The real beauty of your technique and what you demonstrate is that this is only using paint. No inks, no mediums, no special brushes. Water, dilution, and paint control. These are helpful to watch over and over because the simplicity and repetition of the skill. I may not get something new on these, but it's more the "wax the car", "paint the fence", approach to teaching. Thanks for these great instructions in skill.
Question: do you know of any good shadow colors for a scheme like the one on the horse's body? I love the creamy white color but I'm painting a model with much sharper and more defined recesses and I'm struggling to find a paint or combo that makes a good shadow without coming off as an abrupt transition? Ideally one from Vallejo but another range is fine if you know it.
I was just wondering if you had watched any of the cartoons or even clips of the show as you pronounce Uni (as in short for unicorn) as “Ooni” or “Ewni” (which sounds like a Japanese version of the character). ruclips.net/video/D66n31vUeyI/видео.html Episode 1 at 1:18 Bobby says “Uni” Just wondering. Great paint job BTW. Thanks Also strange that the company who created the STL model made “Uni” a full grown unicorn instead of the baby unicorn that jumps up in Bobby’s arms… unless they don’t have permission and are doing their own unlicensed version of it.
this show was 'worked on' all over the world, but commishened for USA in the 1980s this is the only place where it would air consistantly. they call her " YOU-knee " There is an episode where all the kids ride a herd of unicorns (thus proving, once again, that the kids are 'pure of heart' ( a running theme of the show)) this scuplt is positioned with great love and care as a reference to THAT episode. I am torn with Doctor Faust's artistic choice of making the beast into an adult version of UNI. Now that I am thinking of it, there may also be an episode where an adult version of UNI breifly appears (probably due to time-travel shenanigans)
Good vid, good channel. One of the best actually. Sadly shouting and smiling and gesticulating a lot and looking cool fast seems to sell much better on YT these days than well made, informative, structured painting guide. You know, sir, in which category you are. And I thank you for being in it. Protip: Since you do voice over, pls spend that 1-1.5h more per vid and zoom in occasionally. Make five to ten such captions, 5 seconds long each. In next video. After some time it will become easier. We need your work.

ghod, I hated that cartoon, not even so much for its own quality (or lack thereof), as for the public image it created of D&D being for children. =>[.]

I enjoyed the comments on brush size since that is something I sometimes struggle with
WOW!
This is incredible
New Camera ? New Camera angle? Looks real good.
Ty and please continue the whole serie !
Very cool painting. It's interesting how your strokes are in the beginning.
Looking good! Can't wait to see the rest in the series.
Nice to see another one of your videos doc!
Another swanky video. The layering of off whites was quite helpful and I will "appropriate" it for future use. Great mini of choice as well.

What do you do for your magic wash now that pledge doesn't make future care anymore?
I don't use that anymore. Glaze medium would be a substitute, though.
Any idea where to get this mini?

why is the sound so low
Honestly buddy, I think you missed an opportunity here. I would have done a fair amount of fine hard black lining to push that cartoon aesthetic.
