    The fear and the admiration in his brothers' eyes, especially in Ivar's, is what gets me everytime... As much as Ivar became great and feared by most, even by his brothers, he knew to his core that Bjorn had transcended them, their father and any mortal man before him. I believe this scene right here is where we finally truly see Ivar scared. The man who always claimed to be a god himself started to fear his brother to actually be one.

      @@dirtymusiclive Huh... he did. Just as the seer foretold. He unified and became the first true king of all scandinavia, acknowledged by all. He travelled further than any viking before him, avenged his father's death in england and most importantly defeated the rus who would otherwise overthrow the entire viking culture. All this without considering the already huge reputation he had from all the battles he participated in with his father, earning him the title "ironside". The whole point of the show is that Bjorn becomes greater than Ragnar so idk what else to tell you xD

In Paris, it literally took his brother betraying him for him not to just do what he wanted there. Not a knock on Ragnar. That’s just Paris having a cheat code. Both of those places Ragnar successfully raided. England multiple times and Paris at least once. Literally the best thing Bjorn did was unite everyone at his death to defeat the Ruse. Also leading the great army. But that was more a combined effort from all his sons more than anything. Ragnar was way more influential. As I said, his sons are famous purely off the back of Ragnar.

      Bjorn, while knocking on deaths door many hours after having been run through with a sword, dawned full battle rattle, mounted a big ass steed and rode alone up to the front of and faced off against the largest army any Viking had ever seen.
      He took three direct arrow hits essentially center mass and stayed in the saddle, and still stared down his enemy.
      Then he drew his sword and was joined by every man woman and child strong enough to pick up a weapon and defend their homeland, and then it was Game F’n On.

    Over 1,000 years later and Bjorn Ironside is still remembered. There are many famous historical figures in our time. But it’s very rare for one man to stand above them. Greatest Roman of all time? Caesar? Spartacus? Greatest Frenchman? Charlemagne? Napoleon? Englishman? Alfred the Great? Churchill?…
    Greatest Viking? Only Bjorn Ironside.
    Ragnars historical accuracy is still being debated to this day.

    • @manojnagendran6876
      @manojnagendran6876 6 месяцев назад +1

      Spartacus was not a Roman. He was the greatest gladiator to ever live. A slave king who made Rome tremble. Bjorn is awesome, but Spartacus as well stands out in his own right. No other gladiator ever compared, he’s in a league of his own. And in this show there are many historical inaccuracies about bjorn. Spartacus was as true to the real character as it gets.

    This was easily my favorite episode of the franchise. The little boy we’ve seen grown up to become a man and a true leader of his people. Still brings a tear to my eye. Valhalla was roaring when they heard Bjorn Ironside was finally coming home especially becoming the true King of Norway to finally defeat Ivar. It took his death, but Bjorn wins the war of the Ragnarsons

      Amen to that! It is so damn motivating. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody get back on their feet, on their horse, knowing they are going to DIE, gets shot with 3 arrows, manages to raise his sword in the air to call on his army, and sits on THE horse with a last breath. That’s not a king that just dies in his bed like most other kings do, THAT is a true King that wanted a victory on the battlefield before death.

    Björn had the best death in the Series handsdown. Only followed second by the legend himself: Ragnar.
    Imo why Björn's death is the best is that it's a pure parallel between Ragnar's death rallying the great Heathen army for Vengeance, while Björn's death Rallied Everyone from Norway to become the Ironside to the Rus, defending their home!
    Plus Snake pit Poetry makes Björn's death even more epic.
