I love how the lyrics are such vague bullshit that even they "work" together
Girl, truck, music on the radio, summer night, sex
Yep. Pretty awkward.
I LOVE MY COUNTRY AND I LOVE MY COUNTRY
this was no. 1 on country billboard in 2019
@@comicconcarne Haha:)
Modern country is just people listing things. Chicks and beer, huntin' deer, good dogs, choppin' logs, plaid shirts, diggin' dirt, pick up truck, Donald Duck
There was a time when country music was raw, edgy and innovative, those times ended in the mid 70's and much in the way of mainstream country music has descended into self pardoy. This mashup is a perfect illustration of the state of things.
I'm just glad there are artists on the periphery of the genre still making real music.
Country/Pop fusion? o_O
Oh, come on... It's not just country.
ruclips.net/video/oOlDewpCfZQ/видео.html
There is still a hell of a lot of good country out there, but almost all is indie stuff. Bloodshot records is a good first stop for gnarlier less extruded music.
Benjamin Baugh Most of the interesting stuff is more in bluegrass territory, bluegrass has never stopped being fun.
Scott Manley completely agree
It sounds like a montage of guys trying to woo potential lovers, and then there's just one guy who didn't get the memo occasionally interrupting about how much fun he's having driving a truck.
He’s wooing his truck lol
@@rugbyguitargod He's wooing while hooning around in his truck
Truck guy sounds like a lot of fun.
When the mashup of a bunch of country songs ends up having more creative energy in it than the hit singles they mashup used...
Awesome. Jesus, the amount of work...
What the hell? Has nobody here recognized you yet?
EDIT - This was when the video still hadn't gone viral. (1/8/15)
Hey there, bby ;)
You got a music video sins idea brewing from this?
Brandon Wise who fucking cares about a celebrity comment? Just another mind.
good to see a popular youtube uses le reddit new website!!!
If I'd heard this on the radio, not knowing about the mix, I'd have thought it was a single genuine song. Brilliant.
Agreed!
Except for the parts where Florida Georgia line sound like they’re representing the lollipop guild...
Is it not?
Yep country music sounds the same
“Wow... did all of Nashville just decide to team up for this one single?” XD
If country performers started suing for copyright infringement like the other genres, they would be in court for centuries.
Tennessee wouldn't let that happen. They own all of it.
I actually find this a very efficient way to listen to music
Six songs in one, but an unfortunate genre.
As someone who works at a BBQ restaurant in the south, and hears these songs all day everyday. This was just perfect and confirmed my suspicions that it didn't matter what song was on, it was probably the same as the last one. Thank you Sir Mixalot.
Maybe slip a Garth Brooks CD under the table.
Not a bad idea. They'd never know anything changed.
You should slip an MP3 file of the video into the restaurant's mix.
Man what a ride.. Thank you to everyone who helped turn what started out as a fun little project into a video that I just witnessed go from 420 views and 3 Likes last night to over 1 Million views and 12K Likes tonight- not to mention the almost out of body experience of seeing it at #1 on Reddit earlier today! I'm speechless. Thank you.
You deserve it dude. I can't stop pressing replay, your mashup's catchier than the individual songs themselves!
Earned it. This is killer work
420 views blaze it
Well Gregory, you'll either get a publishing deal or be black listed by the good ol' boys on music row- time will tell.
Don't let this be the end. You're onto something big here and there's plenty more ammo out there. Would love to see a top #40 mashup or some from other genres. Please give us more!
This is why I'm not worried about AI taking over the song-writing process. The music industry went formulaic long before AI was a real option.
And thus the ultimate stadium country song was born.

Thank goodness everything is the same. Wouldn't want music to be different and unpredictable.
Too aggressive! Seems like 1984! Please continue.
Exactly! I always hated that "nice, i didn't hear this before" feeling!
Change is scary! I don’t want to hear experimentation or innovation. I hate feeling interested or intrigued.
It’s country lol what do you expect?
My favourite part was when like 3 of the songs were singing whooaaa at the same cadence at the same time LOL
I'm more impressed at how well the lyrics go together. It's almost like they all say the same thing
+Desiree Lea Hofer it's because they're all cliche, uninspired crap written by accountants using marketing research and focus group sessions. It's all fake.
I kinda want to see all 6 of these guys to get together and sing this live.
Coops4tw that would show the critics who think they all the songs are the same...if you can’t beat them, join them 😂
Cole Swindell: Hey guys, can I copy your homework?
Florida Georgia Line: Sure.
Luke Bryan: Just change it a little.
Blake Shelton: So it isn't obvious.
Now I'm imagining FGL, Luke and Blake all finishing each other's sentences like the Rice Krispies elves.
Some people think modern country music is really just one song with different lyrics. They're wrong, the lyrics are the same too.

I love that there are country fans who understand the concept, and still comment that this would be a good country song without a sense of irony
I'm sure you could play this at some gas station or wherever and nobody would notice a damn thing
The employees would notice. I'd give them 3 days until they're on suicide watch.

Sir Mashalot Its a fanstastic mashup, it'll get more. It deserves it. Ever since I found it I've had it in my favorites playlist and have listened to it multiple times, occasionally singing it in my head. And I don't even listen to country.

@@CountryMetal01 maybe, but i doubt it. the music business is a business, and the deciders go with what sells, not with what's good artistically. if the sound of farts sold, that's what they'd sell.
"Bro country" is just Nickelback with banjos.
Edit: now, after Todd in the Shadows' episode on Nickelback I understood why it sounds like that - it's because Nickelback's long-time producer have become producer for Florida-Georgia Line.
Actually made me laugh, well said.
Dood!!
Nickelback is far better than any of this MAGA tripe bullshit. At least earlier Nickelback is/was.
@@the406seadonkey6 People could try to to rip them off to get listened to, and the only genre of fans it would work on, would be country. Leader of men is one of the best songs ever written, in my opinion, and they actually wrote it. "Rock fans" turn on bands when they become huge, no matter how deserving they are. Country fans eat up sh!t that blatantly panders to them, and is usually written by some douchebag in a cubicle, pulling cliches out of a hat and fitting them into a song.
Most bro country doesnt even have banjos
I like the song about the guy who drives his pickup truck on a dirt road to pick up a girl in tight jeans and take her to the river to drink beer and watch the sun go down.
That's the best one.
I love that song
I prefer the one that has all of that and the 4th of July. Adds an extra kick.

So...when is the next mashup, Gregory?
That was brilliant... and now I'm a subscriber. :)
I'm sensing a theme here.. Pickup trucks. Girls, unrequited love.,small towns, ohoohooh, Saying the word "country", full moons, water, jeans, driving, especially down highways and/or country roads. That is such a faulty depicition of what country songwriting is. The funniest part was when the guitar solos from two of the "different" songs merged and sounded like one guitar solo xD
Because country is shit.
Don't forget "July" and any form of the verb "roll".
@@sirtacomaster5978 “Because mainstream pop country is shit” there I fixed it for you

Now please go listen to REAL country artists, REAL music from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's (I mean artists like Georges Jones, Merle Haggard, Hank Williams, Loretta Lynn, Garth Brooks, Buck Owens, Dolly Parton...)
Songwriting back then was an actual and respected talent, an art that you had to learn from the best in the business. It was all about conveying every possible emotion, it just made you laugh, cry, scream and dance in less than 4 minutes...
You dont have to like country music... but at least have some respect for the craft of songwriting.

@@julieboudreau516 My favorite country music theory is that 9/11 killed the genre with political correctness and now you can only say the words OP mentioned
What happens when you play a country album backwards? The truck comes back, the dog comes back, the wife comes back and the beer comes back
this sounds more original than all six songs lmao
It honestly is. This arrangement took way more creativity than any of the songs themselves.
It's genuinely scary how similar they sound
right, even stranger that i still like it...uhhh
We are degenerating.
Funny story: I have two country stations on my radio, one playing new country, one playing stuff from earlier in the 2000s. At one point, BOTH of these stations were playing a song with this format. You could switch between the two and still get a coherent message.
I probably come listen to this once a year. Checking in from October 2021. Still great

All the artists should get together and perform this live. it would be the most epic country thunder clash of all times
It’s amazing how quickly you forget you’re listening to 6 different songs
Damn, I'm not American, yet here I am eagerly awaiting the 4th of July in my flatbed, jacked up truck, drinking some homemade wine, checking my radio for that country sound, with my shades on, rollin' with the music jacked. What is happening to me?
Diabtetes
I feel like going fishing, driving a big ass truck and drinking a bottle of Jack Daniels (in no particular order) after listening to this country guacamole.
Don't ever call this bullshit "country"
In my head, I pretend that 6 different assholes are trying to serenade the same girl at the same time, and a street fight breaks out at the end.
Okay, I pictured that, too, once you mentioned it, and I can't listen to this the same way! XD AWESOME!
When originality dies with thunderous applause
My wife liked these songs when they were popular. One day on a road trip I told her we'd listen to six of her songs, then six of mine. I played this... she was not happy.
That's the kind of shit I'd pull on my wife. I salute you! lol
Goals honestly lmao
The way the different songs even had the same rhymes sometimes. Just... wow.
I listened to a country music station a couple days ago.
The blueprint is still there, spot on
It’s fucking mind numbing after a while lmao
This was in 2014 and all music on the radio has become even more homogeneous. In 20 years anyone that can say two words in rhythm will be awarded a grammy.
When your video is so good it is used in a college course
Cold beer, pickups, hunting, fishing, and country girls in blue jeans. Basic formula for a hit country song
Women fall for this shit too.
This is the exact formula Nickleback follows.
And it IS a formula, right down to knowing literally which chords in a song make it better for a winter or summer release.
It's like ChatGPT wrote a country song...
Why are all the country fans here mad? Shouldn't this mashup be a bop for you guys?
Never.. this of Bro country. Not 80s country or 90s pop country. This is just what you call abusing the 1st 4th 5th and 6th cords in different orders. Big Oof
@@FartCity-WorldDomination ...my comment wasn't directed at fans of, say, James Taylor, Neil Young, and their inspirations. It's to the people who think singing with twangy accents and crying over Chevrolets is. country. I only referred to it as country so those twenty-somethings who somehow like it would recognize it since "it plays on the country radio station."
AJ Raine it’s basically pop with a southern accent.

Let's remember that near the end of his life Johnny Cash could not get his music on Country Radio. Country music today is just pop songs with cowboy hats.
Literally the only thing that gives it away is you can here a slide guitar in the background some songs and occasionally a rhythm guitar clip in, but you have to listen REAL close to notice.
They used the same drummer in recording and he did every song in one take back to back. legend has it he is still playing the same beat.
This mashup is pure genius. I heard it a couple years ago and was stunned by the concept and the execution. I just listened again and it still is amazing. Awesome job Sir.

Just wanted to respond to a few comments/questions I've seen:
1) As mentioned previosly, I decided not to monetize this video out of respect for the fact that I didn't write these songs. Any new ads popping up were most likely arranged for by the writers, etc of the original works used in this video
2) I had to first line up the tempo and key of each song before being able to work out the new lyric. It was the chord progression, song structure, and lyrical content that made it possible for the new lyric to flow once the tempo and key were made uniform
3) Aside from the tempo and key alignments, there were no effects or plugins used at all- and no speeding up or slowing down of certain sections. Sonically, the tracks are the mp3s just as they were recorded. What appears to be autotuning is actually minor artifacts created by stretching a song to fit a particular tempo
4) Lining up the songs as 6 overlapping tracks in Pro Tools took very little time, but creating the lyric took a couple of weeks- probably had dozens of lyric combinations before I settled on the one in the video. The graphics took the longest since I wasn't very familiar with iMovie at the time. So about another couple of weeks
5) There is no mp3 available for download as I do not have the right to distribute it.
6) I am working on an original track that will fit seamlessly within the mix- but there will be a couple of twists, so stay tuned
7) The next mashup is currently underway- no eta at the moment though
8) I'm sure this type of mashup could be accomplished with other genres besides country. The reason I was drawn to country in this case was because I had been listening to country radio in order to stay current with my own songwriting. If I was listening to the pop stations, I guess I could have found similarities for a number of those songs as well.
9) I put up my new website today. Check it out at www.SirMashalot.com and please feel free to leave any feedback, positive or negative, on my original music or the site itself.
10) Thanks again!
Don't know about anyone else but I got here from one of nerd cubes mystery videos:)

I too, would like it to be on itunes.
I'd like to make such a mashup of my own, for a certain metal band which everyone constantly says "sounds all the same". Are there any free softwares that I can use that make this process intuitive and/or easy?
My general music teacher showed this to us today to show how country songs all sound the same. I really enjoyed this.
Edit: It'd be cool if the writers of these songs all got together and did something like this when making them
Ha, nice- tell your teacher I say Hi ;)
@@SirMashalot1 I would if I could but the trimester ended yesterday
"It'd be cool if the writers of these songs all got together and did something like this when making them" From what I recall this video in particular was a massive embarrassment for Nashville music producers who all realized they independently make the exact same garbage song with 6 different bands; but hey, I don't have any #1 singles so what do I know.
They could sing in Mandarin, and you’d still know they’re panderin’

Lol 'songwriters'
Every single person I work with likes country except me, and I hate how that's all we play at work because of the fact. I constantly tell them that it all sounds exactly the same and I can't tell a single person apart, and all I get is "Well your classic rock music sounds exactly the same, too." This video right here proves my point.
Bravo, keep fighting them colleagues at work :D
Justin Knust you are going to win someday
Well it does help that he changed the pitch and tempo of the songs so that they matched up better. No matter what genre it is, if you haven't experienced it much, it all sounds the same.
"I mean, is this Frank Zappa or Pink Floyd? Nobody knows!"
Dear lord the lyrics shouldn't make sense but they do
No they still don't, just random "country" tropes.

This all goes together a little too well. Really shows how similar and indifferent “modern country” can be.
Rick Beato resent me back to this brilliantly made video. It's crazy how many songs in all music genres use the same chords!
this is fucking ridiculous and I loved almost every tear I cried for talented musicians.
This video is an indictment on not just Nashville, but the average country music consumer. These songs still get massive air play to this day. You could play them back to back to back and I don’t think the average listener would even understand they just heard the same song six times.
Who cares. Nobody listens to noise music, microtonal music, and other "innovative" "different" sounding genres of music because they sound bad. This sounds good. Blake Shelton has another song that sounds like it came from the same mold. It's called "What She Likes". My mom was just listening to it and it made me think of this Mashup. It sounds like it uses the same melodic chord progression and a similar tempo. At one point it even had the exact same lead fill as some of the songs in this video.
Who's listening to this in June 2021? An awesome mashup!!
It’s a good mash up cuz the songs are all almost identical
Step 1) find all the bpm’s and adjust them to the closest median speed so the drum track/rhythm feels consistent.
Step 2) pitch correction. Find out what key every song is in and bring them up or down accordingly so they’re all in the same key.
Step 3) Creative cutting and pasting in the DAW of your choice to get some kind of verse-chorus organization.
Step 4) Meet Satan.
And then pay a lackey to re-pocket every...single...drum cycle. That is where this satan of which you speak lies.
This is the "We Are The World" of country music
I hope they play this mash up with the next country music awards just to see the look of horror on everyone’s faces
What's annoying about this is that it was long enough ago that I have almost-fond memories of hearing these exact songs on the radio as a kid. I realize they're bad, but I still have a weird desire to listen to them again. Nostalgia is a powerful drug.
