it doesn't read optimus prime and he is whole own character for Hasbro Europe didn't want to many optimus on the shelves. Else is it the same figure.
