Great review. It took me a moment to get into this presenter's groove but I really liked the way he pointed out some of those things that can really annoy and spoil your ownership experience, such as those sharp buttons on the steering wheel. I'd love to see a comparison with the new i30 SR.
Very late reply, but thanks Mark. Richard Berry
hahah hands down the best car review in years, I loved it, many thanks Rich.
Great review! I always look forward to your video reviews. Keep up the good work
Thank you. Richard berry
Awesome review. 'Story' - theme 🙂
Out of 2019 Mazda3, Corolla Hybrid, i30, Astra was best to drive. Heated steering wheel and remote start nice for Canberra, Melbourne and Tassie winters.
Great review I have the Astra back in the UK and great to get an Aussie perspective. Laughed at questioning the need for a heated steering wheel over there! True 👍
I actually bought one of these BECAUSE it had a heated steering wheel. I leave for a 35 minute commute to work in Sydney before the sun comes up and with previous cars, my hands were still freezing when I got to there because of the cold steering wheel. I had to wear gloves on the colder mornings when driving during winter. My motorcycle has heated grips and I used to complain to friends about why cars wouldn't have the same. When I found out the Astra RS-V had a heated steering wheel, I bought one. Best decision ever. I love it.
Thanks. It's a big help knowing all this info.
Great review! And I should know, I am from Europe!
Thank you. Richard Berry
Cruise control speed increase of 5km/h intervals is annoying. You literally have to catch it out by hitting set with your foot perfectly balanced with the correct throttle input to set at 2 or 3km/h in between.
Love this guy .honest review and fun to watch
Australian suspension tuning means make the spring harder and dampers stiffer because we have bumpy roads and they want you to feel it...
Thank you for the video like most comparisons they are subjective on personal choice stuff ..btw the 6 speed manual I can say performs fantastic as for comfort well I am not 1.9 tall so apart from the centre console every thing is on par or better than its competitors
would like to see a comparison of the other cars in this segment, seems the new impreza pips the astra in everyway besides the engine
How you gonna compare an impreza to an astra are you on drugs?
Wow you really sold me on this car Richard.
Great review
Opel makes some impressive vehicles.
lol, love the story-book review...this guy should do more for Carsguide!
I love this guy!
Very nice review, I like the Oz specific humor and even if the car is mediocre, the presenter made it look better
Where did you get this bloke from... anyway, I have the 2017 RS-V Manual and I couldn't be happier, it's a beautiful car, drives like no other, I had the 2013 Opel Astra 1.4 Turbo prior and this new RS-V has outshone it by far., just an all round beautiful car. Highly recommend., Oh I bought a demo model for $20,888 with 8430 ks on the clock. Worth the savings.
That's a bargain mate! I have a 2013 Opel Astra 2.0 diesel, I'm wanting to get the RS-V does it still hold up well? I'm wanting an auto though
Hey funny video! Good work Astra seems nice except hard ride and hard seats
i had the elite tourer 1.4 turbo over a year and its top dollar in all departments you don't know what your talking about mate !!
Nice kids book!
Was funny and entertaining, but put over a great review.
Who is this floozy.
How to turn the parking sensor off permanantly? It's auto on when stuck in traffic
You can do it in the menu settings
How is the sound deadening?
the start of this review, WHAT THA?
Haha I love this dudes review
Thanks man! Anything you like us to review next? Richard Berry
CarsGuide Maybe one comparing the Elantra Sr with the Astra sedan
Oh gosh I could tell you the answer to that now ; ) Richard Berry
CarsGuide haha yeah the Elantra seems to be miles ahead of the Astra
Yeah, the Elantra scored pretty well when I reviewed it. The Astra... not so well. Richard Berry
It’s very good value for money.
Hallo man ! Rainbow colours !
So...buy a golf? Or a focus?
Dellacondan buy a focus if you want constant issues with the power shift transmission and buy a gold if you want to pay $700 for a service.
Lol so is there someone that don't work for Sheldon/ ford to try this car!! ?
A bit critical
Whinge whinge whinge great automatic also great on fuel very picky
haha awesome review
You don't need a heated steering wheel in Australia ????? LOL
BIG LOL
Seriously mate, you need to travel more....or get up earlier .
Sorry for not being a wuss. Richard Berry
CarsGuide hahahahahahahahahahahahaha*choke*hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
Devilsambrose i lived in oberon for 5 years. Didnt need a frigging heated steering wheel in the snow.
I get up at 4am for work. Dont need a heated steering wheel.
Harden up.
i was gonna say 'maybe cos he lives in melb or tas'... but then he drives past le montage (sydney)
If I lived in Melbourne I would need heated undies first then worry about steering wheels later. If I DID live in Melbourne I would have to end myself so heated steering wheels are irrelevant I guess
And that's why you buy the RS and not the RS-V. Save money not getting the useless crap, but it still has the 1.6L turbo engine
Puncey
Dude is not funny at all.
Automatic? Gag.
😂😂😂
Manual isn't better than automatic even maybe worse. It is due to emission regulation. No solution here. Just hoping a new software for automatic that will set up the transmission with a better response. Meanwhile I suggest to run all the time on sport mode.
I can see your jealous mate because the car has been designed in Europe!!! Hahahah your jealousy is my energy that’s why European’s says.
Terrible review, and looks like a terrible dated looking car, crap euro car
You look a bit terrible and dated.
Steve H Yep, Australian cars are so cutting edge.
@@aidan9958 I wonder if he's finally recovered from that burn?
